Morata has lost his confidence and Chelsea don’t have a suitable alternative currently. Barkley might add a bit more of an attacking dimension but it’s so long since he started a game he needs handling with care.
3 nil Nil’s in consecutive games is poor but at least we’re keeping clean sheets.?
The players need to get their brains into gear though or qualifying for the CL will be very difficult.

Mav, as I said I’ve not seen it or heard anything about it and more importantly none of the media have picked it up over here and run with it which they surely would have had it been a proper interview with direct quotes do it sounds a bit spurious to me mate but I think Conte will probably gone in the Summer anyway.
Sooner if Conte doesn’t do something quickly about 3 nil nils on the trot!?

Mav, not sure where you got that from I’ve not seen anything from Conte’s Wife giving an interview and saying she is homesick and wants to return to Italy.
Where’s that come from?
I can’t believe if it’s from somewhere that is a credible source because if it was from a credible source our media would have been all over it.

Mav, I don’t think even United are in a position to bid Β£450m for Neymar and I don’t think the Glazer’s would approve it and I don’t think even Real are silly enough to pay Β£250m more than PSG paid Barca for Neymar.

Sean, you’re spot on and that should be the compromise Conte confirms the areas he wants too strengthen and his priority choices the DOF and his team of Scouts put a list together inc Conte’s priorities and it then comes down as to who can be secured at half sensible prices.

We’ll explained by CMan.
This problem is all about having more control on transfers I would imagine the rules on transfers in and out at Chelsea were agreed prior to Conte joining Chelsea and he accepted them.
But then he won the PL, Chelsea offered him a new extended and much improved contract but with the title win in his armoury he pushed for a much bigger say on transfers and ultimately the stand off on transfer policy meant he signed a deal for the improved contract without the extension.
It’s got nothing to do with his family as they have been with him from this season.
“I want to clarify my family stay here, not in Italy. My daughter goes to school here, when I want to write something I want the truth, my family stay here.” Antonio Conte
Both sides need to give a bit on the transfer situation but I’m not sure they will and if Conte doesn’t sign an extension I think he will leave by mutual agreement at the end of thieves axon with only one year to go on his current contract.
It’s all very Chelsea.? But all very frustrating for Chelsea fans.?

Sean, I don’t think there was any intention by Mane but as you say it was a red card and I don’t think the Liverpool fans will react negatively to Ederson.
Be interesting to see what happens with Sterling I’m sure he will get some stick and mentally he seems to have struggled with it at Anfield previously be interesting to see whether Pep has improved his mentality too.

Re the format. Club sites only work when there are a decent number of posters who are posting on them regularly currently the only three club sites working successfully on TT are the Liverpool, United and Chelsea sites and club sites didn’t work at all on Footyplace because the community was too small.
In my opinion the Ed made a very good decision making sure every thread appears on the Community section and imo it’s keeping the site lively and interesting as it continues to develop further.
Nothing needs changing on here imo the Ed has done a fabulous job setting up a site that is instant and user friendly.
We’ll never all agree with each other 100% and what a boring site it would be if we did.

“I think itβs great like this, as it actually encourages you to read posts that you wouldnβt normally. The way it is now is like a number of football mad blokes down the pub.”
Great analogy Hightown.
I think you’re right “the site is going from strength to strength”. Cheers 999

I still hope Conte signs a new extended contract and stays at the club as unlikely as that may currently seem.
The sticking point in all this seems to be how the club’s transfer strategy is managed and that was the reason Conte left Juve too given that and the fact that both parties must have discussed the club’s transfer policy it’s difficult to understand why this has become such an issue.
If this doesn’t go away and it won’t without the club and Conte come to some sort of agreement and he signs an contract extension which was on the table to sign last summer driven by the media lots of names will be bandied about the majority of which will be pure shots in the dark and wrong.
Personally I’m not going to get too involved in discussing any of them whilst Conte remains in place.

Given the limited number of posters currently on the site as it develops ( and imho it’s developing very well) Nil would just be posting to himself the majority of the time if he was posting on the Liverpool club site on here and other than Liverpool fans no one else was allowed to post on the Liverpool site.
Realistically imo certainly currently everything should appear on the Community site to keep the site interesting and everyone involved.
Liverpool v City is one of the classic games of the season and eagerly awaited by all and this thread should attract posts from the whole site and it’s a better thread because of that.
Nil is Nil and you won’t change him his ideal is a vibrant Liverpool site that only Liverpool supporters are all!owed to access that only accepts positive posts about Liverpool which is clearly never going to happen on any football site and unfortunately Nil suffered from the same problems he often demonstrates on here on the TT Liverpool site which ultimately got him banned.
Overall Nil is a decent lad but he wears his heart on his sleeve and unfortunately late at night after a Cider or two will take umbridge with something someone posts about Liverpool.
I do think he needs to stop all these silly rants but I’m not sure he can and then it comes down to is everybody prepared to accept Nil for what he is and from an Editorial viewpoint does the Ed have the time to deal with it all.
Can Nil be encouraged to accept he’s got to do things differently is the key question?

Pagan, you’re right and currently City think Sanchez wants to go to them which is presumably why they are sticking with their Β£20m bid.

Pagan, just looked up the meaning of indefinite which is “lasting for an unknown or unstated length of time.” Seems a bit wooly to me.
Definitions aside let’s hope this low life never gets to watch a West Ham home game again.

According to Guillem Balague it’s all about the size of the City offer.
Allegedly City have currently only offered Arsenal Β£20m for Sanchez whereas United are seemingly prepared to meet Arsenal’s price which is allegedly Β£35m.

Jim, I would like to think you’re right but indefinite seems a bit loose to me whilst lifetime means forever to me.
I really hope it means a forever ban for this low life.

Totally agree Jim although I think it should have been a lifetime ban rather than the indefinite ban reported.

CMan, I watched his press conference and I thought Conte said all the right things and is seemingly commited to at least seeing out his current contract.
The club’s transfer strategy is seemingly the sticking point both sides need to give a bit over that and the perhaps Conte will extend his contract.
We need to give someone the time to build something meaningful and that doesn’t get done in 18 months but equally I don’t think the club can go in to the Summer window with Conte only commited to next season the top players that we will hopefully be trying to sign I don’t think will come to Chelsea to play for a Manager who will be gone by the end of the 2018/19 season.

Barca and City are the two best footballing teams in Europe currently and it would make a great Final.
But unfortunately it can’t happen though because Chelsea are going to knock Barca out of the CL in the Round of 16.?

red2,good to see you posting on here buddie.
You’re very confident ahead of Sunday.?
To be fair Liverpool are great in forward mode and defensively they do have a decent record at Anfield but very few teams attack Liverpool at Anfield. City though are multi talented across all of the offensive areas and they will attack Liverpool.
May the best team on the day come out as winners and let’s hope the game lives up to all the expectations and ends with 22 players still on the pitch. I’m really looking forward to it.
I’ve gone for a 2-2 draw. Cheers 999
