I think all games this weekend are likely to be postponed. The Premier Leagues problem is where they fit the postponed games in with the schedule already packed due to the World Cup.

Jose did a combined 5 years Mikus.π
I think you might see a change in Policy the owners haven’t been hire and fire in the States the Dodger’s Manager has been in position for 6 years and is just about to sign an extension.

Sean, Klopp has plenty in the Bank so he’s under no immediate pressure but it’s a results based business and FSG will be expecting Klopp to turn things around as I suspect he will.
However if that doesn’t happen ultimately there are no guarantees despite his previous achievements no Manager is immune from the sack if they are not getting results.

The Potter situation seems to be accelerating very quickly.

True enough Lucky but will Brighton let Chelsea speak to him and if so will Potter be prepared to leave such a comfortable role for such a pressurised role? We’ll know soon enough.π

I like Potter but I would be worried Potter to Chelsea could be like Moyes to United.
I quite like Poch but he’s only ever managed to win something in a one horse League.
Very unsure about Zidane.

Very surprised I thought Tuchel would have been given until at least the World Cup.
I like Potter but I don’t think he will leave Brighton.
Please not Bielsa.
Poch you would think is in with a chance.
SSN’s are reporting Chelsea have sought permission to talk to Potter? They say Poch and Zidane are also on the list?

Adlab, I would have been disappointed to have been on the recieving end of it. Should have ended 2-2.
Progressing well up and down stairs now which is a big step forward but had a set back elsewhere. Thanks for asking . Cheers 9’s

I thought Arsenal played some lovely stuff at times definitely the best Arsenal team for some time imo I thought Arteta probably was a bit too previous with his substitutions and from there they lost their way.
United are functional with a hint of luxury and progressing under EtH potentially they look like top 4 contenders but top 4 qualification is going to be probably the most competitive it’s ever been this season.
I fear for Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City I can’t see any benefit in replacing him who will they get whose better the problem is the quality of the squad and with limited funds even in January it’s going to be an uphill task for them.

Brian and Nil, morning lads. There’s no way that any of us can sensibly unpick Leicester’s financial situation from the outside.
What we do know is that the new training ground cost Β£100m and that the Β£80m Maguire fee allegedly went towards financing that it does look a terrific facility.
As far as the Fofana fee goes I doubt Chelsea will have paid it all up front there is a sell on clause to St Etienne I’m not sure for how much and Β£15m of that fee was spent on a replacement.
The owners main business is the Duty Free business which understandably has been hit badly by a lack of Airline passengers traveling due to COVID leading to much less business in their Duty Free stores.
There is an explanation on how the Board see the current financial situation in the midweek programme v United which is currently reprinted on the Club site if you’re interested to read it. Cheers 9’s

Ed, “On 9 September 2021, Hiddink officially stepped down as head coach of CuraΓ§ao and announced his managerial retirement at the age of 74.”
Either way at 75 now I don’t think it would be wise for Guus to get in the cut and thrust of PL football again.
Given your examples you may be right tbh I don’t think anything will happen this season and Poch has to be available if and when Tuchel was to leave Chelsea but results are all defining so we’ll see.

Nil, as I said the other day the owners Duty Free business has been badly hit by COVID and a lack of people flying.
Leicester are not cash rich but the reverse the Harry Maguire money went on building the new training ground and the Fofana money Β£20m was used for signing his replacement and Leicester owe money to St Etienne for Forfana.
The owners put an article in last night’s programme to explain the Club’s financial situation.

Ed, if Pochettino was available and Tuchel had gone I’m sure Poch would feature in Chelsea’s thoughts but given the rivalry between Chelsea and Spurs it might be difficult for him to go there?
I’m pretty sure Tuchel will be given to the end of season at least and won’t be judged until then and a couple weeks ago there was talk of an extended contract being discussed talk of Tuchel being under pressure for his job after just 5 games are premature imo.
Guus is 75 now and retired from managing.Top Man though and much loved at Chelsea.

1st September 2022 at 8:37 am in reply to: Game Week 4 – Will The Real Manc Shady Please Stand-Up, Please Stand-Up…. #198459Stevo. the ban you refer to related to the signing of Academy players and had nothing to do with FFP the ban was reduced to a one window ban on appeal.

Fair summary Sean things could be different in a few weeks once the window has closed and injured players return I am worried about the lack of a striker though and we shouldn’t be here this late in the window.
Managers rely on results even CL winning Managers Tuchel needs some wins though even with new owners.

Reece James missing tonight v Southampton big loss as is Kante and Kovacic who is probably still not fit enough to start a game.
With 3 games a week from now until the World Cup missing players will become the norm.
