Brian, there’s always the chance of anything happening in a one off game ie Forest v Liverpool and I’m sure the Leicester fans go into Saturday’s game with a little bit more hope now but it’s more hope than expectation.π

Unai Emery looks a good shout by Villa.

“What is 4 titles in 5 years? 80%. This is a reasonable estimate imo.
Nothing is certain, but city are overwhelming odds on favourites for title.”
Lucky, 4 titles in the last 5 years with Liverpool City’s only real challenger in that period floundering and very unlikely to challenge City this season and City even stronger with Haaland underlines why City are odds on favourites this season even though as you rightly say and we both agree nothing is certain.

Agreed Lucky me quoting the 5000/1 Leicester title win was just me trying to amplify you can’t actually rule anything out even the most unlikely.

Brian, just to clarify I posted a view after the weekends fixtures of it “Doesnβt look like anyone is going to be capable of challenging City for the title this season.”
You rightly say “I do not rule anybody out” I subsequently posted
“As to the title race the proof of the pudding will be in the eating only 8 points separate the top 6 Chelsea and Newcastle are just 5 points off of City and Newcastle and Chelsea are just 2 points off of Spurs you canβt definitely rule anyone out at this stage and stranger things have happened ie Leicester City but in reality I really canβt see a title winner other than City in that top 6.”
That’s just my opinion Brian and I’m sticking to it and if you took a straw poll on here I suspect based on previously stated opinions that would be the opinion of the majority on here too as I suspect it would be the opinion of the majority of football fans.
This site functions primarily on opinions and if people disagree they can say why they disagree or they can scroll on by there’s no need for anybody to get silly about it just because they want “anybody but City” to win the title and such reactions certainly won’t stop me giving my opinions on the title race going forwards and nor should it.
I would love to believe Chelsea are in the title race for instance and given that they are only 5 points off of City currently I guess they would fall under the ” don’t rule anybody out” category but I don’t for a minute think Chelsea are in the title race I would be delighted in a top 4 finish but even that will be a struggle imo.
As for the betting odds that’s just a bit of fun and I agree it won’t have any bearing on the outcome remembering that once Leicester were 5000/1 for the title and look what happened but it does reflect where people are currently putting their money. Peace and Love as always. Cheers 9’s

Nil, not sure where your 3rd degree comes from if it’s from Spurs fans I agree with you although the football that Spurs are playing is not what Spurs fans were bought up on but they’ll accept that if they’re winning .
As to the title race the proof of the pudding will be in the eating only 8 points separate the top 6 Chelsea and Newcastle are just 5 points off of City and Newcastle and Chelsea are just 2 points off of Spurs you can’t definitely rule anyone out at this stage and stranger things have happened ie Leicester City but in reality I really can’t see a title winner other than City in that top 6.
The latest SkyBet odds seem to confirm that too.
Manchester City
1/5
Arsenal
6/1
Liverpool
28/1
Chelsea
33/1
Tottenham
40/1
Manchester Utd
66/1
Newcastle

Nil,
“Why has Conte been getting the 3rd degree? Just canβt fathom it.”
Probably because Spurs have lost 2 games in a row and were very poor v United and lost at home to Newcastle.
“Nine @ 7:45, disagree with the first one mate. The table is speaking. The competition is a lot stronger so even if City do go onto win it, I canβt see it by such a big margin.”
I see the complete opposite they’re all pretenders. Only Liverpool have challenged City in the PL in previous seasons and it’s doubtful they will be in a position to do that this season. Outside of that the rest aren’t up to it.

Big win for Villa who scored more goals on Sunday than in Gerrard’s previous 6 games?
Newcastle away and United at home is their next 2 games though.

Very good win for Leicester I always said if they sacked Rodgers Leicester would struggle to appoint a better Manager.
Much more difficult task for them next Saturday of course v City at the King Power but nobody gave Forest a chance v Liverpool and look what happened.

Grealish shouldn’t have said what he said in respect of Almiron but that doesn’t make him a poor player. He’s not a Β£100m player but he didn’t set the buy out clause.

Declan Rice to Chelsea has been rumoured for some time and he’s a former Chelsea Academy player and massive mates with Mason Mount and seemingly if he goes his first choice is likely to be Chelsea.
He would be a good buy for anyone, problem is West Ham don’t want to sell him and if they do they want silly money for him probably north of Β£100m.

Agree Sean I don’t think Klopp will get sacked he’s got too much credit in the Bank currently. I wouldn’t bet against him walking though if things don’t beginning turning around at Liverpool that’s something he’s done previously.

Disappointing not to hang on to the one nil with 7 minutes to go but overall a draw was a fair result.
Like Lucky I was concerned in the first 30 minutes but the change to formation and bringing Kovacic on changed things around.

Injuries and 5 changes from midweek had an impact on Liverpool’s performance.
Massive win for Forest though.

Massive effort from Forest some great saves from Henderson. Liverpool not at their best today after a very good performance last week. That’s football for you.

Nil, I’m hopeless at merging threads.πOfficially it should be Game 13 but the postponed games mean we are actually on Game 12.

Well it is game week 12.π
Forest put in a good shift and were competitive but they’re very limited up front.
Probably too many changes for Liverpool but that’s the result of 3 games a week, week in week out.
Can still see Liverpool scoring.

Gerrard’s was quite a well thought out strategy, decent foundation at Rangers all be it in a poor 2 team SPL, further development in a stronger PL at Villa and then on the back of what he hoped would be a decent time at Villa hopefully in a position to be considered for the Liverpool job when and if it became available which would have been his understandable desire.
Unfortunately it’s back to the drawing board now and managing Liverpool may well be an unfulfilled ambition.
