Err nil I’m NOT getting up to watch, as I said if we were playing like last season I probably would but it’s pretty hard to get up at 2 or 3am & not enjoy watching it.
I think You can’t handle the reality that we will probably have one of if not our best season ever points wise & still won’t win a thing. We simply can’t compete with the money c$ty have & at the end of the day money is all that matters.
All good nine, actually got 5-6ft swell tomorrow about an hour & half from where I live so I’ll be heading there pretty early to enjoy the day. Unlike some I accept the football situation & realise there’s a lot more to worry about._____________________________

Brian have a look at your players coming in to replace your injured players though mate and compare them to anyone else’s. This is why I’ve said c$ty will win it all along.
Nine I’m only going off what I’m reading mate, I’ve stopped getting up early to watch as it’s just too hard here in Oz, esp if we aren’t playing well. If we went back to playing like last season I’d be more inclined to watch as it was enjoyable even if we didn’t win but I’ve pretty much lost interest in watching the inevitable c$ty win again._____________________________

Gday Mak, it’s all good mate, if he or anyone else wants to take their frustrations out on me when c$ty win it I really couldn’t care less. Sometimes reality hurts.

Nil are you serious, I’m only making these comments when the chips are down? I said this when we were 9 points ahead not even half way through the season & people were talking about titles. I’m no rocket scientist but I did say way back then the season is a long one & I don’t think we have the depth to last in comparison to c$ty, Hardly saying it because the chips are down.
We’ve got posts from c$ty fans that have gone from saying the ball is in our court to pointing out where we are weak compared to them, I reckon they know deep down they’ll win it. It’s no great shock they’ve hit the front with under 10 games to go, I’m pretty sure most predicted c$ty would win so I’m not saying I told you so, it is what it is & it’s expected. I’ll get proved right but certainly won’t be bragging about it, as I said most expected this at the start of the season. Sadly the EPL is the most predictable of all the leagues, basically the richest club wins it. Not my fault, just how it is._____________________________

So we’ve gone from “we are 9 ahead & still not playing great” to “we are still top & any of us would’ve taken that at the start of the season” to “we are still in it” & “there’s more twists & turns to go”. I don’t need to tell you what’s next. As predicted the moneybags will win it with some to spare. 1 thing that has surprised me is how long we’ve hung in there when we haven’t really got anywhere near the heights attack wise of last season. Being honest I’d rather we played like last season, at least it was very good to watch. If your not going to win you might as well go down swinging.
Klopp mentioning the wind as a factor like it only effected us is ridiculous, from what I’ve read he could maybe take a bit of blame for not going for a win.
Sean you are spot on mate, moneybags won’t lose it now, Liverpool will definitely drop more points, esp away from home where we seem to struggle to get going._____________________________

25th February 2019 at 9:25 pm in reply to: BIG Weekend Footy – Man United V Liverpool and Chelsea v Man City #34340Chucks could you imagine a dragons player defecting to the rabbits or vice versa back in the day? No bloody chance. Money is all that matters these days & IMO it’s ruined sports & taken the passion out of it.
I see some saying hopefully Liverpool will find their attacking boots again but it’s just not going to happen, we don’t play like that any more.
Brian c $ty will have it wrapped up with a few games to spare mate, just wait & see. It’s so predictable, club with more money wins it. Yeah you’ve still got to play the games but it’s a lot easier when you have much better players than everyone else isn’t it.
I haven’t watched a rugby league game in 4 years & im heading the same way with football, sports just aren’t what they used to be & enjoyment is gone for me. I’ll keep an eye ? on results in the sports news but won’t be getting too carried away with it.
I’ll keep you all updated from time to time on the surf ??♂️ Conditions though. Take care lads & lasses ?_____________________________

25th February 2019 at 9:38 am in reply to: BIG Weekend Footy – Man United V Liverpool and Chelsea v Man City #34293Nil I haven’t watched a game for a few weeks now & haven’t really missed it. I get what you mean when you say football feels crappy at the moment, I feel the same way. For me its not sport any more, it’s who has the most money. There’s no loyalty, jack all passion from players, they don’t care who they play for it’s who has the money, I just don’t enjoy it like I used to.
I used to love rugby league in Oz but it’s gone the same way ( although not to the money levels of football) & players don’t care who they play for. In the eighties if you played for a team like Parramatta for example, you couldn’t pay enough money to play for arch rivals Canterbury or Manly. Nowadays whoever offers the most money is who they play for.
I don’t have to watch any games to know c$ty will win the EPL & with Liverpool not playing very well I’m just not enjoying it any more, esp at 1,2 or 3am. If we were attacking like last season It’d be worth getting up but I’m not enjoying it so I won’t be getting up.
Anyway each to their own, big surf hitting the east coast in Oz thanks to a cyclone up north so gotta get going. Take care lads & lasses._____________________________

Firstly great job Spurs, awesome victory. Secondly you can’t tell me “they” don’t want real progressing. That was the worst most blatantly obvious one sided reffing performance I’ve ever seen. Too much money & corruption in football these days. Better off watching local club football, at least it’s more likely to be legit.

Haven’t seen the game yet but great result & from what I’m reading & seeing on sports news we were pretty impressive throughout. Hopefully that’ll be the confidence booster we need cause I can’t see c$ty dropping too many more points.

Mak you can’t compare the spending of c$ty & Liverpool mate, there is no comparison. Well except for the last couple of windows where we are trying to play catch up but their massive spending for years after they got their new owners put them way way ahead.
I agree with those saying manu are the most likely to catch c$ty in the next couple of seasons. FFP doesn’t effect them as much due to what they turn over as a club so they can effectively spend more than most._____________________________

Hopefully a couple of us will catch up soon mate, otherwise the EPL will become pretty boring with c$ty winning it every other year.
I think we are heading on the right direction under Klopp bit maintaining it is another thing. As I said to Threeps I’d just be happy if we went back to last seasons style, might not have won anything but it was damn good to watch. I’d rather go down swinging than play how we are now._____________________________

Nine as I said mate we’ve spent a lot of money but it pales into insignificance in comparison.

Nine the problem for everyone else is no one else got the opportunity to build such big squads because this FFP rubbish came in AFTER c$ty & chel$ki had built their squads. I don’t know what happened with your mob but c$ty only have to tweak their squad each year as the squad is already bigger than everyone else, hence they don’t have to spend a fortune every year to stay up top of the table. It’s goong to take a few years until others can catch up, if at all. Liverpool have spent a lot but as we will see it won’t be enough, we are falling apart now & there’s still 12 or 13 games to go.

Adlab you can’t be serious mate, if you want to compare who’s a bigger loss injury wise let’s compare who replaces the injured players. You’ll find c$ty really haven’t got it too bad. We get a couple of injuries we are screwed, c$ty can cope just a little bit better me thinks.

Had trouble logging on so just Oz not Oz Yob.
Threeps to be honest mate last season was some of the happiest I’ve been watching Liverpool, absolutely loved it, that’s why I watch football it was entertainment plus & I got a couple of Rugby League mates watching us as well due to the way we played. I did often say if only we could sort our D we’d be some team. I get why we played a bit more reserved & tried to stop leaking goals but going off what Klopp said early in the season I thought would introduce the pressing all action style throughout the season again. We are tighter but nowhere near as effective going forward & now our depth is being exposed we are progressively getting worse. I hope your right mate but I can see us falling well off the pace over the next 5 or 6 games with c$ty’s depth drivingcthem off into the distance. I will still watch games but admit I’m not enjoying them anywhere near like I wa last last season._____________________________
