Nil, I’m just being realistic mate obviously I want Chelsea to make the best fist of it that they can.
Chelsea are currently on a decent run of form at the moment with one defeat two draws and 12 wins in the last 15 games which on current form would give them 88 points at the end of the Season which would probably be enough to take 2nd place which obviously should be the Chelsea target given that they are the reigning Champions.
But it won’t be enough to get past City imo because City would only need to win 10 of their last 17 games to almost certainly take the title on goal difference from Chelsea.
But we weren’t discussing 2nd place we were discussing overtaking City and that still looks 200% like Mission Impossible to me.

Nik, Can will go on a free his contract runs out at the end of this season and Liverpool will be lucky to get £20m for Sturridge they will need bigger sales than that.

CMan, you’re right Hazard suffers numerous brutal challenges week in and week out and gets little to no protection from the Referee’s.
Adlab, we’ve been here before Zaha should be charged but we need a season long panel for consistency.
Ironically even could Zalah have been sent off for diving it was so late into the game it would probably not have benefited City anyway.
City not the same team without the little Magician I’m not sure what his family problems are but I hope he solves them shortly.

Nil, City would have to lose 5 of their next 17 games for Chelsea to catch them and then Chelsea would have to win almost every game.
It won’t happen. City are far too good and Pep far to astute for that.

I would have been surprised if Coutinho went to Barca before next Summer but the Nike thing makes you wonder.
Whatever Klopp says £113m net spent across a couple of years another circa £60m to be spent on Keita with a £19m loss from the last accounts you would think Liverpool will have to do some sales out and Coutinho is an easy sale out and wants to go?

Even if City were to drop 2 points or even a very unlikely 3 points both Chelsea and United would still be 14 and 15 points away respectively.
It would mean nothing tbh other than City could do with extending their lead in order to rest players either side of their CL games which they’ve got a real chance of winning imo too.

CMan, to be fair on the Van Dijk situation Mourinho was asked the question in a press conference and Klopp did say last season he would rather give up football than pay the sort of enormous fees United were paying.
Mourinho’s biggest problem is Pep and City across the road running away with the PL and they have a history too.

Given Liverpool’s last financials which showed a £19m loss with Liverpool’s net spend under Klopp according to This is Anfield detailed below and with Keita to join in the Summer for circa £60m it’s difficult to see how Liverpool aren’t going to have to make a major sale particularly with needing to adhere to FFP but we’ll see

All Managers can fall out with players Pep fell out with Ibrahimovic at Barca and had to sell him.
Plenty of the players that Mourinho managed speak glowingly of him so I don’t buy all this he can’t Coach and players don’t like him. When things are going wrong at any club there’s always unhappy players and an unhappy Manager.
You don’t win multiple League titles in 4 different countries if you can’t manage and inspire
players.Jose’s biggest problems are that he has the capacity to be a prize plum and a complete Arsenal at times he grates with the opposition fans and preaches to the media all of which has turned him into a bit of a pantomime villain. Plus he has “the noisy neighbours” ripping up the PL
If the majority of the regular match going fans turn against him though then he could be in trouble but I’m not sure that’s the case of yet.
