Ed, true enough, do you know what position the lad was playing in?
Some good ties Everton isn’t an easy draw but you can’t ask for much more than a home tie, pleased for Bristol City getting Palace at home Ashton Gate will be jumping that night.

Draw will be interesting with all the Big teams bar Liverpool still in the hat.

Perhaps Chelsea should play all their games midweek.
Lot’s of the youngsters got a chance tonight inc 17 year old Ampadu becoming the first Millennial to play for the club.

Sean, Bonkers for anyone to want Klopp out. But he needs to overcome his defensive blind spot.

Sean, the question marks against Klopp relate to his lack of focus on defence a lot of Liverpool fans are questioning him specifically on that as are the media and personally I think they’re right to do so.
Klopp has been at the club two years now and the lack of defensive organisation and defensive frailties still remain exactly the same as they were under Rodgers.
I highlighted in my post above what Dean Saunders was saying on Talksport about the Liverpool defensive players v the attacking players and I think what he said was spot on.
Actually although the scoreline doesn’t show it Chelsea did comfortably beat Leicester but that’s neither here or there and I fully expect the Liverpool first team to win this game providing they defend sensibly especially from set piece situations and if they defend sensibly they have the attacking players to win quite comfortably imo.
Vardy has a groin strain from last week and given the way he plays even if he plays he won’t be up to speed which will be to Liverpool’s advantage.
All about opinions though mate. ? Cheers 999

Oz, I don’t think Liverpool are in too much for a mess they’ve had a run of a few disappointing results but on another day they could have easily won yesterday and could have easily won v Burnley and they were excellent v Arsenal albeit a poor Arsenal that day.
Obviously in the midst of a bad run Klopp won’t be as chirpy as he would be were Liverpool in middle of a good run that’s natural and would apply to all Managers.
I do think Klopp needs to get his head around the defensive side of the game philosophically, tactically, organisationally and player wise and doing that may be the thing what ultimately defines his tenure at Liverpool.
I was listening to Dean Saunders on Talksport and he made an interesting point regarding the likes of Mane, Coutinho, Firmino and Salah all being considered great players but not being able to say the same about the Liverpool Keepers and back four.

Liverpool as good as they are in attack mode Klopp still has some defensive issues to solve, personally I think those defensive issues go deeper than just bringing in VVD or De Vrij in January, but I wouldn’t be too worried about last night’s result the weekend game for Liverpool is far more important and the game last night was effectively between two shadow sides.
Always disappointing to go out of a Cup early particularly as the LC was a trophy that Liverpool could very well have won but the plus side is that there will be less games now for Liverpool to play which will lessen the pressures on the squad with the additional CL games which ultimately may well give them a better chance of retaining a top 4 place next this season.
Be very surprised if Liverpool don’t turn this one around and comfortably beat Leicester at the weekend.

Foden looks a prospect based on the times I’ve seen him play v Chelsea teams.
Very talented but very tough to break into a team like City’s also it takes more than just talent too.
Our youngest lad won’t be 7 until next month and played his first official game last Sunday with two goals and two assists in a 4-2 win and got recommended to the County Academy on the back of it. He’s a big lad and has learnt from having a footballing brother.
His brother two years older is going to be a player too and was picked up by the West Bromwich Academy at a Summer football Camp at aged 5 if they continue to progress and remain committed both will play football at a decent level if that’s what they want but it’s such a long long way from being a promising kid to where Phil Foden is now and then it’s even further to a first team like Man City’s and very very few come through and truly make it.

Massive improvement by Arsenal on Sunday after their Anfield mauling, different players selected and much better organised if Arsenal play with that level of commitment and organisation every week there’s every chance they can claim their CL place back.
The real Chelsea probably won’t emerge until October once Eden Hazard is completely match fit and fully restored to the Chelsea team.
After the disappointment of the home defeat to Burnley which even with 9 men Chelsea were unfortunate not to have earned a point 4 wins and a draw is a decent return after a difficult run of games in the PL.

Danny Ward in goal for Liverpool according to Klopp which will be the third different Keeper selected in 3 consecutive games across CL,PL and LC.
Chelsea likely to give Hazard a start plus one of two of the youngsters a game.
Bound to be one or two shocks I would like to see Chelsea go all the way and lift the trophy as they did in 2015 but you can never tell with squad sides being selected.

Rob, I think you’re right mate 3 PL titles in 4 seasons would be a massive ask of Chelsea and the title hasn’t been retained by anyone for 9 seasons.
It’s one of the Manchester clubs for me too.

Ed and banjo, very short odds on City imo but the odds reflect how the country are betting currently, as you say Ed City were running away with it at the same stage last season and you would have got long odds on Chelsea even making the CL let alone winning the title and it all turned around and there is still a long long way to go and anything can happen.
But currently based on the first 5 games the top 6 and the order look about right to me but the odds will swing around according to the results.
Personally I can only see a Manchester 1 and 2 and for me City just shade it based on the strength of their squad and the extra creativity in it but I definitely wouldn’t rule out United.

Ed, Spurs away, Everton home, Leicester away, Arsenal home, Stoke away, City home is a tough run of games to kick off with especially without Hazard being able to start hopefully he’s fully up and running from Stoke away.

Disappointing performance imo with Chelsea only playing in patches against a very different Arsenal to the one that played Liverpool.
Amazingly David Luiz completes a hat trick of sendings off in 3 consecutive games v Arsenal.
Luiz rightly earns a 3 match ban though fortunately Chelsea are fairly well covered in that area v some of the other areas of the team where a suspension would have been more challenging.
Stoke away up next in the PL followed by City at home completes a difficult run of opening fixtures for Chelsea hopefully they can hang on in there and kick on a bit when Hazard is up and running at 100% again.
I think the combination of Hazard and Morata alongside either Willan or Pedro looks an interesting three which I’m looking forward to seeing.

You would have got good odds yesterday on neither of Spurs or Liverpool winning and only two goals across both games.

City were my tip for the title before the season started they have the strongest squad and had Jesus not got injured last season may well have won it then. Going to take a very good team to finish above them this season.
