Brilliant draw for Bristol City be a full house at the Gate for that one.
Very tasty Semi Finals look likely.

Mikus, I’m not sure you can put down sleeping through a defensive crisis for two years as Klopp thinking he’s got plenty of time.
Klopp is in a very fortunate position because at another club he might already be gone and tbh I think even FSG will be expecting Klopp to sort things out between now and the end of next season otherwise even FSG might press the eject button.

maverick, but how likely is that mate I would put Liverpool winning the CL somewhere between very unlikely and a miracle but miracles do happen as Istanbul proves.?

banjo, that’s the problem mate you’ll never see good performances with all the changes all clubs make in this competition. It doesn’t seem to get serious until the Qtr Finals/Semi Finals.

Paxton, it’s a classic quote from a legend of the game and imo fitted yesterday’s turnaround perfectly.

I had Spurs down as favourites to win the League Cup this sewson, domestic Cup’s remain Spurs most winnable trophies currently and to turn promise into reality Spurs need to start winning trophies soon.
It was a good game though and you would have got long odds at ht on West Ham turning that game around. But as the great Jimmy Greaves used to say “it’s a funny old game Saint”. ?
Lot’s of top sides left in the competition and the draw today could throw up some tasty ties.

West Ham living on the edge……. That win might just have saved Bilic’s job.

mavericks bit harsh mate realistically there’s only the FA Cup left for Klopp to win and that can all depend on the draw.

Oz, I think that’s part of Klopp’s problem mate he is trying to build a team on a football philosophy of you score 3 and we’ll score 4 it’s great if it works but it didn’t work when Keegan tried it at Newcastle and I can’t see it working now in an even more competitive PL. Cheers 999

Oz, I would be far more worried were I a Liverpool fan that after inheriting a shaky defence from Rodgers (Goalkeeper across the whole back four) following his appointment over two years ago Klopp has made no progress whatsoever in dealing with Liverpool’s problematical defence and is still playing three of the five players he inherited in that shaky defence two years on.
In a lot of club’s Klopp might well have already been sacked or at the very least drinking in the last chance saloon.
Klopp has a great personality,he comes across well to the media and he’s probably most opposition fans favourite Manager but as good as he is in developing a teams offensive play he’s been an awful Coach defensively whether he can overcome that flaw now more than two years into his tenure is a massive question mark.
This summer Klopp spent circa £75m on two more offensive players and £8m on a defender who like Moreno is much better going forwards than defending.
Personally I think Klopp has been very fortunate that questions haven’t been asked of him until now and he is still seemingly under limited to no pressure from the Liverpool owners.
Under Fenway he probably has two more transfer windows and next season to try and sort it out his best signing might be a quality defensive Coach to work alongside him but I’m not sure his ego will allow that to happen. Signing better defenders will help but if Coaching the defensive side of the game is poor and it must be for Liverpool to keep make the same defensive mistakes week in week out then signing better quality defenders although a step in the right direction is unlikely to fully solve the problem.
I like Klopp and when Liverpool are on their game offensively they are a joy to watch but it’s difficult to feel to sorry for Klopp given that he will earn more in a year than most of us will earn in a lifetime and when the problems were all solveable with the right coaching organisation and focus.

Why did Everton sell Lukaku without signing a reasonable replacement?
Not surprised by Koeman’s sacking Everton with the increased investment have ambitious objectives and are currently sitting in the bottom 3.
I don’t think Fenway will sack Klopp they will give him time to sort things out defensively.
Not sure about Carlo for either Everton or Liverpool he’s a bit too nice imo.
Massive mistake if Everton turn to Moyes.

Sadly for Liverpool fans Klopp has got a defensive blind spot in both Coaching and strengthening the defence all of his efforts seem to be focused on the offensive side of the team over the defensive side of the team demonstrated by his limited spending on defenders v offensive players Liverpool had a defensive problem when Klopp took over but 3 of those players in Mignolet, Lovren and Moreno are still playing. Why?
Offensively Liverpool are brilliant but this you score 2 or 3 goals and we’ll score 3 or 4 doesn’t work Liverpool had Spurs on edge after the Salah goal but then another defensive error took the game away from them.
I like Klopp and I like his philosophy and he is probably most opposition fans favourite Manager but if he doesn’t solve this defensive blind spot he’s ultimately a gonner imo which would be a great shame as he’s been a bit of a breath of fresh air to the PL.
Personally I think Klopp needs to appoint a defensive Coach but I don’t think his ego will let him do that. Big Sam sorted out the Palace defence within 6 weeks it’s not all about signing new players it’s as much to do with organisation and Coaching.

nb, I wouldn’t worry to much about Liverpool getting relegated mate.
The reality is that if Liverpool can sort out their defensive woes they won’t be far away from being genuine title contenders albeit not this season.

maverick, don’t forget these odds are based on how the bookies see it and on the money being wagered and the bookies are looking to protect themselves too.
The odds look about right to me City significantly odds on United very marginally ahead of Spurs, Chelsea out to 22/1 and Liverpool way out. The one I would query a bit is Arsenal’s odds given they are on the same points as Chelsea.
With the United v Spurs flash next Saturday their odds will swing around on that result.
The odds swing around based on results and the money going on look at the odds based on 5 games above and where they are now. Cheers 999

Ed, Never going to happen but I reckon big Sam would sort the problems out in that Liverpool defence in a matter of weeks.
