You’re ignoring the circumstances there Ed.π
Everton almost got relegated last season they sold their best player didn’t replace him and spent pennies on the squad and they’ve been really poorly managed from the very top too in fact they’re a complete mess I’m not saying Frank was the right Manager he wasn’t and he shouldn’t have taken the role but even Pep would have struggled under those circumstances.

“If I were Dyche I wouldnβt be answering my phone until Everton have appointed a new manager!”
Made me chuckle Lucky.πππ

24th January 2023 at 3:56 pm in reply to: January Transfers 2023 (All I Want For Christmas is….) #203264Not unexpected it was always going to be a matter of time I don’t think it will make an enormous difference a Β£50m player will cost Β£10m a year now instead of Β£6.25m a year from next Summer if it was a 8 year contract and only Mudryk has one of them.

Bielsa is another risky choice imo and he doesn’t speak English which will hamper him.
Dyche until the end of the season would be my choice if I was an Evertonian and Dyche would accept that.

Frank should never have gone there impossible job they sold their best player and then spent pennies after only just surviving relegation last season this was always going to happen. Short term Dyche is probably the best option they need someone in quickly and to bring a couple of players in in this window.

22nd January 2023 at 2:14 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 21 – All Good Games :-) #203201I don’t think Liverpool’s problems are necessarily down to the loss of Mane I think last season took it’s toll on Liverpool and the midfield doesn’t have the legs anymore to press like they have previously.
I don’t think we’ll see the press back with any consistency until Liverpool rejuvenate their midfield.

21st January 2023 at 4:22 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 21 – All Good Games :-) #203172Think you’re right Sean although I think both Liverpool and Chelsea will finish higher up the PL I can’t see either of them making the CL.
I wouldn’t write Liverpool out of winning the FA Cup if they can get past Brighton away and they get some decent draws they’re potentially quite capable of that.
Hand on heart I would be surprised if either of them are capable of winning the CL.

21st January 2023 at 3:14 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 21 – All Good Games :-) #203167With all Chelsea’s players back from injury especially James, Chilwell and Kante plus Felix and Muddy I could be tempted to put a Β£1 on Chelsea for the CL too.π

Lucky, I’m pretty sure that the Italian football authorities will have gone through this situation in great detail before handing out the stringent punishments they have that information would presumably be available to Spurs.
If it widens out into punishment by FIFA and UEFA as suggested it might by Sky that would give Spurs a problem and it would be difficult for Paratici to continue but if that doesn’t happen and Paratici has done nothing wrong at Spurs I’m not sure what action Spurs could take without both parties come to an agreement to separate.

19th January 2023 at 9:03 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 20 – Manchester and London Derby #203105Awful errors by City. Pep must be pulling his hair out.π
8 points behind Arsenal with Arsenal having a game in hand will take something very special to pull that back if City lose this one it really is Arsenal’s to lose.

Much more chance of PSG and Spurs being in the same competition in Europe. UEFA rules prohibit joint ownership Clubs competing in the same competition’s. Ratcliffe owning Nice would currently not be a barrier to him owning United. Like the Ed I suspect Ratcliffe will get outbid by wealthier potential owners from the US and the ME.

There are no rules to ban an owner from owning one club in each of a number of different countries, and according to a 2021 study by Play The Game, 15 English clubs were part of a multi-club system β the most of any country in Europe.16 Sept 2022
What wouldn’t be allowed is both Nice and United competing in the same European competition which looks highly unlikely given their relative strengths.
