Mourinho’s tactics on Saturday are certainly not just reserved for Liverpool he’s always played this way he is a pragmatic Manager and in a title challenge in certain games he will seek to nullify the opposition at least try and take a point and hopefully all three on a breakaway.
I don’t quite understand why no one is questioning Klopp’s tactics the game was there for the winning yet Klopp took off the two best players on the pitch in Salah and Coutinho and didn’t bring on a recognised striker until there was circa 10 minutes to go and in his post match interviews he admitted to being concerned that to go for the game might lose him the point which was also Jose’s philosophy.?

Jim, the post above should have said “and Mourinho wonβt care if itβs a nil nil draw or a one nil breakaway win even with the game being at OT.” ?

Jim, I think it all depends on where both sides sit in terms of points difference when the OT game comes around if United are within a point or two of City Mourinho will not be foolish an enough to play an open game v City and try and outplay them, City have far to much quality in to many positions and imo Mourinho will set United up not to lose in the hope they sneak a breakaway win and Mourinho won’t care if it’s a score draw or a one nil breakaway win even with the game bring at OT.
However if the points gap is more than a few points then Mourinho will know he needs to try and take 3 points off of City and he will have to to more offensive with all the risks that go with that v City.
It’s a difficult one for the United fans to swallow because their DNA is in having a very offensive side but Mourinho is a pragmatist and he will do whatever he thinks he needs to do to get him the best result.

The moans on the club sites are rightly so imo and a lot of it on the Chelsea site is fairly objective imo.
Unlikely losses for any of the top teams will always get a reaction from fans so no surprises there. Long way to go in this season and every team in the PL bar maybe City will get beaten and the responses on the club sites will be similar.

Mourinho is a pragmatist a point at Anfield is a decent point but he will have to go much more offensive if he isn’t to have any chance of catching City.
But Klopp bottled it too imo taking off Salah and Coutinho who were Liverpool’s best players and not bringing a recognised striker on until it was too late.
Klopp didn’t want to lose the game either which is why his substitutions were all so conservative he was scared of getting done on the break.

I thought the first vid was pretty much spot on and reasonable. Only criticism of it imo was that Louis needs to be at the games watching live. You can’t critique a team second and third hand.
2nd vid was a gooners type bid. “Batshuayi as useful as a condom with a hole in” was funny though.?

Ed, you’re right teams shouldn’t give up certainly not United who I think will push City the hardest but I can’t see anyone keeping up with City and I think they might well go the whole season unbeaten.

And no Mendy, no Kompany and no Aguero.

Can’t see Spurs Maverick no disrespect to Spurs who are a very good team but they’re miles behind City imho as in reality is everyone else in the PL this season.

Maverick, even putting City to one side Chelsea winning 3 PL titles in 4 seasons two back to back which hasn’t been done in almost a decade was always very unlikely.
But imo City are the stand out team this season Pep identified the weaknesses in the team/squad and strengthened where they needed to and they would be even better with Kompany,Mendy and Aguero in the team. Personally I can’t see anyone getting near them and I think they will win the title with games in hand.
Watford up to 4th now.
5th v 4th at the Bridge in the lunchtime Saturday game next week at the Bridge.

Ed, Chelsea will do well to hang on to a CL place this season imo.
I had a nasty feeling all along about the Palace game it’s was the perfect storm Palace wedged between the international break and the CL, a very difficult away ground to go to , no Morata and Kante and Palace without a point and a goal playing the Champions.
And so it proved with 5 or 6 Chelsea players not turning up today just as they didn’t turn up v City too. Arsenal’s need to be kicked hard now it’s just not good enough.
I know United were missing players but they look miles off City currently and the 7-2 win for City today was a massive statement and I just can’t see anyone keeping up with City this season.

Maverick, they are mate against Chelsea they looked just like a real Pep team I think they will win the title with games to spare but the defence is still a bit too vulnerable to win the CL imo just yet but I’m not sure they’re that far away with that either.

Maverick, they were my pick at the beginning of the season mate they’re at a different level to anyone else and have the best squad and a + 25 goal difference too!

Maverick, I think Lukaku was a tad fortunate to get away with no yellow card for the first one and on another day under another Ref he may not have been so fortunate but even in slo mo the potential 2nd yellow looked inconclusive.
Given how Lukaku played today though I’m not sure him being on or off the pitch today would have made too much difference.

Liverpool were the better team but a point at Anfield isn’t to he sneezed at Jose will be the happier Manager although currently despite the closeness in points United look a long way away from City in the title chase.
