I’m with Oz Yob.
You have to be able to put together as a Manager a spine. Heard this ‘term’ whether it’s just poking fun or to pose this with some sort of a meaning; “Brendan Klopp”.
Perhaps that’s just a coincidence with the 2 Managers having similar traits placing emphasis on attacking players. I was genuinely over the moon when we signed the Ox and there’s no way I’d take him back for a refund, but we need a quality striker.
We should really have in place a finished article and then we can integrate a Ben Woodburn or a Danny Ings.
Defenders: well they speak for themselves and although Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip can play, they have to deal with further responsibility in full-back duties – they ae stretched a lot of the time and struggle with ariel threat.
We have when it comes to past history of Liverpool teams set a precedent of building from the back.
Sound call Oz.
I might well be in the minority, but I genuinely don’t feel to that point of wanting Jurgen out; not sure really what I can add on that particular part as I have a real liking for him.

Read earlier today an article in the Express in how Klopp believes we’re not too far away from a title challenge.
The goals we concede are not outright good quality from opposition albeit Man City (but 10 men in essence changed the game), but just feeble and down to the bare basics which we’re just not switched on as a unit and prone to being exposed and punished.
The guy on the BBC phone in making a point about 5 windows, does have validity. Mourinho and Guardiola are not the type of Managers to faff about. They address the problematic areas and now have stronger squads as a result.

Maverick, I saw him live last weekend my friend and he’s a genuine threat going forward and a good supplement to the attack.
I don’t know if he is sort of regarded as a Jon Arne Risse type of player, but when it comes defending, he can manage the tackle here and there, but when organising himself and dealing with pressure situations, he’s just a rabbit in headlamps.
We’ve gone backwards playing him and I don’t understand it considering Robertson was signed in the summer.

Maverick, you’re right.
Unlike us for example faffing about during our last 3-5 transfer windows, Pep Guardiola kept himself focused on addressing Man City’s deficiencies.
They now have a new and a better GK, they’ve bought Kyle Walker. He also signed Jesus plus Sane and his 4-1-4-1 formation is working.
With your boys, there are players now in either their second or third seasons and established. You needed a finisher, you now have a finisher in Lakaku to turn draws into wins. Matip brought in to protect defence, and having that striker means others can play in their positions to add balance to the team and supplement the formation the way it’s intended.
Outside both Manchester clubs, I’d give credence to both Tottenham and Chelsea to challenge, but it’s how all these teams manage other competitions alongside the prem and how they will fare over the course of the season.

Maverick 1973, I understand your point and that’s fair. Admittedly, it’s begrudging on my part than being more objective. It’s because I’m precious and wouldn’t want either of the sides to runaway with it and potentially have the league sown up sooner than later.
Of course, there is plenty of football to be played. It’s the frustrations obviously from the lacking of that extra quality from my club coupled with the media love-in. I’ve yet to have heard one speak like you on the point of 38 games.

Wonderful professional. He’s one of the few I’d say who’d pledge his future to one club and that being Spurs. He doesn’t seem that type of guy who’s head would be turned by an example like Man United, Man City or Real Madrid.

Just saw after the full-time whistle Rafa very upbeat and walking all over the pitch to shake hands with both sets of players. Fair play for him being good spirited but when a clip showed Jurgen Klopp, the look on his face summed up how frustrated he was not to come away with ALL 3 points.
He started with Sturridge, but our goal actually came from a moment of sheer brilliance by Phillipe Coutinho. I find it hard to believe with the abundance of attacking quality, how we only manage to score 1 goal.
Once again, our centre backs have a moment of lost concentration or not disciplined and tactical enough to prevent a through ball falling into the path of a Newcastle player and as a result of a lucky deflection, finds the back of the net.
It’s definitely 2 points dropped and really, we should finished these guys off for the full 3.

They don’t look like losing that’s what is frustrating chucky and the media have just fallen head over heals over them.

Good call Ed, quite a fan of Tottenham and like them. I really hope they continue to just go out there freely in expressing themselves and get those wins under there belt.
If I am forthright in expressing, I’d be bemused to hear “The Title is going to Manchester”.
When there is or when you see as a neutral genuine potential in other teams, you feel they shouldn’t hold back and try as best as they can.

About a week ago I had in my mind guaranteed goals out of this fixture because both teams have been in good scoring form and in fine fettle.
As it happens, this game effectively was tight. Man City formed nicely away from home with a 4-1-4-1 and actually asked more questions.
It needed something special and KDB was the X Factor. You need that in these type of games if you want to aspire to an away win.
I like Morata, but felt Chelsea lacked that Drogba/Costa type of a bulldog who will find an equalizer one way or another. Above all,
I expected an exuberant Chelsea and with them being current Champions, relishing Man City.
If anything, the fixture by default should automatically prevail ambience of the home team in front of their supporters relishing a Man City type of challenge, and this I felt on this evidence of today’s game was missed.

I’d be frustrated if I was a Spurs fan because I believe there’s a title challenge in them, but it’s this problem at the moment in trying to establish yourself at Wembley, plus Levy’s mindset in not overly wanting to push the boat out to strengthen the squad.
They are a well drilled side and a joy to watch when they have a proper English striker on song.

Haha 🙂 Had to reluctantly trade him out of my fantasy team and bring in Kane!
That is a shame from a Man City point of view, but they do have plenty of attacking quality so I still expect goals from both sides.

I can’t remember the last time we’ve won at Newcastle to be fair, Hightown. Even under Rodgers.
That’s why I’m not particularly a huge fan of this fixture, but there challenges that now lie ahead is keeping that momentum going and how the team responds after a midweek fixture with readiness and motivation to get the job done.
We will be back to signing out to an international break and after that it’s Man United at home, so for me, this is a key game in hope that we can come with 3 points.
To be fair, we’ve not done to badly in our last 2 outings. The good news is that Sadio is back with us and Coutinho seems to have rediscovered his shooting boots. As long as we are resolute at the back, there’s no reason why we can’t flourish this with a 3-0 victory.

M Wake, just wondered what your thoughts were on the draw yesterday?
Thought we did well to draw level and get back in the game. We admittedly squandered chances to go in front and finish off with a victory, but we’re growing a lot stronger in recent games.
Would be brilliant to regain Lallana back into the fold; the challenge now is the signature of Van Dijk in January 🙂

Maybe I’m just perceiving the changes differently to perhaps others, but if anything, to have both Keepers the allowance of game time is welcoming.
Mignolet has done better in fairness to him and naturally over Karius, he is more experienced, but Karius was signed for a reason and he has to be bedded in sometime and sooner rather than wait on the sidelines for an opportunity.
And competition is healthy 🙂

Be surprised if it was goalless, but can’t see that happening. Both teams in real flow at the moment so it’s a good time to meet and perhaps deemed an acid test for both parties as far as bragging rights are concerned.
Morata and Aguero are worth more than the admission fee alone.
Can’t wait for this for, this Saturday – one for the Neutrals!
