Lucky, your post from the Independent puts meat on the bones of the fraud charges and if accurate is pretty damning, reading the Independent article would make me very nervous if I was a City fan.

Discussions on Sky this morning suggested the charges are less about FFP and more about fraud?
City fans trying to defend their Club is understandable but attacking other Clubs that haven’t been charged with anything related to the City charges nullifies any defence.

It’s a tough time for City fans currently and I can understand they are looking to take a more positive outlook on what might happen.
I can appreciate why some City fans might want to stay away from the subject which is likely to be in the news for quite some time, the most logical thing maybe for them is to ignore threads on this subject rather than get caught up in deep discussions on the subject.
I think it would be a shame if any City fans stopped posting on here because City have been charged by the PL which is understandably going to get discussed on here as they are an important part of the site imo.

Adlab, hitting out at everybody else doesn’t help anybody least of all you personally this is going to go on for a long time so you will need to keep calm over a long and difficult period.
City have to defend 100 plus charges that’s a tough ask particularly as they’ve already been found guilty of some of them by UEFA which were only timed out by CAS because UEFA had a time out rule which doesn’t exist in the PL rules.
Tbh if found guilty I don’t think City will be stripped of titles or they will be relegated both are far too messy I think it’s far more likely if found guilty there will be points deductions and transfer bans.

Lucky, City signed up to adhere by the rules, according to the PL they’ve broken those rules over 100 times.
I would be amazed given the CAS investigation that preceded this and the outcome of that investigation where City only avoided punishment because the UEFA rules timed them out with the time out not existing within the PL rules if City don’t struggle to avoid punishment this time.
Di Marco is just predicting how long he thinks it might take to fully resolve this case which is up to 4 years which presumably would include an appeal process.

Prominent Sports Lawyer Nick Di Marco estimates the City case could take up to 4 years before reaching a conclusion.

Expanding the number of teams to 60 or 80 would just dilute the quality and it certainly wouldn’t be a Super League imo, this proposal needs kicking back into the long grass it’s all about generating more cash for Juve, Real and Barca.

I agree with Adlab and his Barrister pal this looks certain to be a drawn out process with a likely appeal process too.
The PL can’t set a time scale and outline the ramifications that would be putting the cart before the horse.
This is a PL investigation rather than an FA investigation I’m not sure where the FA would come in and go out or for the need of the FA.
Stripping City of titles and re awarding them is a can of worms there’s European places and relegation places to take into account potentially too if that were the case and there’s no glory in being awarded a title retrospectively by default.
Relegation should City be found guilty doesn’t work because it would effect Clubs in the Championship one of whom wouldn’t be promoted the most relevant punishments imo are a points deduction together with a transfer ban should City be found guilty of the most serious of charges.
But they have to be found guilty first which could run into years once the Lawyers get involved deciphering and arguing the merits of 4 years of evidence.

Adlab, I don’t think any of us should be rushing to punish City innocent until proven guilty and all that.
However City’s problems are 100 separate charges and the fact that UEFA have already found City guilty of some of those charges which were only overturned by CAS on a time out basis which doesn’t exist for the PL so this time won’t be applicable.
4 years of investigation will create an enormous body of evidence to consider none of us are aware of the PL evidence or City’s counter evidence so it’s all in the melting pot my gut feel is that the City lawyers are really going to have to earn their money like never before this time around.

This is an investigation to assess whether City have actually broken PL rules etc what comes out of that assuming it is to City’s detriment might then get legal.
Until it all concludes then City are innocent until proven guilty and this whole thing could run for a very long time with legal appeals etc.

Ultimately all Managers are judged on results I would like Potter to stay at Chelsea and I suspect he will be given at least until the end of the season but results will need to improve to go past there.

Spurs played their perfect game and what an achievement by Kane. City off the boil again if Arsenal hold their nerve they should win the title. City just not the same this season.
Can’t understand Pep leaving KDB out and Haaland is completely isolated and hardly getting a kick. Really poor mistake by Rodri for the goal.
Maybe Conte should stay at home more often.😊
