srd, except if you read Conte’s actual quotes he didn’t complain about anything he merely answered the questions factually and I doubt anyone can objectively dispute the answers he gave.

Just for the sake of accuracy Banjo here’s how Conte answered the questions asked of him in yesterday’s press conference.

I suspect most would see the answers provided by Conte as statement of fact rather than your accusation of “whinging”.

Indeed what Conte said reflects almost precisely much of what has already been said and discussed on here.

“In this moment there are two teams in the League who are at the top and they will stay there, the others have to fight for a place in the CL. These two teams are very strong already and they want to invest. These two big club’s can become seriously dangerous for other teams in the world. ”

On the Sanchez transfer Conte said ” We never were in the race,ever. Only one or two clubs can pay this type of salary. United can do it and they paid it”!

Banjo, you do realise that Conte was answering questions in a press conference as to why Chelsea didn’t move for Sanchez and he answered truthfully that Chelsea couldn’t afford him and only two clubs in the PL could afford him ( interestingly enough that was the consensus view on here too).

Alternatively perhaps he should have said I’m sorry I can’t answer that question because my club long before I joined them and before FFP was introduced spent an awful lot of silly money on transfers!

Banjo,nobody has denied that Chelsea spent silly money right up until FFP came in but Conte was answering questions on the here and now and why Chelsea weren’t in for Sanchez.

Conte was answering questions on the current situation and the fact that Chelsea couldn’t match Sanchez wage demands and therefore were never in for him. I think Klopp said similar.

We could have a sensible debate about that or we could just score cheap points your choice lads.

Mak, I think there’s every chance Liverpool will look replace Coutinho but the January window is not a good window to try and do business in.

I suspect at the end of the season Klopp will deem both Karius and Mignolet not good enough and he will buy a new Keeper, a replacement for Coutinho, plus Keita this Summer.

Shame BC couldn’t hold on for the draw but over the two games the Robins gave it their all despite the obvious gulf in class.

Brilliant though that our two little lads got to see Aguero, David Silva, KDB and Sane live and in the flesh they’ll never forget that. Congrats to Man City on getting to the Final they’re a super team.

Liverpool beat the Champions designate one week and the next week they lose to a team who are favourites for relegation that’s football for you.

What last night did demonstrate though is that Van Dijk won’t solve all of Liverpool’s defensive problems and Coutinho will be missed especially in games like last nights.

It’s not all doom and gloom for Liverpool though they have been on a great run are a point better off than this time last season and still have a very good chance of securing a top 4 place.

Mak, UEFA will need to get the support of the club’s to make any of this happen and if the ECA don’t like it there is the spectre of a breakaway CL competition which would kill UEFA.
