Mav, I’m not sure you’re right mate Michy can score a goal primarily against week opposition but the rest of his play is generally poor. Giroud would be a good short term decision for Chelsea imo providing he comes at a reasonable price. Having said all that I wouldn’t be against keeping our powder dry until the Summer especially given the uncertainty over Conte.

Mak, the Coutinho offer was enormous and the player desperately wanted to go there even though it’s not possible to replace him in this window it’s probably the right decision imo.

Sturridge to WBA is good for Sturridge but bad for Liverpool imo especially if Firmino were to get injured.

Klopp though will have to defend those decisions to FSG should Liverpool drop out of the CL places.

Tbh if I was a Liverpool fan I would be more worried about Klopp letting Sturridge go when Liverpool are looking to progress in the CL and nail down a 4th placed spot.

CMan, let’s see what happens personally I think Giroud is a decent short term signing providing we don’t pay too much. Actually Contes choice according to his quotes was to have 3 strikers but he suggested Michy wanted regular football in order to seal a place in the Belgium World Cup squad.

Sean, Giroud to Chelsea at a reasonable fee does sound like it might be on.

Arsenal have agreed a fee for Aubameyang circa £60m an Arsenal record but Dortmund wont agree it until they get a replacement in on loan and seemingly they want Michy who Chelsea won’t release unless they seemingly get a replacement in ie Giroud??? Cheers 9

I get why Sturridge might want to go out on loan but doesn’t it weaken a Liverpool squad chasing a CL place? Especially if they get an injury or two up front. Other than saving in wages I can’t see a benefit to Liverpool.

Adlab, I can understand the strength of your reaction on the Bennett tackle and it does look ridiculous but the FA won’t re Ref games Bennett was given a yellow card and once that happens they won’t go back to it albeit the punishment doesn’t match the offence.

That has nothing to do with David Gill that rule applies to everyone so it’s not anti City mate.

Jim, that tackle was x rated and has no place in the game and City players have been on the end of a few of late so I get where you’re coming from mate. The entertainers should be protected Hazard is the most fouled player in the PL and some of them are nasty. I was disgusted with what Warnock said about the Sane tackle. Hope Sane recovers quickly.

Liverpool on their day are great going forwards and with Coutinho were probably the second best team in the PL in forward mode but they are too vulnerable defensively even with Van Dijk to be considered the second best team in the PL imo
