Nil, you’re always looking for City to drop points.π
I guess because you think City are title favourites and you are still clinging on to the hope that Liverpool will get it together and put in a title challenge no matter how unlikely that currently looks.
Derbies are difficult to predict I wouldn’t rule out any of the 3 potential outcomes although City remain clear favourites.
Back to the Manchester derby

Spurs could have done with another body in midfield today.Arsenal were excellent going forwards. Terrible mistake by Lloris. The red card looked harsh.

Brian. you’ve got me at a disadvantage because I’ve not really seen anything on this but nothing will change in the PL without a majority of 14 Clubs agree to it.

Big test for Martinez tomorrow v Haaland if he comes through it United have a chance.

Brian, any changes to the PL requires a majority of 14 and Turkeys don’t vote for Christmas that aside realistically the top 6 are pretty much guaranteed to keep their places in the PL anyway.

Red Nev turned up at the Labour Party Conference and whether you like or dislike his politics he spoke very well on all the current issues on the stage alongside Keir Starmer.

Brian,I don’t think there’s anyone on here who thinks it’s a good idea to be holding the World Cup in Qatar and in November too.
But we are where we are and I can’t see any of the suggested protests on here having any meaningful impact.
“I fear what they are proposing for British football at the moment” I’m not aware of what is being proposed for British football can you elaborate?

No suprise that Qatar disagreed with Hummel’s claims.

Chucky, personally I think Hummel’s actions of building their logo into the colour of the shirt will ultimately barely cause a ripple although I hope I’m wrong.
The Rainbow armbands to be worn by the Captains of the European teams will imo stand out a bit more and probably initially cause a bit more comment but again I suspect that will also have a limited effect although I hope I’m wrong about that too.
Terrible decision to take the World Cup to Qatar.

Hummel hiding their logo in the colour of the shirt is a pretty meaningless protest imo just don’t put the logo on the shirt at all.
The only meaningful protest by kit suppliers is to refuse to supply the kit for the Qatar World Cup. More meaningful than rainbow arm bands is for qualified nations to refuse to play in Qatar neither of which will happen of course.

I think we all agree the World Cup shouldn’t be in Qatar for all sorts of reasons but it is.
Personally I don’t think the armbands will have any impact Denmark wearing an all black kit for those that died in building the Stadiums might.
Once the World Cup starts it will be mainly about the football.
Like Brian says “I wish it could happenβ¦βleave politics out of footballβ but unfortunately it’s too late for that.

As I said Chucky “Personally I think Conte will be at Spurs next season why would he want to throw away all the good work heβs done.”
By the way after you taking to another site to accuse me of blocking you on here which was of course nonsense and after me contacting the Ed on your behalf to get you restored on here the least I think you could do is apologise.

If Harry Maguire doesn’t re-establish himself in the United squad and show some decent form between now and when the squad is announced on the basis of last night there’s unfortunately a mistake in him and I think it would be foolish to take him to Qatar although I think Southgate will whether he’s playing for United or not.

“Levy is said to have informed Conte that he has until January to make a decision on his contractual situation. Whether that be signing a completely new deal, or extending his current contract for another year β remains to be seen.
While many Spurs fans will be desperate for Conte to stay, and might be slightly worried by Levyβs tactics β a decision does need to be made. Spurs cannot approach the summer and begin planning if Conte does not want to stay.”
Seems sensible.
Personally I think Conte will be at Spurs next season why would he want to throw away all the good work he’s done.

Brian, this is a FIFA issue if there are going to be less internationals FIFA have to reduce them for every country.
“I do not think a lot of players care that much, more like a break in routine and doing something different from club football. The big risk to these jaunts is an injury risk to players when there is no need.”
Brian players can decline the call from their country they don’t, I suspect that comes down to more than a difference in routine.
Just 2 games prior to the start of the World Cup Finals I would class as necessary rather than a jaunt.
I think this has all been done to death now. I get that a lot of fans don’t like international football and that’s their right and the same arguments are always trotted out to support that view ie too many internationals, disruption to the PL,injury risk to Club players that prevent them playing in critical games for their Clubs in the PL and I’m sympathetic to all of that but we’re all going around in circles now.
Generally players want to play for their countries and they want to play in the World Cup Finals and Euro Finals and to do that there will always have to be qualifying games and friendlies to prepare for those Finals.
Last word from me on this now.Cheers 9’s

Gareth Southgate has named Ivan Toney in his England squad to face Germany on Monday night, but Trent Alexander-Arnold has missed out.
Five players have to be left out of the 23-man matchday squad for the Nations League clash at Wembley β talkSPORT.
Alexander-Arnold will not be involved against Germany.
Those five are Liverpool defender Alexander-Arnold as well as Fikayo Tomori, Jarrod Bowen, James Ward-Prowse and Jack Grealish, who is suspended.
Alexander-Arnold did not get on the pitch in the 1-0 defeat to Italy, meaning he will have played no part at all over the international break.
The same goes for West Ham forward Bowen, Southampton midfielder Ward-Prose and AC Milan defender Tomori, who were all unused substitutes on Friday.
Grealish came on for the final 19 minutes against Italy after replacing Bukayo Saka, who played at left wing-back, but picked up a booking which rules him out the game at Wembley on Monday night.
Reacting to the team news, Everton winger Andros Townsend told talkSPORT: βItβs obviously a surprise. When you are lacking an attacking threat, obviously Trent Alexander-Arnold is probably one of the best deliverers of the ball in world football.
βThat is a surprise. If Ivan Toney has to be in the squad, then someone has to miss out, unfortunately it sounds like it is Trent this time.
Southgate had tough calls to make on who to leave out his squad to face Germany
