13th February 2018 at 5:50 pm in reply to: The Summer Transfer Window – Early days but important #15494CMan,I don’t think it’s to early mate because there’s a lot that will happen at Chelsea between now and the end of the Season probably commencing with the appointment of a DOF.
This is potentially going to be the most important transfer window taking in all of the potential circumstances into account of the Roman era

I’ll eat my hat and Jim’s if City as a club and the City players aren’t personally recognised for their achievements this season which will surely end as a record title winning season and perhaps much more. I don’t care what anyone says this City side imo is the best PL team I’ve seen.
If their not it’s a travesty and I will personally write to Theresa May and complain.?

Mav, just to be clear I am for Nil not against him and I hold him in great affection and the Ed will tell you that I have always been supportive of Nil off site and have positively expressed to the Ed the importance that I feel the site has for Nil.
I just think a bit if tough love might help Nil a bit more than anything else now.
That’s just a personal view mate, maybe I’m right maybe I’m wrong and thankfully it’s not me who has to take these tough decisions but the Ed and I leave it all up to him.
Tbh I’ve gone far to far into all of this and beyond now and I’m not going to get involved in it any further. Cheers 999

Maverick, with respect mate you are one of the very few on here to know my circumstances so you should be acutely aware that I know what is and isn’t important in life probably better than most.
My views expressed were with Nil’s best medium to long term interests at heart and in support of the Ed in having to take these difficult decisions.
I didn’t intend to get involved and only did so to be supportive of the Ed in difficult circumstances for him.
I should have probably followed my original instincts and said nothing so that’s it from me. Cheers 999

Mav, I’ll ignore your post at 3pm!
I’ve held my hand up to making a mistake offered to resign my role as Moderator to the Ed and personally apologised in writing to Chucky off site with an explanation.
Really sad to see you throw that into the mix tbh and it certainly doesn’t help with this discussion.
I’ve given a personal view and truly believe Nil needs a bit of tough love to help him out and Nils current ban is clearly a reflection of everything.
My views were based purely on trying to help Nil out and given your post above I will back out of all discussion on it now. Cheers.

Ed, it’s a tough one and I feel for you and Nil over it all.
Personally I don’t think Nil should come back without he agrees to adjusts his behaviour and agree to cut out his outbursts and rants as Paxton said at the weekend potential posters visiting the site and seeing them are unlikely to want to join.
I think a curfew would help as would not posting until perhaps a day after Liverpool set backs but as you say Nil has to agree to that to make it work and stick with it.
I’ve got a real affection for Nil and believe he brings something different to the site that others don’t but that has to be balanced against his behaviour on here and whether he can control it or not.
To be fair he’s been banned three or four times now in a few weeks but sadly he comes back after a few days and does exactly the same.
My personal opinion is that Nil needs a bit if tough love now to try and help him get this right and it might be good for him and the site for him not to return until pre the World Cup but whatever you decide Ed you know I’ll support. Just my view and others particularly Mav might see it differently. Cheers 999

Maverick@12:22pm Mav, come on mate that’s not very helpful and a tad unfair towards the Ed and the action he thought appropriate which was clearly based on a whole host of misdemeanours ftom Nil with Nil only being back on the Site for a day and kicking off again.
The majority on here have an affection for Nil me included but the Ed has to consider the whole site and the impact that Nil has on it with these regular rants and how it might keep other posters away from joining.
Pretty much everyone from the Ed down would like to see Nil back posting on here providing he can do so in a controllable way.
Putting up #comebackNil is unhelpful to all imo including Nil and a tad disrespectful to the Ed to who has to make these difficult decisions based on what he believes is best for the site overall.

I’m not sure Conte will be at Chelsea from the start of next season whatever happens.

I feel sad for Nil and to be fair to the Ed he’s tried really hard to keep Nil on the site probably harder than any previous Editor before him.
There’s just this negative Gremlin lurking in the background who keeps coming to the fore that brings Nil down.
Nil’s a good lad really but until Nil can rid himself of that Gremlin and it stays rid I’m not sure football
/football forums are good bedfellows for Nil and taking Nil off the site indefinitely is more an act of kindness by the Ed than a punishment.I hope Nil can sort himself out and return to the site as he really does add to it when he’s got his sensible head on but for his own good he has to bring his Sensible head back to the site.
Perhaps if Nil does come back he should apply a self imposed cut off hour on when he posts and impose a self ban on not posting after a Liverpool defeat/set back because imposing the above would cut out the two triggers that seem responsible for most if not all of Nil’s problems on here. Take care Nil.

Jim, I think he gets a say mate but not just all his own way. Bonucci at Β£50m and Sandro at Β£70m for instance the Board were reluctant perhaps understandably given the age of Bonucci for the price and the price of Sandro.
Don’t forget as a ckub we’ve let all of KDB, Salah and Lukaku go on the basis of a Mangers whim.

12th February 2018 at 5:13 pm in reply to: Champions League: "It's a Knockout" Stage (Goonies need not apply) #15353Love you too be right Sean but I can’t see it right now.
I concur pretty much with Hightowns’s last 8 although I think the Juve v Spurs tie and maybe the PSG v Real tie could go either way.

ppt, me too mate but who knows. Thankfully no Bakayoko tonight and there was a rumour that Chelsea were appealing the one match ban to see whether it should really be a three match ban.?

Previous form won’t count for anything on the run in.
Chelsea have had a lot of problems and have been missing a lot of important players and one to eleven when everyone is fit Chelsea are a match for anyone in the PL.
Circa 76/77 points should be enough to qualify for the CL which means Chelsea will need circa 27 points from the 36 available over the next 12 games but they need to win tonight for sure.
Tough but not impossible imo.

Aguero is a brilliant player. Why on earth Chelsea looked at buying him way back when he was at AM and didn’t follow it through I don’t know but it goes alongside the mistakes in letting KDB and Salah leave.
