Nine my 1st reference to you blaming you for us dropping points was obviously a joke. My point in the 2nd post is you cannot be serious saying c$ty have a “feint hope” due to the 5 point gap. You have seen Liverpool play lately right, far from convincing in a lot of recent games & a bit of luck to boot. With the injuries easing for c$ty they will only get stronger. A feint hope might be needing to win your last 5 or 6 games & relying on the leaders to drop a couple of games, certainly not the most expensively built squad ever 5 points behind with 14 games to go with the leaders not playing particularly well.
Of course I’m disappointed we didn’t win but I’m not in any way surprised, I expected us to have a slump & drop points as our squad isn’t strong enough to compete with c$ty in the EPL over a full season as well as go far in the C/L but I do think your kidding giving c$ty a “feint hope”.

Mak champions take advantage of slip ups mate, esp when you don’t get many of them. We just can’t handle injuries as we don’t have the depth. Sadly for us our best team, manager & chance at a title in many years was in the era of the most expensively built squad in history.

Nine you do realize the best ever EPL side is in this competition and there is like 14 games to go. If you have been watching Liverpool you’d see we have not been playing well & can’t handle the injuries like c$ty did. I get your trying to be objective or whatever & you want a tight title race as chelski are out of it but saying a feint chance for c$ty is just taking th p***. I think your stirring the pot a bit & going off Nils comments it won’t take much to break someone. Your not fooling me ol mate, I got you sussed.

I blame nine for his positive predictions, never right when he predicts us to do well. As a matter of fact whenever I predict we do well we don’t either so I’ll just shut up as well :>))
Ref was obviously disgraceful but we haven’t helped ourselves with Salah diving so much in recent weeks so I’m guessing that played a part in us getting sh*t calls all game. We have been playing pretty ordinarily in recent games so it’s no surprise what so ever to drop points & I fully expect plenty more of these performances till seasons end. We simply don’t have the depth to compete over a full season & that will ultimately prove our undoing. Injuries are piling up & we can’t handle them. Hendo played well out of position & got exposed a few times, Keita just not up to scratch, I actually think he’s going to be a flop, front 3 not firing, we are basically out of form & can’t get it back. As I said we won’t be able to rely on c$ty dropping many more points so unless we find form fast, we will see the moneybags drift off into the distance as the season rolls on.

Settle down lads, we haven’t been playing very well in recent matches so dropping points was only a matter of time. This is how c$ty felt v Newcastle, dominate the game but didn’t get the bacon.
Of all our recent buys I was most excited about Keita but boy what a disappointment he has been. Yes he is being played out of position a lot but he is struggling big time. Hopefully he just needs a season to adapt & will come good next season.
You feel we needed the 7 point gap for a bit of a buffer as we aren’t playing great so we need the lads to find some form. c$ty won’t give many more chances so we can’t rely on them to keep dropping points, we need to get players in form. Still more than confident c$ty won’t win it, we simply don’t have the depth & are in a blip but at least we are making them work for it this season.

Nine you’ve made a few positive predictions about Liverpool in recent seasons & they haven’t exactly turned out well so please do us a favour & don’t ?.
I think we will get the cookies this game but it wouldn’t surprise me if we drop points. It’s not like we are playing awesome & teams can’t keep up with us like a lot of last season. We are JUST scraping through games & getting the job done. Vardy against what could well be a make shift D doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence. The extra steel we now have, along with home ground advantage makes me think we should win but I wouldn’t rule out dropping points.

So I’ve given up on predictions, I honestly thought c$ty would go undefeated with all their players coming back from injury, couldn’t pick a team to beat them. What a result for Liverpool, but it’ll mean nothing if we don’t get the cookies v Leicester. Still a long way to go & we’ve seen us stuff up many times in recent seasons so I’ll take nothing for granted. We are in a great spot though & even I’m starting to dream, or as Klopp says believe. Thanks Rafa you legend.

For me I love the FA Cup as it’s what got me into football & become a LFC fan at a young age. My grandfather (RIP legend) used to get me up at stupid o’clock to watch the Cup & when Craig Johnston scored in a final he said “that blokes an Aussie mate”. From then on I was a red.
That said, all the romantics & emotion aside, as much as we don’t like it football is a business these days & the money involved in the C/L now has more importance to a club that has ambitions to be up the top & attract top players than the cups.
Pretty much no top team puts out their best side until the latter stages of the cups (maybe c$ty the exception as their 2nd team is as good as most clubs top team) so whilst Poch maybe shouldn’t have said what he did, most top managers thinks the same.

100% agree with Threeps, I do believe Pep is very tactically astute & is a very good manager. However as Threeps said he has had more funds at his disposal than his rivals in every role he has had.
Look I don’t think Klopp is at that level YET either but I love how he takes on clubs that are far from the best in their league & gradually builds them into top teams. Yes he has spent money but nowhere near what c$ty chel$kicor manu has.
Put it this way I don’t think Pep could go to a club in a state like Liverpool was & have them up there challenging for the league like Klopp has done without massively outspending everyone.

Retrospective ban is one way to punish players that do it. Might be some merit in what Chucky said on another thread, that is a penalty is only given if it’s stopped a definite goal attempt or something along those lines.
It’s not hard to see when a player goes down grabbing his leg & rolling around like he’s in that much pain he’s gunna pass out, then you see the replay and a defender bumped hips with him. Or when they claimed to be tripped and fall forward whilst throwing their head back, it’s unnatural. In these cases, 2 week suspension. Somethings got to change, it’s the biggest blight on the game IMO.

I don’t get why what Sean said is seen as pessimistic. Liverpool will not win 14 of 15 games and who is going to beat c$ty? I think they will go the rest of the season undefeated. They stayed in touching distance of us whilst missing a number of their best players despite the fact we had our best EVER start to a campaign. Yes they have C/L but so do we & they now have players returning from injury whilst we have them dropping all over the shop. 1 injury up top & we are screwed. It’ll take a bit more than luck for us to win the EPL. I obviously hope we do but I can’t see it. That’s not being pessimistic, that’s just reality. I’ll just enjoy the wins & swear at the dropped points with no expectations of winning any silverware.

Firstly great to see another 3 points in our quest for the holy grail, we deserved to win IMO & Hendo had a great game.
Secondly, I absolutely hate how Salah goes down so easy. I’ve chopped into opposition players for doing it & I hate how he does it. I get how people say it’s the dark arts & Liverpool need to get good at them as everyone else does it but I just can’t like it. Like I said about many top players over the years, they don’t need to dive, they are top players that can beat players with skill & speed. I know I’ll cop the old excuses, the refs aren’t giving legit penalties so they have no option etc etc but I’ll never condone it.
Anyhow great to see us maintain the pressure on c$ty & here’s hoping for a miracle & a bit of breathing space, not that I expect it (they’ll win 4-0).

Must say I’d be very disappointed if we don’t buy another attacking player this window. I know we won’t but IMO That would give us at least a chance of challenging city for the title. Once C/L gets going again I got a feeling we are going to need another quality attacking player.
