3rd November 2017 at 8:55 pm in reply to: Joey Barton horrible treatment towards David Unsworth #7037
David Unsworth has lost every game Everton have played under his stewardship and whilst Barton was too outspoken the theme of what he said was correct ie Unsworth wasn’t up to doing the Everton job.
Nobody would get to drive a Ferrari in F1 if they had only been a taxi driver. No offence to my good friend taxi driver now Careworker.
It’s all very well to project nice warm feelings about ex Everton players leading Everton but the reality is if it was our club none of us would want a David Unsworth to lead our club’s.
Thankfully for Everton it’s not going to happen and Everton will go out and recruit the best man available to do the job. The problem with that is the word available and realistically and ideally Everton would wait until the Summer to give them the best choices but they can’t wait and take that chance given the precarious position that they are currently in.

banjo, that’s an entirely different subject but if Spurs can retain all of their top players when paying them considerably less than the going rate at other top clubs that’s a very good trick to pull off but we’ve already seen Rose kick up about it and there may well be others going forwards time will tell.

Paxton and banjo, Everybody acknowledges the fact that Spurs are a very good team and Pochetino is a very good Manager me included.
Just because there have been question marks against Real and where they are currently wasn’t to undervalue Spurs results v Real instead it was an honestly held view of where Real are currently as a team and the reality is that Real have been pretty much inactive in the transfer certainly by their terms in buying any big players over the last three summer windows.
Real are currently averaging 2 points per game to last season’s 2.44 points are 8 points off of Barcelona have only won 6 of their first 10 games and have already lost 2 of their first 10 La Liga fixtures having only lost 3 La Liga fixtures all last season and at the weekend Real lost to recently promoted Girona all of the above are facts that pre date Spurs win on Wednesday night but that doesn’t diminish the fact that Spurs quite rightly beat Real.
If you guys think Real are at their previous/usual level despite the above that’s your opinion personally I think Real are several levels below where they were and on the way down and will require significant investment in the transfer market to get back to where they were perhaps even a change of Manager and given the history I don’t think for one minute that Florentino Perez is going to sit on his hands between now and the start of next season. But time will tell.

Real this season look a poor team they are 8 points behind Barca and have already lost twice in La Liga compared to only 3 games lost across the whole of last season and are very very unlikely to win La Liga this season.
Injury is not helping Real but in the past two Summer windows they’ve made very limited investment and at club of Real’s stature with their ambitions you can’t afford to stand still and last weekend Real lost to newly promoted Girona.
This comment and the previous comment have nothing to do with Spurs it was a great win and Spurs are very likely to win the Group which when the Group was drawn looked unlikely so a great achievement by Spurs.
But this comment and the last one are focussed on Real and how they are currently seemingly going backwards.

Brilliant result for City. If you guys could choose one trophy to win would it be the CL or the PL?

Not wishing to take anything away from a great Spurs win but that was the worst performance that I’ve seen from a Real team in quite some time and reveals how Real ended up getting beaten by recently promoted Girona at the weekend.
Acknowledging that Real have a few injuries I can’t currently see Real getting anywhere near defending the CL or La Liga titles. The team is aging and needs investment imo.

Ed, no you won’t if Chelsea play anything like they played tonight with awful defending and really poor passing it will be a very easy United win.

Jim, Chelsea can’t pass and can’t defend which at this level after conceding a worldie in under a minute leaves you in big trouble.
Funny thing is between the first goal and second goal Chelsea looked the better team.
United up next.?

Chelsea v Arsenal at the Bridge for me standing on the West Bank with my Dad 3-1 to Chelsea I won’t reveal the date but a clue is that England played Scotland on the same day and it was an historic England win.?

30th October 2017 at 11:51 pm in reply to: Joey Barton horrible treatment towards David Unsworth #6846nb, rightly or wrongly in respect of any appointment how someone presents themselves rules them in or out at interview stage often in less than the first 30 secs.
Unsworth has said he would like the job full time Kenwright would have already appointed him by now but Moshiri is seemingly after catching a much bigger fish and he has the biggest say.
Leicester gave the job to Shakespeare and if proved the wrong appointment Unsworth could go the same way.
If I was an Evertonian I would want the club to appoint the best Manager available. Is that David Unsworth? I don’t think so.
Not great from Barton though but he’s looking to make his name as a pundit and being ultra controversial gets you noticed. Cheers 999

Barton is just trying to be a shock joke look at the coverage it’s got him.
