As bad as it could be for the Club and fans of the Club.
The restrictions announced are to ensure Roman doesnโt make any money out of Chelsea going forwards he never has of course.
Chelsea FC are an asset itโs in nobodyโs best interests to run it into the ground especially when there are buyers prepared to pay a substantial sum for the Club.
The sale of the Club will clearly be taken out of Romanโs hands now.
Summer transfers and new contracts wonโt be agreed until a new owner buys the Club.
Chelsea fans are in for a period of great uncertainty.
The Government has also sanctioned Romanโs UK properties itโs not in the Governmentโs best interests to let those properties fall into a state of disrepair as the Government will want to get the best price they can for them.

Sean, I’ve consistently said Conte lost me in his second season he’s a great Coach but the second season was painful and it got worse as the season went on in the end I couldn’t watch his press conferences.

Mikus, I didn’t have any problems with the way we played under Conte and tbh he talked himself out of the job at Chelsea.
Sarri won the Europa League personally I think he deserved a bit more time and another season but seemingly he wanted to go back to Italy.
I guess it depends what you’re looking for from a Manager United are seemingly looking for a longer term strategy and Conte doesn’t fit that bill he’s a great Coach though and a proven winner everywhere he’s been but so far he’s never managed to go past two seasons anywhere.

Mikus, most Managers have delivered trophies at Chelsea we might well have won the same trophies or even more under another Coach.
You can’t change history though, what happened under Conte happened but I wasn’t sorry to see him go.
Conte has never gone past two years at any Club and there is always problems and falling outs which is seemingly why United didn’t want him.

Mikus, Conte always wins trophies but it’s an uncomfortable ride particularly in season two if he doesn’t get his own way, great Coach but short term, he’s never gone past season two and has fallen out wherever he’s been. Eventually I was pleased to see him go every press conference became a confrontation.

I don’t think United were doing well under Ole particularly towards the end of Ole’s reign it was awful and it was clear the players weren’t behind him.
Unfortunately the long term appointment of Ole was the wrong decision from the start and his CV didn’t justify that appointment.
No Manager at any Club will get time if there is no sign of progress and they continue to lose games.
The Ed is right when he says all football fans are fickle, no matter the Club no matter the Manager. In respect of Klopp he had won the CL and the PL and had a lot of credit in the Bank with both FSG and the Liverpool fans but had that poor run of results continued in a period where Klopp wasn’t at his best over time he would have come under pressure look what happend to Rafa and Dalglish they were both Liverpool legends and Frank Lampard was a Chelsea legend but they all went the same way.
United’s problem right now is the future managerial choices available are limited it’s confirmed by the Ed’s view that ten Hag is probably the man who United should be appointing but even now he’s not sure he’s the right appointment.
Short term Conte was probably the best choice for United and I think he wanted it but I think the Ed is right it might have bought a couple of trophies in but over a 2 year period Conte would have spent a lot of money on senior players and then when he didn’t get his own way he would have thrown his toys out of the pram and moved on/been moved on which is how it’s been across his whole career.

“Feel for Everton. They keep making terrible manager appointments. Lampard another one who is clearly not up to the job.”
You might be right Ed but whoever came in to replace Rafa was facing a massive uphill task at Everton they were/are in a real mess and whoever was Manager would have faced a massive struggle to get out of it.

Harry back amongst the goals again with a 5th. Imagine where City would be now had they managed to sign him.

Everton have been poor an Og and Goalkeeping error too. 4-0 now almost straight from the ko very damaging defeat for Everton which also hits their goal difference.

Ed.they were all candidates for the interim role only.
I’m not sure where Rangnick will fit in at United come the Summer it seems like there will be a lot of potential overlap there?
Still could be worse you could be ownerless.๐

Ed. Favre,Valverde and Rudi Garcia were all allegedly in the frame with Rangnick.
I agree with you re ten Hag he’s managed a leading Club but in a much lesser League and United would be a huge jump up for him but the options are limited and as you say you have to roll the dice.
Still think Poch is United’s best bet if he’s gettable.

“Good points mikuis. Say ten Hagg comes in the summer. If he finishes 8th in his first season, will he be given another few seasons to continue building? Most clubs want instant results . ”
That’s the conundrum Sean. Conte would have almost certainly given United a couple of seasons of instant success but he’s a today Manager spends heavily in the transfer market and throws his toys out of the pram when he doesn’t get his own way. Whilst ten Hag will look to build something long term but will there be the patience amongst the fans and the hierarchy if they then outside the top 4 and win nothing?

Ed.you’re right of course making an Interim Manager appointment is never easy half way into the season I just think United should have gone for a Manager rather than someone who had spent so much of his career in the last decade as a Sporting Director.
I’m not sure the Consultancy role was ever really part of United’s long term plan seemingly they had to offer Rangnick more than the Interim role to get him hence the Consultancy role whatever his terms may be in that role there seem to be a number of people at United who will overlap that role which could be problematical going forwards.
But if that was United’s plan it makes more sense but tbh I’m not sure it was.
There were other candidates for the Interim role at the time who were all 100% Managers to be fair it’s easy to be critical now because Rangnick doesn’t seem to have made too much difference. Personally I think United should have gone tried to get Poch and bought his contract out at PSG but that’s yesterday’s news and you can’t turn the clock back.

“The issue at Utd is the players.” Not just the players imo Sean the hierarchy messed up by bringing in a man who wasn’t a Manager but a Sporting Director who has only managed in 2 of the last 10 seasons his last season being in 2018/19.
