Sean, I think there’s a bit if money left over a bit more will be invested in the Summer especially if you can shed one or two like Sturridge but it will be difficult to sell him without its a play and pay deal.
I think a quality Keeper is a must for Liverpool this Summer and Can will probably need replacing with VVD in already and Keita to come I think Liverpool will be pretty much ready to go next season and havd a real good go at the PL title.

TBA, Batshuayi unfortunately is not good enough imo he can’t hold the ball up and bring others into the game, too often loses possesion and he doesn’t run into the right positions.
He’s has eye for a goal but they’re primarily knock ins.
Plus he wasn’t a Conte signing and he clearly doesn’t rate him.
Not sure where he goes from here with him Chelsea won’t get anywhere near to recouping the money they paid for him even Moyes isn’t interested in him and he needs a move now probably outside of the PL to rebuild his confidence and to see whether he can develop further.
CM the loan deal for Tammy was until the end of the season and is contractual the only way Chelsea can bring him back is if Swansea agree to him coming back .

Klopp suggests no more January signings by Liverpool in his press conference?
So he won’t be competing with Chelsea for Crouch then!?_____________________________

Nil, I agree mate and have always said Refs do a tough job and have to make decisions in seconds that we get to see from a 100 different angles and in slo mo one hundred times over.
I’ve done it in the parks with kids teams and it’s not easy and can only imagine how tough it is given the circumstances that Refs have to face in a Stadium holding sometimes upwards of 60,000 having to make immediate decisions.
Clearly no super slo mo is a disadvantage to the VAR sitting in Stockley Park and hopefully given what happened on Wednesday night and how the PGMO have seen it and reacted to it they will look to ensure that’s something that the VAR has to call on going forwards and like you I’m for anything that might help the Referee’s. Cheers 999

Nil, As I said in my previous posts to you “that’s the problem mate it all still comes down to human error. I would say ultimately we will be better off with VAR than without it but it is never going to be full proof.”
“To be fair the reason that VAR is going through this trial period it is, is to iron out the kinks in it and yesterday’s incident hopefully might help towards doing that. Last night was not such an important game but you wouldn’t want it happening in a CL Final for instance and changing the course of a game the wrong way.”
As per what I said above I’m not looking to write VAR off but no Super SLO mo as compared to what we all saw on Wednesday night needs to be addressed and I think it will be during the trial period. Cheers 999

Nil, this isn’t about Willian not being awarded a penalty it’s about VAR its potential problems and where it goes from here.
Up until the last 24 hours nobody knew that the VAR monitoring the game at Stockley Park didn’t see the same TV pictures as the rest of us and didn’t have Super SLO mo available to him.
This is a thread based forum mate if you don’t want to read comments on a particular thread its very easy to just skip by that thread.

Jim, we’re in for Gazza and he fits the profile perfectly ancient and injured.?
I agree with Banjo above though 99% of the stories are nonsense is Mahrez still having his medical at Melwood for instance?
Let’s wait and see what is the truth and what is the fiction but the consistency of the stories suggest that Chelsea are looking to sign a short term big target man as they were in the summer when they tried to sign Llorente and on a loan move until the end of the season which suggests it may have something to do with not spending big on a player that a new Manager might not want should Conte depart in the Summer as now seems likely unfortunately.

“The video referee who failed to overturn the key decision in Chelsea’s controversial FA Cup tie did not get to see the super-slow-motion replay that viewers at home were shown, it can be revealed.
Chelsea forward Willian should have been awarded a penalty after being tripped by Norwich’s Timm Klose in Wednesday’s third-round replay but was instead booked by referee Graham Scott for diving.
Those watching on the BBC saw a super-slow-motion replay that showed Klose made contact with Willian.
The video referee has access to 12 camera angles but does not see what is being broadcast on TV or listen to commentary in case it influences him.
But video referee Mike Jones, who watched the incident more than 10 times on his monitors at Stockley Park in west London, did not have access to those pictures so could not correct the decision.
Those in charge of the video technology trials feel this was their first significant error and accept it is a work in progress.
The Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMO) did not wish to comment but insiders know the Willian incident should have been overturned — and believe it would have been had Jones seen the super-slow-motion replay.” Kieran Gibb article in the Daily Mail 19/1/2018.

Mav, a fit Daniel Sturridge is worth a lot more than £30m but he’s never fit. I can’t see any club paying £30m without its based around a play and pay deal.

Suggestions that Sanchez will sign a four and a half year contract with the whole deal costing United £180m. Mind boggling if accurate but Sanchez is a great player though and may well help United win major titles over the next few years

After the match, Klose said: “I think it was a penalty. I think I caught him if I am totally honest.”. Who needs VAR. ?

It’s beginning to make a bit more sense now listening to Graham Poll being interviewed on the radio Mike Jones stationed at Stockley Park did not see the TV pictures we saw last night he had his own feed with different pictures.
According to Poll he’s been told on very good authority that Jones has admitted that had he seen the pictures we all did last night he would have advised the Referee to give a penalty.

Nil, A Ref’s view:
What a shambles. On Tuesday at Leicester I heaped praise on the video referee.
After Wednesday’s game I’m baffled. When Norwich defender Timm Klose brought down Willian in the box in extra time, I can understand Graham Scott not seeing any contact. I can understand him thinking the Chelsea forward dived – but that’s why we have the technology.
Video referee Mike Jones should have said, ‘No, there’s contact, it’s a trip. It’s a penalty.’
Graham Poll.

‘You saw VAR work perfectly last night (at Leicester v Fleetwood),’ Shearer said on BBC. ‘You’re seeing why I was very doubtful about it now.
‘It’s a shambles. Who on earth is looking at that screen at Stockley Park and doesn’t think that’s a penalty?’ Shearer added on Twitter: ‘VAR. Carnage!’
Dion Dublin added: ‘It’s a shocking decision, honestly. I don’t know how they’ve got it wrong.’
