CMan, indeed it was mate see my post@10:04am.?
Tbh sadly I think us Chelsea fans probably have to prepare ourselves for life without Conte and Hazard from the Summer. Hope I’m wrong though.

All rumours currently Mav. Still hope Conte stays but he will have to commit himself to another three years imo.

Saw this on that other site and it made me chuckle so I thought I would share it:
“Sanchez has released this statement this morning:
βBefore, I was happy to sign for City because I was going to play with De Bruyne, Sane, Silva, and Aguero β but when Mourinho offered me the chance to play alongside Phil Jones, I could not refuse.βSo there you have it. Shame, I think he would have fitted in nicely at City.”

Ed, all great points.
As good as Conte is there is a problem between him and the club in respect of transfer policy which imo must have been discussed prior to Conte being appointed that’s what seems to be behind the current situation at Chelsea and presumably that’s why Conte didn’t sign the extended contract on the table although he took the significant increase in his salary.?
My own take on it all is that Conte when he accepted the role knew how the club managed their transfer business but after winning the PL in his first season with a new contract on the table Conte pushed for more control of transfers but nothing got agreed which is where we are now.
The above was similar to the problems Conte had at Juve and he walked.
Personally I think Conte should have the first and last word on transfers but very few Managers stay for long United had Fergie for 20 odd years but even they’ve had 5 Managers in the last 6 seasons so I can somewhat understand why the club through a DOF have a significant say on transfer strategy.
If I was Roman without I was sure that Conte was staying on for another 3/4 seasons I wouldn’t let him buy too many players in January or spend too much next Summer with just a year left on his contract.
If Conte doesn’t agree to an extended contract by the Summer sadly just like with Hazard I think the club has to say thanks for everything but we’re letting you go selling you to Real.
Having said all that my choice would be both signing new extended contracts. Cheers 999

Rob, I agree with you re Zidane. Personally I wouldn’t want him because of what you say.
Just a bit of a throw away by me in a desperate attempt to retain Hazard.?

CMan, we’ll see the FA quite rightly react strongly to these sorts of things but it was a long time ago and Holgate was only 15/16. More likely imo that Holgate will get a warning for the tweets but it’s entirely up to the FA.
I do though think Holgate should be charged for the shove as it could have caused serious injury to Firmino.

beni, I think we’re both on the wrong thread but some seemingly have tried to use the tweets as an example of what kind of person Holgate is.
Holgate’s was responsible for the shove on Firmino and his reaction to what he deemed was racial abuse from Firmino.
What Holgate tweeted at 15/16 has nothing to do with either action by Holgate if the FA charge him for the tweets that’s another matter entirely.
Like you I think Holgate should be charged with dangerous play for the shove on Firmino.

Nil, given that Mane was red carded, that Ederson could have been seriously injured and you agree that Mane should have been sent off Mane clearly wasn’t “entitled to go for the ball”.
But that’s in the past and it’s pointless us all debating it now especially when there’s such a mouth watering game to look forward to.

I don’t think Sanchez will be poor going to City. He knows Pep and imo has already made up his mind that is where he wants to go and at 30 next birthday imo it will be more about winning trophies than the money and currently City give him the best chance of doing that.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Conte go in the Summer he will only have one year left on his contract by then and without he agrees to extend it that would leave Chelsea in a difficult situation in respect of Summer recruitment.
All sorts of names have been thrown around as replacements if that’s what happens but it’s all pure speculation.
Given that Hazard has stated that he wants to play for Zidane I would go for him!?

If we want to stamp out racism in football you can’t charge and or criticise someone for reporting what they believe was racism towards them otherwise we will never stamp it out look how Holgate reacted to what he believed was said.
There are three incidents here:
1) the tweets which are completely unconnected to what happened between Firmino and Holgate.
2) the shove by Holgate which could have ended in serious injury to Firmino.
3) the alleged racism.Let’s wait and see what the FA investigation throws up.

Mourinho is a spoiler and would love to spike the Sanchez to City move.
However I suspect Sanchez has already made up his mind that he wants to play for Pep at City. Time will tell.

To be fair it’s a retrospective award and Real did the double last season of La Liga and the CL which makes their decline this season all the more surprising.

If Real Madrid aren’t having a very poor season when they are trailing Barca by 16 points in La Liga and have just been stuffed 3 nil at home by Barca then I’m not sure what constitutes a very poor season for Real.
How poor a season Perez and the Real Board consider Real are having will I am sure be reflected in their Summer transfer dealings!

The Fabregas penalty incident took ages but as Paxton says we will get used to it.

Hh, must admit the wait on the two potential decisions that VAR analysed last night seemed endless.
