“Dermot Gallagher says VAR should have advised Anthony Taylor to take a look at the Marc Cucurella hair pulling incident as it was a red card offence by Cristian Romero.
Tottenham went onto score from the resulting corner from the incident.”

Yesterday’s conflict between Tuchel and Conte is not an isolated incident I was watching Arsenal All or Nothing last week and Klopp and Arteta almost came to blows at Anfield last season.
Controversial goals scored will always add to the problem.

VAR was awful yesterday I can almost accept Richarlison being judged not to be interfering with play when in an offside position but VAR taking no action for the hair pull on Cucurella by Romero was unbelievable. It’s not the technology that’s in the wrong it’s the people managing the technology that are at fault ie Mike Dean who was the VAR yesterday. I can’t believe Dermot Gallagher won’t call Dean out when he reviews the decisions on Sky today. It won’t help Chelsea but Romero should receive a retrospective red card for pulling Cucurella’s hair.

Good game not sure when pulling a players hair in the box wasn’t a foul.
I said I would be happy with the draw but I think we deserved a bit more today.

“Acid test later today. This may tell us what Spurs are made of.”
If Spurs were playing City or Liverpool you might be right Nil.π

“I do believe Haaland will be a force despite an average start.”
Haaland didn’t look average last week though Rover.

Difficult to know where to start the Argentinian Centre Back Martinez was a poor selection today given Brentford’s physicality. Next game v Liverpool is a massive challenge now.

“Everton just donβt have the players. No centre forward and badly missing Calvert lewin”
That’s about the size of it Sean the Everton squad is poor they’ve sold their best player in Richarlison and seemingly there’s very little money to invest and because the squad is so thin they can’t cope with injuries to key players like Calvert Lewin. It looks like another tough season for Everton no matter who the Manager is based on their current circumstances.

Tricky game for United I think they’ll come out with a narrow win, A City win and Liverpool back to winning ways. Arsenal to beat Leicester, big game for Frank away to Villa, tricky game for Chelsea I would be happy with a draw.

Chucky, no regretfully I agree, Son is a great player imo. I’m hoping for the usual outcome on Sunday but fear that may not be the case this time round right now I would happily take a draw.π€

Never ever going to happen but I would love to see Son at Chelsea.
If I could choose just one Spurs player it would be Son. He would certainly be in my PL team of the year.

Love you Sean but hot on the heels of claiming Raphina to Chelsea was a done deal I saw you were claiming similar re De Jong.π

They got there in the end though Ed.
Phew eh!
But it’s not helped all the negativity currently surrounding United.
Nothing that a couple of decent signings between now and September 1st might help dispel though.π

I would be slightly concerned if I was a United fan that the majority of ten Hag’s focus in the transfer market seems to be centred around Ajax/ex Ajax/Dutch players.

True enough Nil the points totals Liverpool earned in the last few seasons would have been enough to have claimed multiple PL titles in previous seasons and it’s unfortunate at the height of Liverpool’s powers they are having to compete for the title with a team as good as City’s.
I don’t think it’s true that Liverpool didn’t get recognition for what was a very good season by them, I think they did get recognition from both the media and opposition fans alike.
The media will always react to the the latest performance’s of both teams and players last week the positivity was all about Liverpool and Nunez this week it’s all about City and Haaland. That’s the way it goes buddie.

Nil, I think you’re over reacting to the first weekends results and performances.
Rarely do two such very high quality sides as City and Liverpool come along at the same time one or other will almost certainly win the title and it’s very difficult to predict which one.

Haaland is going to score a bucket full this season he has so much pace and is a natural goal scorer.
