Former Manchester United full-back Mikael Silvestre says that although he understands fans’ concerns, he feels that they should be focusing their energy on supporting the team rather than protesting. “You can demonstrate as much as possible, but right now, what the team needs is support.”

Rover,”surprised they never went in for more new players seeing they have the wealthiest owners in the world”. As per Eddie Howe they can’t Rover they have to keep within FFP.

Nil, a tad unfair on Cucurella just digging him out. Chelsea were poor all over the pitch today.

Chelsea did probably pay a bit over the odds for him but saying he’s not even worth £10m is a bit silly he was Brighton’s player of the season last season and Pep was prepared to pay £40m for him and he’s no mug having led City to 3 titles in the last 4 seasons.

Well done to Leeds who were excellent and worked really hard.

Ridiculous mistake by Mendy and taking nothing away from Leeds who were excellent Chelsea were poor all over the pitch and didn’t work hard enough. And finally pure stupidity from Koulibaly!

                  Relegation 6 pointer v Leicester next week.😊

Ed. yes I understand that and that the protests have been going on for a long time even during the successful times but as you said the other day we don’t get to choose our owners for good or bad.

If the “Protests have historically had little to no effect on the Glazers” you question why keep having them but I guess there’s no where else to go though.

Saw the highlights on MOTD this morning Foxy you can’t get a clear picture from that.

But the stats still show Leicester only had one shot.

I think there’s a bit to be put right at Leicester currently it’s all a bit uncertain.

Ed, yes I get that but the rumours that the Glazers are considering selling United are based more on hope than fact on the back of a poor United start in the PL, the minority sale and Ratcliffe’s people raising their head above the parapet and talking up Ratcliffe’s interest in buying United.

So far the only indication is that the Glazers are considering a minority sale and that the Glazers have no intention of selling United in totality.

You can’t rule out the effect the Glazers have had on United’s spending but a lot of money has been spent on the wrong players which has not got anything to do with the Glazers who are often a convenient excuse imo.

Nothing wrong with having a demonstration as long as that is what it is and providing it doesn’t disrupt the game in any way.

Yeah I get that Ed and Ratcliffe as the new owner would probably unite the United fans too although personally I don’t think fans protests should be getting games called off.

Foxy, Leicester dominated possession but they had 6 shots to Southampton’s 9, 1 shot on target to Southampton’s 3 and 2 corners to Southampton’s 5 and Rodgers himself admitted that Leicester lost their way in this game.

I’ve got no idea why Rodgers hasn’t been allowed to strengthen the team but that’s not helping and neither is the transfer speculation re Fofana and Madison which one way or other will be over by September 1st. If money comes in you would hope that Rodgers gets to spend some of it.

A top 6 finish looks a tad optimistic currently.

I see that Jurgen Klopp is claiming that if United fans protesting against the Glazers causes so much disruption that the game has to be called off as previously then United should forfeit the game with the 3 points awarded to Liverpool.

He’s probably got a point but I can’t see it happening if that’s the way it goes which would be a real shame.

Nil, Gerrard was successful at Rangers but it’s a poor League and a two horse race for the title every season Villa is a much tougher role.

It’s a nice story Gerrard going on to manage Liverpool but he’s got to be good enough to do that and in fairness he’s got plenty of time to turn it around but I wonder if he will ever be considered good enough to manage Liverpool.

“Gerrard won just 3 in 14 now. Just looks frustrated a lot to me.”

It must be frustrating for former great players to manage average players and watch them struggle Mikus.

Leicester look to be in a bit of a mess to me and they’ve not bought a player to date the Everton squad just isn’t strong enough.

Brian and Adlab, very good cause.

Barcelona announced the fixture at a press conference in June, attending by former Barca manager Guardiola and current club president Joan Laporta.

They were joined by the club’s former goalkeeper and coach, Juan Carlos Unzue, who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) two years ago.

All proceeds from the match are set to go to Fundacion Luzon, an ALS research charity.

“This is an honour for us,” Guardiola said at the time.

“We want to thank Barca for inviting us to this wonderful venue. We will tell our players why this matters so much.

“It is admirable, and Unzue’s words show that. I am very happy to come. By doing this, Barcelona has once again shown why we are the best.”

While the reasons behind the unusual fixture are undoubtedly honourable, the decision to stage it three weeks into the new Premier League season – and just three days before the club’s next home game against Crystal Palace – has raised a few eyebrows among supporters.

All proceeds from the match are set to go to Fundacion Luzon, an ALS research charity

“Why is Man City playing a friendly after the PL season starts?,” wrote one fan on Twitter.

Despite the charity match’s close proximity to the Palace game, Guardiola has suggested he will field a strong team in Catalonia.

Nice one Stevo.Comfortable win for Arsenal, Wolves could be a tricky game for Spurs with Nunes scheduled to debut I’m torn between a Spurs win and a draw but I’ll go with a Spurs win, Palace v Villa draw, Everton v Forest draw, Fulham v Brentford a win for Brentford, Leicester v Southampton Leicester win.

Chelsea desperately need a striker even at 33 I think Aubameyang could do a job for a season.

                                            Both still to happen though.
