Adlab. Chelsea played 3/4/3 which has been their normal system and pre dates Potter. Sterling replaced Ziyech in an attacking role.

The below made me larf this morning especially the “no trophy since 2008” bit and Jamie O’Hara the Spurs cheer leader generated it all.๐Ÿ˜Š

“Conte told sack talk is mounting at Tottenham as major Harry Kane fear comes to light after cup exit

Antonio Conte, Tottenham Hotspur manager is under pressure amid sack talk
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has been told recent results are not up to the standard required after another trophy avenue was shut down following a 2-0 exit at Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.

Spurs are trophyless since their 2008 success in the competition and many viewed it as their best route to success this time around.”

Congrats to the City lads on here.

7 changes from each team,Ortega awarded man of the match and a great performance from 18 year old Lewis Hall on another day he could and probably should have had 2 goals.

Overall Chelsea had some great goal scoring opportunities and unfortunately once again didn’t take them and you can’t do that against any City team.

Adlab, a different view on Bellingham from today.

“Liverpool have seen their hopes of securing the signing of Jude Bellingham dramatically fade after an intermediary of the player claimed his head has been turned by a European powerhouse.”

If Bellingham has a good WC there will be a queue of Club’s including I suspect Real Madrid who may well be the European powerhouse.

You’re right Adlab not the right thread as it’s got nothing to do with the WC.

It must be right though if it’s on the Mail online.๐Ÿ˜Š

“Reece James is set to miss out on a place in Englandโ€™s World Cup squad after Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate reportedly called him to tell him his dream of playing at the Qatar tournament was over. The right-back has been out of action since being forced off the pitch with a knee injury during the Bluesโ€™ Champions League victory over AC Milan in Italy a month ago.”

Gutted for Reece personally but pleased from a Chelsea perspective rushing himself back for the WC would have been a risk and Chelsea need a fully fit Reece for the second half of the season.

โ€œContrary to some reports, Mumtalakat Holding Company, Bahrainโ€™s sovereign wealth fund, are not looking into buying Liverpool. They have not expressed any interest and donโ€™t plan on doing so.โ€ Ben Jacobs CBS.

If accurate that would more or less rule out the Middle East bar possibly Dubai as I canโ€™t believe that the PL,FA or UEFA would sanction Saudi Arabia, Qatar or the UAE owning a second Club. So if Liverpool are to be sold and it’s not Dubai it looks likely to be another American ownership.

Ed, as fans none of us get to choose our owners whoever makes the right offer to Fenway it will be purely their decision whether they sell or not.

I’m not sure given Qatar own PSG, the UAE own City and Saudi Arabia own Newcastle there’s scope for an oil money country to buy Liverpool. More likely if not Ratcliffe is an American conglomerate bid assuming Liverpool are actually to be sold.

Liverpool seemingly weighing up both the shares and selling options.

The headline in the Boston Globe suggests that too โ€œFenway Sports Group to weigh value of finding new investors or selling Liverpoolโ€ and as the Globe is owned by Fenway you would think theyโ€™ve got it right.

Fenway owe the fans a confirmation of their intentions I would imagine the letter from Spirit of Shankly draws that out of Fenway.

Ratcliffe clearly has the money having already bid ยฃ4.25 billion for Chelsea.

I’m sure he would prefer to buy United but if the Glazers won’t sell?

Forbes valued Liverpool at $4.45 billion but it could go higher or lower if sold depending on who comes in for them and what they offer.

I suspect Fenway wouldn’t want to sell for much less than that.

Dortmund won’t be easy but it could have been worse. Hopefully by then we’ll be a bit stronger squad wise with the injured players back and maybe a signing or two. Liverpool v Real Madrid the stand out tie.

In the Europa League Barca v United is the stand out tie and the winners will be favourites to lift the trophy.
