Nil, Haaland isn’t God’s gift to football he’s God’s gift to goal scoring!π

27th December 2022 at 4:32 pm in reply to: Weekend Part Two: Week 1: Or maybe 17: Don’t really know anymore… #201878I still don’t think Arsenal will win the PL but if the keep notching up wins they could do.
Over the past decade, the Gunners have had a net spend of Β£583m. This is the highest amount for a London-based club. Players like Nicolas Pepe (Β£72m), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Β£57.38m) and Ben White (Β£52.65m) are some of their most expensive arrivals in the past few years.

Really enjoyable game well done both teams to come back and put on such a good game. Liverpool hung in there and it could have been worse but there’s no shame in losing to City.
Terrific performance by KDB after a disappointing World Cup.
Early Christmas gift in the draw for United.π

Garry Neville needs to decide whether he wants to be a politician or a pundit.

Agree with you Nil despite all the obvious problems football was the winner.
I really enjoyed this World Cup despite the fact it shouldn’t have been held in Qatar and the Final was the icing on the cake.

Agree Sean it’s hard to look past France but the odd bit of Messi magic could make a difference.

Tugay. the majority of Alvarez appearances have been as substitute, no question he’s a very useful cost effective back up striker to Haaland.

Tugay, Yep but still only 12 appearances for Alvarez in 6 months but he’s a useful back up to Haaland and didn’t cost a fortune.

Argentina v France I suspect will be a good Final.
I would say France will come through but you just canβt legislate for a bit of Messi magic.
Also how good has Griezmann been? Giroud has rolled back they years and has looked dangerous throughout, in retrospect probably a mistake by Chelsea letting him leave in 2021.

Alvarez
β¦Good buy I think at Β£15m!!Cost effective and a lot less than the Β£100m spent on Grealish but with 12 appearances for City in almost a year now Alvarez has hardly played.

Second all that Sean. Football wise it’s been a great World Cup.

Overall I think England had a decent World Cup and were probably the better team overall yesterday. It’s easier to take when we’ve played rubbish but we went head to head with France yesterday and the team didn’t let anyone down.

Diaz out for a while though Nil allegedly he needs an operation and is likely to be out until March.
