Conte on his future at Spurs it’s either his way or no way.

You would think Roman Adlab it’s still his Club he won’t be getting any money for it under the terms of the sanction but he will want to pass it on to who he thinks will be the best fit for the Club going forwards.

But who knows in this situation the most important thing whoever the new owner may be and how he may be selected is to get the Club sold asap because it can’t survive in the current circumstances.

Personally I favour Nick Candy if he can raise the finances.

Various reports suggest that Roman Abramovich has now reached an agreement with the Government for the sale of the Club and that the sale will now go ahead as it’s the Government’s wish that the Club be allowed to be sold. Reportedly the cut off date for all bids is now the 18/03.

YB, I think the requirement to refrain from the chanting of Abramovich’s name related to the period of remembering Ukraine at the beginning of the match.

It’s difficult for Chelsea fans to forget the previous 19 years of Abramovich prior to the terrible events going on currently in Ukraine.

Hightown, tbh I don’t think chanting Abramovich’s name means fan’s don’t care about what’s happening in Ukraine. And the fans at Norwich weren’t just chanting for Abramovich they went through the whole Chelsea repotoire.

As I said in my post Ukraine transcends everything imo.

Where Chelsea go from here will be dependent on a new owner, selling to buy in the transfer market which has been very much the strategy in the past 5 years anyway and bringing through our own Broja, Gallagher, Gilmour, Ampadu and Colwill could all be added to the squad in the Summer at no outlay.

But it’s very uncertain times if you’re a Chelsea fan currently and worrying, any fan of a football Club if they were in this position should understand that. Neither the Club, the players or the fans are responsible for what’s happening in Ukraine but all of them are being punished.

Hightown, the fans can’t and won’t forget what Roman did for the Club over 19 years.

I’ve supported Chelsea and have been going to the Bridge from when I was in short trousers and had season tickets for the best part of 25 years too.

I can’t pretend I’m not worried about what the future holds for the Club but my concerns for what’s happening in Ukraine transcends everything.

You’re right Sean Havertz is playing very well and his inclusion allows Chelsea’s play to be quicker.

I think Lukaku’s problems stem from his injury lay off pre Christmas and his Covid and the loss of both wing backs who where integral in providing the crosses into the box.

Lukaku does provide a different option when both wing backs are fit ultimately though there may not be a way back for him?

The Three statement above is another blow to the Club.

Sean, the only way forwards is for the Club to be sold and sooner rather than later.

These sanctions aren’t normal football sanctions they won’t be overturned but hopefully the sanctions can be reworked the loss of revenue from limited ticket sales and no merchandise sales could push the Club into administration if it goes on too long.

Additionally under the current restrictions Chelsea will lose Rudiger because they can’t offer him an improved contract and currently won’t be able to sign a replacement.

I know the Government are trying to protect any revenues going to Roman but Roman has never taken any money from the Club in fact the reverse and there must be a practical way of ensuring that no monies go to Roman though I doubt they ever would have.

Nadine Dorries confirmed the accuracy of the Telegraph story above from the Government’s viewpoint in her interview with Sky.

“Downing Street has said it is “open to a sale” of Chelsea, after the club’s billionaire owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the Government over links to Vladimir Putin.

Britain included Mr Abramovich on a new list of seven oligarchs to have their UK assets frozen on Thursday as Britain turned up the heat on wealthy individuals with close links to the Kremlin.

The move has left the future of the Premier League side shrouded in deep uncertainty. Although the club have been granted a licence to continue operating, the Government has barred Mr Abramovich from proceeding with his plans to sell the club, which has reportedly been valued at around £4bn by the Russian tycoon.

However, the Prime Minister’s spokesman said that a new licence could be granted to the club by the Treasury to facilitate its sale. He added: “It’s fair to say the Government’s open to a sale of the club but it would require another licence.” Standard 10/03

“The Telegraph claim the sale of Chelsea can still go through if Abramovich allows the government to take over the process and decide where the funds, thought to be over £2billion, from the deal go.

A special dispensation will be given if the sale is in the best interests of Chelsea that does not benefit Abramovich.

‘HM Treasury may vary, revoke or suspend this licence at any time,’ the licence states.

The report states that prospective buyers have not been told whether Abramovich will consider this option, but it’s claimed one suitor has insisted their ‘interest remains just as strong’ and it’s hoped ‘a solution can be found’.

Abramovich will likely agree to the terms, with the alternative threatening the future of the club he’s owned for close to two decades.”

The above is the Club’s best option to try and get the Club back on some sort of an even keel going forwards.
