Late on Gents having finished on the late shift Tonight; Fifa 25 launch Today, oh my god 🙂 Beyond me entirely; too old for gaming 🙂
Need to sort out my Fantasy Team though. Not sure how Newcastle will pan out tomorrow lunch time, but I would expect a either a thumping City win or edged last minute with Grealish etc.
Tough tough game for us re Wolves, never an easy ride.
Gunners should be in fine fettle with goals whether or not Leicester.
Spurs-United Sunday, should be a Cracker 🙂

26th September 2024 at 1:38 pm in reply to: Champions League New Format and First Phase Matches #215751I’m hoping this will follow suit with the FA Cup. I’m noticing this season, games are dotted around alternate days and weeks rather than a ‘uniform’ which I think will ease the pressure a little bit managing multiple competitions.
The challenge whatever takes place on the training ground needs to be implemented on the pitch which isn’t easy and can take time to find your way. Squad is going to be vital, so if a player doesn’t always start, he stood really take the right attitude because his chance will come sooner or later.

Do you know what the simple answer his if I was a United fan: don’t build a team around Bruno. He will not change. Crybaby antics etc are always around the corner from coming out when he doesn’t get his own way.

I just don’t like Haaland in the way he comes across sometimes like his behaviour towards Officials and how he conducted himself to Arteta.
We know what Arteta is like though when he doesn’t get his own way, but then Pep’s no different.
I just think Man City are feeling Arsenal’s threat because let’s face it, they came super close last Sunday with all 3 points. They’re the ones that can finally end City’s winning reign of Titles. I think Liverpool still are short and in need of 2 players plus needing to be more mentally resilient.

Brighton will be tough for us but I’m glad we didn’t pair with any of the big-guns. We’ll need to bring our A game even if we start with second string. The relationship, understanding and coordination from our defence especially tidying up set piece play must improve.

Really buzzing from that. Second half dialled up than to allow West Ham to comeback which could have happened on another night. Lots of zip and really quick switch play from one side to another. More activity in dribbling spreading apart defenders.
Sending off late on had to be but absolutely nothing to take away from the display of Cody Gakpo. Fully deserved his goals and was immense through this game. Jota too deserved his goals 🙂

This is the thing mate. Teams will apply ‘gamesmanship’. But it’s the double-standards bemoaning rather than just taking it on the chin.
Football definitely a good advert. Conduct and Sportsmanship including Pep booting a Chair in anger; don’t really want to be seeing that in today’s society.
Society is screwed up as it is. Please don’t let your authority-power-wealth grow the better of you. Instead, set an Example.

And I’m not holding Michael Oliver responsible. The FA do need to get hold of this and be clear this sort of conduct and behaviour is unacceptable.

There’s quite a lot of footage being splashed on social media of incidents relating during and after the game.
I actually preferred players patting each other on the back. I saw an uglier side to Haaland what appeared to be sarcastic in the way he addressed himself to Mikel Arteta. There really was no need for that.
Jesus should not have confronted him. I think coming out of a heated affair you should just head straight towards the changing rooms.
Footage revealing apparent instructions laid to David Raya to Time-waste.
Problem in modern society more than ever is nearly every movement of yours is under scrutiny. Cameras are everywhere and before you know it, you are under the Spotlight!

Rodri is out for the rest of the season with a torn cruciate ligament in his right knee.
Could this be defining and Pivotal as far as the Title goes?

Fair point Rover.
I wonder if those thoughts of retirement have crossed Joshua’s mind?
The thing is as you know, putting the potential damage to health to one-side, this is a multi-million pound commerce mainly geared towards entertainment and sponsorship. Would he give this up whilst he’s still in a position to pull in these type of fights?

Yeah, I heard it was more about Attitude and Swagger than the time put into training. You can’t assume to be easing your way into the latter rounds, then go for the kill.
Joshua has to hold his hands up.

I don’t think on the whole Managers help themselves regardless of the pressure they may be under. This though comes with the territory. Although you would think they have a duty to conduct themselves in such way, the reality 9/times/10 when a dubious decision goes against them, the demeanour all of a sudden will change.
VAR so far this season in my eyes, better managed and not drawing too much attention to themselves. Seemingly more common-sense applied.
Player-Manager-Referee skirmishes from today, I would say that’s normal. It’s not top heavy and the dust settles once the whistle blows and players shake hands either then or further down the line out of the changing rooms.
This is normal throughout the football league and didn’t reach any levels of physical abuse/violence. Just Handbags as it should be and left at that.

CM @ 6:30 totally agree and to add to that, the facet these days much to my dislike is that teams don’t employ in a set up a conventional 2 upfront and a ilk of a midfielder in a habit of shooting outside the D. Why not?
Teams just try to walk the ball in the net. From a Neutral perspective, no criticism as such aimed at Today’s match as I did enjoy that. Gunners pretty good getting goals from set pieces.

Been chatting in our WhatsApp group whilst on 606. I knew this would happen: one caller attacking Michael Oliver and comparing him to Uriah Rennie. I just think that’s wrong.
The game was feisty and that’s understandable but an advert arguably as far as the product of the Premier League goes and definitely game of the week.
Time in addition to the pre-fixed time was justified fairly. But credit to both Teams in their own right.

I think a different gameplan for Forest this afternoon re the Amex. Should be goals in this 🙂

Would it be fair for us to be convinced that the ‘science’ on the back of assessing the examples of Bournemouth and Forest that essentially struggle against the team that sets out ultra defensive with a low block plus thwarting our wide play from creating any breakdown?
Diaz is reminding me of a cross-section of Coutinho and Mane as the main danger man. He has been immense so far. The goals what have been missed in his valiant contribution has been rewarded. We need him.
I still say we’re short of 2 more players; one robust attacking central midfielder or striker and one defender.
We need to carry on with the momentum in picking up points whilst we can because we do have winnable fixtures coming up.
