The Referee makes a call based on real-time and his judgement in line with the rules. I don’t know whether this would be deemed as conflict if decisions in greater quantity was overruled by somebody on a Monitor, but that’s just me playing devil’s advocate and perhaps painting a dim view.
If you have a team of officials that can work together, yes we would see a fairer game and marginal instances given the correct call.
In reality over the course of 90 mins whenever there are talking points aired on forums, at best, there is no greater than 2. So maybe the Refereeing is not as bad as one perceives.

So was it true about England bowlers back in the 80s rubbing Vaseline on the Cricket Ball? 😀 🙂

And I’d add Costa and Drogba to that list.
On the Gray incident re Tuesday, that reminded me exactly of Sturridge at Old Trafford when ‘clipped’ by Vidic. Vidic was sent off. Another incident occurred in the same game which was a Pen, but the Ref didn’t give it knowing his error of judgement on the previous.
Karma paid off and Gerrard didn’t score a hat-trick of Pens.

I never came forward if Suarez was guilty of Diving and maybe by nature that was just my red specs thinking he just made most of an opportunity.
It’s individuals like Rivaldo back in the day. I have to say David Ginola was one of the worse in the PL.

Pagan, I’ve yet to see that happen in any fan coming forward and condemning one of their own if guilty.
It’s down to the Men in Black or a Video Monitor in place during the game.

Gonna leave this one as it’s been a happy night of fun. What I’ve learned is that I’m sort of glad of no video evidence because that would I feel be more harming to the flow of the game.
Yes Refs have to be strong and accurate.
Nope, no Driving Examiner – those of which perhaps might want to immerse themselves in the park, amateur or non-league football and you would see things you would not see in the Premier League.
‘Case Closed’ haha 🙂

Chelsea Man, 😀 😀 🙂 I know! And you’re right. That’s why I’m not coming forward even now the length of time apart from Liverpool. Us brothers will show loyalty to our players mate because we recognised their genuine commitment and what they tried to deliver for us.
Nice one Pal 🙂

Pagan, in a mixture of trying to be level and giddy/slight frivolous.
There is good reasoning; This thread relates to another the consistency thread.
I was purely taking the opposite angle being that if the shoe was on the other foot where the so-called controversy bettered your team, I kid you not, there would be Roy Of The Rovers gigantic Picture Frames advertised on Ebay and nobody would care.
These are marginal instances whereby they can be perceived in either way. Personally, I don’t think Gray blatantly dived, but made the most of something from a soldier of an effort of a run, bravery and from the fall, he wanted to be rewarded.
Obviously, if decisions go against your own team week in week out, then you are singing a different tune, but how often does this happen to any football club?
If we want ‘Driving Examiners’, the 90 minutes will simply be a driving test that will add to the greed and the capitalism that has in my view overly occupied their own instalment to the game.

If that Gray scenario morphed into a scenario where it was the last minute into injury time with Liverpool on the brink of clinching the title, then I would have no incline to put the world to rights. No matter how honest I am as a person, sometimes, you think, “what the hell”, which is how it felt in the eyes of being with the Leicester Supporters.
The same to a CL Final, or England. The same if it meant your team avoiding the drop or your team qualifying for a European spot.
If we are wanting to turn to the support of the media, there are folk out there already championing diving as ‘part of the game’. Jason Cundy being one of them. I like him though because he tells it being just him rather than Adrian Durham on his high horse for example.
The Moral Compass is purely down to how strong, vigilant and accurate the Ref is.
Some idiots out there do take it that step too far, but certainly on these boards or any other message boards over my time have I seen anybody come forward in naming a player of the team they support!
If there’s not that, then what hope do we have in so-called ‘equilibrium’???
P.S. Michael Thomas Offside hahaha 😀 🙂 Somebody alter time! I blame Barnesy for not hogging the ball on the corner flag to run down the clock – we could have been on 19 by now and only 1 behind Man U!

Just got back for the game! I was freezing myself of calling for a change as this alternative City line up were in cruise control. It was mainly about 8 Gundogan, 35 Zinchenko. Gundogan is only a little guy but boy he runs and has dribbling ability – likes to run down the centre.
Leicester just lacked leadership and direction in the midfield and the game changed once Vardy, Mahrez and Gray were on.
I completely forgot about the way the shootout works. I had a incline Mahrez would miss and ironically Vardy missed too. City penalty takers for a real young bunch showed no nerves.
Seen the travelling support in which I think it was 3000 and they were a tremendous bunch – spirited in between banter and they were just elated once Bravo saved Mahrez’s pen.

Pagan, the BBC in recent times has lost it’s personalities. It’s steered in a way where there’s just ‘YES’ men and a network more than ever that’s PC.
Maybe one of the other channels or broadcasting networks could take this off the hands of the BBC or just create their own anyway.

Apparently 70 million tag now on Van Dijk which I thought already was the case and it’s reported, Liverpool won’t stump up, so could lose him to City or Chelsea.

Couldn’t put that better myself and completely agree. No longer going to take this trash seriously.
I still feel Ronnie should have at least got a mention considering this year he won 4 ranking titles and eclipsing Hendry’s century breaks and UK titles, he’s had a terrific year.
He’s wrote a book and is a regular with Jimmy White as a pundit for Eurosport.

Deary me. You’re swayed in Nine.
Thank goodness for god I’m agreed in another Cyber Space.
27 years in what I’ve learned, the BBC plan Athletes, so what?!
You rarely have now, Ian Botham, Bryan Robson, Paul Gascoigne, or even Liam Gallagher!!!
Notice???
All agenda driven to purely suit the BBC. Pointless, and it took me 20 or so years of my life to see the light.
Ronnie should have won it. What was that crap in nonsense of pointless of interview from Victoria Derbyshire? Ronnie needs protection.
