17th February 2018 at 1:23 pm in reply to: The Summer Transfer Window – Early days but important #15829Exactly Mav forget both Benzema and Bale he’s to injury prone and anyway it would destroy Chucky.?
I would much rather we kept Hazard but if he says he wants to go to Real I would reluctantly accept but Real then need to come up with the right offer before the end of May if not Chelsea should tell them Hazard isn’t going anywhere.
Chelsea shouldn’t give a stuff about what Perez says and they should tell Real the price is upwards of £150m not a penny less and it could be upwards of £150m in cash or include one or other of Isco or Asensio plus cash and if Real don’t agree to the conditions that Chelsea set by the end of May Chelsea should tell them to go and swivel.

Although I think Klopp could do with winning a trophy and winning the FA Cup would have been a good start I think it’s to Liverpool’s advantage not to be in the FA Cup firstly they are more than likely to be the only PL team still left in the CL without FA Cup commitments ( barring any shocks) and secondly it takes out the potential of additional tough games in the FA Cup which is very likely given the teams still left in the competition (subject to results over the weekend.)
SoLiverpool can concentrate on finishing as high as they possibly can in the PL and going as far as they possibly can in the CL.
It may not have seemed like it at the time of West Brom eliminating Liverpool from the FA Cup at Anfield but every cloud has a silver lining.

17th February 2018 at 8:34 am in reply to: The Summer Transfer Window – Early days but important #15812You just can’t tell with the transfer window so far away but if Hazard goes to Real I think Chelseaman is right Chelsea will be favourites to get Asensio and or Isco and Isco is big buddies with Morata too.

17th February 2018 at 8:29 am in reply to: The Summer Transfer Window – Early days but important #15810It’s sad to see what’s happened to Sturridge in Liverpool’s title challenging season admittedly alongside Suarez and Sterling he looked the best striker in England but injuries have robbed him of his career.
As Hightown says nobody will pay decent money for him now and who would take a chance even on a play and pay basis.

Firstly this was Hull stripped of a number of their players.
But Chelsea played some scintillating football especially in the first half Willian was outstanding Giroud scored a lovely goal and holds the ball up and brings others into play so well and Hudson Odoi played the whole of the second half and demonstrated his great potential and Fabregas played this game with a sand wedge chipping lovely little balls all over the pitch.
But Ampadu at 17 looks some player he and Christensen at the heart of the Chelsea defnced could play together for years . This boy is classy and wouldn’t look out of place starting against Barca.
We’ll done to Willie too great No 2 to have.
So pleased for Conte he’s been through some s**t over the last few weeks wth even some of his own fans turning on him but once again the match going fans told him how much they think of him.
And suddenly through all of the dark clouds and the rumblings of thunder a little ray of sunlight breaks through.
At least until Tuesday night!?

Christensen is a very good player and worth a lot more than £60m imo.
2 years left on his contract and Spurs won’t want to lose him. They may have to start offering higher wages to their top players and Spurs need to start winning trophies too to keep them all happy despite the classy Stadium taking shape.

Pagan, history does seem to repeat itself with Jose. It’s a shame because he’s a great Coach as his record demonstrates.

Hightown, apologies mate I meant the West Ham game and as you say the big win very Porto jeans you can rest a little if big hitters prior to the United game. All good for Liverpool.

16th February 2018 at 3:26 pm in reply to: The Summer Transfer Window – Early days but important #15774Be a shame to spoil all the uncertainty. ?
However…….
“Jurgen Klopp is ready to abandon plans to pursue Roma goalkeeper Alisson as Loris Karius’ hopes of establishing himself as the long-term Liverpool number one have increased.
Liverpool are likely to need another keeper at the end of the season as the recently demoted Simon Mignolet is sure to seek first team football elsewhere.
But with Karius showing encouraging form since being confirmed as undisputed first choice, a massive outlay on a new keeper is increasingly unlikely.
Liverpool have been left in no doubt how much it would cost to secure Brazilian international Alisson, his Italian club suggesting only a world record fee would trigger negotiations.
Klopp is not interested at values suggested to be as much as £70 million, especially as his instinct is to give Karius a prolonged chance to secure his position. Daily Telegraph.

Hightown, whilst I think Klopp could do with winning a trophy I think getting knocked out by West Brom might do Liverpool a favour in the PL in getting the highest position possible 10 days off pre the United game can’t do them any harm especially when everything is so tight from 2nd to 5th.

I agree with Paxton Liverpool are getting better but City and United will spend really big again in the Summer and City are already significantly better than anyone else it’s difficult to seeing anyone catching City bar United who are the only club that can get anywhere near to matching their spending.

15th February 2018 at 8:59 pm in reply to: The Summer Transfer Window – Early days but important #15725TBA, reportedly there is no buy out clause until/if Spurs activate the one year extension clause in his contract.
Putting aside what Spurs may or may not be offering in terms of salary Alderwierald is 29 in a couple of weeks so I can understand Spurs not wanting to give him a 5 year deal and if he were to move I’m not sure too many would be prepared to offer a 5 year contract either.
Chelsea for instance if they were interested in him wouldn’t offer a 5 year contract to a 29 year old.
You may be right and all of the press may have got it wrong or as you say it may be a press plot to get him to Manchester or Real or as Chucky says it might be part of a press conspiracy to bring Spurs down after a brilliant performance.
As Chucky rightly says time will tell. Cheers 999

15th February 2018 at 5:18 pm in reply to: The Summer Transfer Window – Early days but important #15716Chucky, all the reports suggest that a buy out clause is already there and will kick in in the Summer if Spurs trigger the one year option. All suggest that Alderwierald is only on 50k pw and wants parity with Kane and Lloris.
“The Daily Mail reported that talks between Spurs and the centre-back were close to breaking point as Alderweireld demanded a salary in excess of £110,000-a-week, which is the club’s current pay ceiling.
The newspaper claimed that Tottenham were unwilling to give into his wage demands and there was no middle ground in sight.”
There are also reports of Alderwierald’s frustrations of not coming back into the team and it’s reported he held a 2 hour meeting with Poch last week to discuss it.
Time will tell mate. Tbh I admire Spurs stance on wages but it will be something that causes them problems given what others are earning at other clubs. Cheers 999
