Mikus they have been there before bro, we are far more likely to slip up again. I’ve literally got no expectations of winning the EPL. The only thing that irks me is how close we got AGAIN, it’s almost like we are cursed not to win the EPL. Whenever we go close it’s always next year we only have to fix x,y & z then we will be right. Always next year, next year. I said in December we wouldn’t win despite being ahead by a good margin, I just knew they have to deep a squad. KDB goes off injured & they bring on Fernandinho, I mean seriously how do you compete. Well I suppose we have competed but we just can’t get there.
Different in the C/L, the ball is in our court & I think we can get at them if our D holds firm.
Anyway mate, here’s hoping your right & I’m way off, I’d love to finally break that EPL curse.

Sadly its a very safe bet Mak, city wont drop point again this season. When you think about it Sean was on the money, as soon as they were in front we picked up our game, unfortunately all for nothing as they did as well.

Nil id be happy to just grab the points in those games. Still a chance but a very very slim one, city won’t let this go. As I said the C/L is in our hands.

city will win this 3 or 4 zip, our only hope is manu but they will go down 1-2. As Sean said many moons ago as soon as it’s out of our hands it’s over, city will not give us another chance, esp now there is no more C/L.
I say all out for the C/L, I think we can get at their backline & if our D remains tight, which I think it can, we are a good chance over 2 legs.
I’m not saying forget the EPL but if it came down to resting players etc do it there, at least the C/L is in our hands.

Great effort from our lads to be still in the 2 major comps at this very late stage, I for 1 am proud of the determination & drive the lads have shown. I don’t even think we have played that good throughout parts of the season and said many times we can’t keep playing ok & keep winning games yet here we are with not long to go & we are still up there pushing the top teams all the way. They are just finding ways to get the job done.
Massive credit to Klopp as well, amazing job he’s done instilling belief in the lads, you can see how they keep fighting. I do still think the C/L is our best chance of a title as I don’t think city will lose another game. Massive from spurs as well, spent jack all, lost their best player (some calling that a positive as they play more as a team without him but I’d still rather have him in the team than not) yet maintaining a top 4 challenge along with their C/L campaign into the semi’s. Would love to see a spurs LFC final.
We may well finish the season winning nothing at all but I’d still be proud of the way the lads have fought their butts off to be in it.

I used to think Pep was nothing but a cheque book manager but changed that opinion after I seen a piece on how Klopp set LFC up to nullify & ultimately beat c$ty, then how Pep picked up what Klopp was doing & changed his set up. It was very interesting to watch.
That said it does make it a hell of a lot easier when you adopt a top quality squad & get to add whatever you want to it over several seasons with money no object. Could Pep adopt say a LFC like when Klopp did & have a way inferior squad but manage to be competitive like we are now? I don’t think he could myself, despite being a very good manager.
He will still win the EPL this season & that can’t be sneezed at.

Good points being made here lads, I agree with a lot of it. Regardless of how this season ends, we can definitely be proud of the fight the lads have shown this season, it’s been above my expectations that’s for sure & I certainly didn’t expect us to be still right in it with only 4 games to go. Whilst we are heading the right way we always seem to be saying next season, next season we will strengthen the D, next season we will be more balanced, next season we will add more depth etc etc, there’s always a reason we haven’t won the holy grail. I know no one has a right to win it but it’s been the best part of 3 decades of reasons & at the moment we are against the most expensively assembled squad in history so for me it’d be a minor miracle if we outlast them. What Sean said is ringing in my ears, which is as soon as it’s out of our hands it’s over, c$ty won’t let us back in it. I do hope he’s wrong but gut feeling is he’s right.
We do belong up the top end though, great manager, balanced squad & can really turn it on at times, just that massive monkey on the back of winning the holy grail again, or the C/L would be an awesome alternative.

Spot on Mikus, the fans want to win things but as you say money is all that matters these days. Sad thing is if you don’t have money you won’t win things. Just look at city, spend loads more than anyone else & are on track to win 4 trophy’s, others simply can’t compete with the money they spend. The only badge players kiss these days is the logo of their bank.

Sean I think we passed like city last season & regularly tore teams to shreds so we can play like that. As you know we are a lot more reserved this season & appear to me to be trying to play a more balanced game. Going off the table it’s working better than the all out attack from last season but I must admit I enjoyed watching us a lot more last season. Hopefully though it will pay dividends in a month or so & we will get something out of it.

Yeah Mal I for 1 am beaming after that win. There’s 6 games to go so really 3 points is all that matters. I do agree we will need to play a lot better than that if we are to win all of them, esp away from home. Good ticker though & great fighting spirit. Good to see Keita finally score & Hendo as well.
It probably won’t be enough considering what we are up against but I must admit I thought this comp would already be pretty much over by now, I just can’t see city losing another game, they are more than comfortable against everyone whereas we seem to be in a battle every game.
Ah well C/L again next season & an interesting tie in the C/L to come as well.

I think Poch is a very good manager, remember spurs spent jack all for a while now and it’s only recently they fell off the top 2. They just played our mob who are on top and were at home and IMO deserved to at least draw that game, if not win it. They were the better team IMO. If they do spend I think they’ve got the right man at the helm to push for trophies, I just see them at the moment lacking a bit of depth to go the distance over a full season at the top, much like we lack that bit of quality in depth to get the title from city.

Love watching inside Anfield on LFCTV, it gives a great insight into the goings on behind the scenes. Also love Klopp & his passion for the club & game. I hope to god he wins a major trophy with us, it’d be awesome to see him going off with the fist pumps after a major title. We are doing awesome this season so fingers crossed this could be the one. We are there abouts, just need to get over the line.

I hope he’s wrong but I think Mak might be right with Keita. Before I get the same backlash I’ll say why.
I think Keita is very suited to the box to box role & is very good at it but as we know in a Klopp system he likes you to be able to play multiple roles. This is where I think Keita is struggling. When not in his preferred position he doesn’t really influence a game at all & struggles to perform.
Yeah he might learn to be effective but like Mak my gut feeling is he will not have the impact we hoped for at LFC. I don’t think we will sell him in a hurry but I’m not confident he will be what we thought he’d be.

Chucks it was remarkable your mob were competing with the moneybags 4 weeks ago, truly amazing really when comparing money spent. However this is why I keep saying it’s over a FULL SEASON where the massive squad comes into it. Just like us being 7 or so ahead at Christmas meant f all, as the season rolls on & games pile up the size of your squad makes the difference & c$ty have a far bigger one quality wise than anyone else, hence why I still said at Christmas they would win the EPL when a lot were saying Liverpool would win it.
Yes I’d expect Liverpool to finish above spuds with money spent & that looks pretty likely as well, however I didn’t expect us to be still pushing city with just 6 games to go, I thought they’d have it wrapped up with 3 or 4 to spare & whilst that still might happen it looks unlikely.

We are doing well to hang in there with city but I doubt we will go the last games undefeated, esp away from home. I also can’t see them dropping points in another game so it won’t matter. Still a monumental effort considering the financial clout we are up against. Sadly money is all that matters these day’s. C/L is our best hope of winning anything.
Top 4 is very interesting, a lot on the line there & it’ll be intriguing to see who gets the C/L next season.

Yeah Nil, Anfield on a European night is a massive plus & in the C/L the ball is totally in our court, we control our destiny. Unlike the EPL where we are relying on another team to slip up more than us (which is very unlikely). I actually fancy our chances better against the top European teams than I do top teams in the EPL so hopefully we can do it.
