Well said Oz.

A good game evenly balanced with both keepers making good saves to keep it nil nil. A really enjoyable watch though and much more open than last year’s game at Anfield.

Difficult to pick a winner Rashford off the bench with circa 30 mins to go might swing it United’s way? Or Sturridge off the bench for Liverpool as he is a natural goal scorer?

maverick, I might be wrong but I think Lukaku came on and played 30 minutes v Cyprus on Tuesday scoring after missing the Bosnia game with an ankle injury.

I can’t see Kane playing for any other PL team if he goes it will be to one of Real, PSG or Barca for a lot for money.

banjo, if you take your Spurs tinted specs off mate there’s a lot more chance of Kane winning the Champions League at Real Madrid than there is at Spurs.

Kane could see the whole of his career out at Spurs and still never win the Champions League or the PL.

Spurs biggest problem is their wage structure and players join up with international squads and hear from their pals in those squads that they are all earning considerably more than the Spurs players. Ultimately the top Spurs players will agitate for better wages or to move on and this has started at Spurs already.

If Spurs lose some of their top players because of the above ultimately it may cost them Kane too.

I’m going for a 2-2 draw.

Liverpool will play at a higher level v United they always raise their game for the big matches and will create chances but I think they will probably struggle a bit defensively v United’s pace and the physicality of Lukaku. You heard it here first.?

banjo, how many top players in the recent past stay loyal to one club off the top of my head I can only think of Giggs, Terry, Scholes and Gerrard but the first three won everything they could win and were very well compensated too and Gerrard won everything he could win bar the PL title and was a top earner.

“Spurs in the blood” sounds very romantic but is likely to be out balanced by lifestyle, £350k a week and a chance to win the biggest trophies.

Spurs bigger problem is being able to hold on to the likes of Dele Alli etc on significantly less wages than they can earn elsewhere if Spurs can find a solution to that problem there’s more chance of keeping Kane certainly in the medium term if not it will only add to the likelihood of him eventually going to a Super Club possibly sooner rather than later.

nb, who comes into replace Sadio Mane during his injury has to be 100% relevant on a Sadio Mane is injured thread.

Ox looks a good bet otherwise why would Klopp have spent £35m on him?

Much more important though is who will place N’golo Kante and Alvaro Morata? ?

Liverpool’s defence lacks pace and organisation and has difficulty dealing with the high ball and pace and Lukaku’s aerial ability are United’s strengths.

Mane is a big loss and an even bigger loss if you look at the stats for games played without him.

The Liverpool defence will have to be better than it has been all season if that happens and they take their chances you wouldn’t rule out a Liverpool win even without Mane and Liverpool raise their game v the too sides too,but should they lose and worse still should they lose badly the pressure on Klopp will grow.

Should be a good game tho especially for the neutral.

Ed, just over 2 hours to Perpignan from Barcelona suggests that the French League would be the most relevant League for Barca to join but like you when push comes to shove I can’t see them leaving La Liga tho or La Liga wanting Barca to leave.
