Come on Swansea – gonna miss some of this going into work a little later on – thinking of buying those tiny mp3 type digital radio I can descreetly place on me hahaha 😀
Our game I have no doubt come 3pm – first one in front of our own supporters and nothing more than 3 points come 4:45.
Tomorrow’s games look interesting too. First Monday night game at the Ethiad and could see this potentially to be a sweet 3-0 victory for Peps men in Blue.

Chucky, totally get where you are coming from and moving clubs means having to re-establish yourself elsewhere and proving you’re worth your dollar.
Pre-season should be the time to familiarize yourself with your new team mates and team set up, but a lot of the clubs now are thrown straight into the deep end of these mini-tournaments/tours so they have all that to deal with and before you know it, you’re straight into a full throttle of the brand new PL season.
I don’t think Hart knew what him quite frankly.

24 hours or so after and based on our defence selected and our keeper too away from home, I’d take this 2-1 with both hands and now use this as a springboard of positivity going into our first home match against Palace this Saturday, of a traditional 3pm kick off and put on a solid performance and nail all 3 points in front of the supporters.

Hightown, thanks for the reply.
In fairness, it’s probably easy for any of us to be swept into forming some sort of a conclusion when there’s barely one game played and another 37 to go plus extras from elsewhere – and although nothing to take away from United’s performance, I was left surprised that Joe Hart didn’t even bother to come off his line (I think for the second goal) and just watched it go in. That doesn’t sound like him at all as he’s more of a leader and a ‘get up and go after’ type of character.
Time will tell though whether he will be an asset to West Ham. Jordan Pickford meanwhile I believe will for Everton.

The bigger picture is that we’re on the right track as far as the result goes and we have 2 away goals, so on the whole, it’s a positive.
Naturally though, when there are deficiencies, this is immediately picked up on and accentuated the moment the defence is exposed – had radio commentary on.
Satisfactory above all, and we just need to see out another 90 mins.

Paxton, I have noticed that too from Jurgen Klopp after the 3rd goal. But it’s almost as if he knew it was coming. He’s reached beyond the point of venting anger and shouting at his players – already in resignation.
I wasn’t Rafa’s biggest of fans, but he exhibited discipline when it came to defending – even under Gerrard Houllier we had leaders or a partnership in Hyppia and Henchoz that worked
I hope we can get past this hurdle tomorrow as I would have us to give it a good go at the CL even if we don’t win it. That’s the least I’d expect when entering any given competition.

All 3 of those goals conceded were shambolic and we basically allowed ourselves to be bullied without exhibiting any pride. An underdog in a 3rd round cup tie at least would be more courageous.

The Neymar transfer has left us with a domino effect. Fees for players now have risen ridiculously and potentially if this trend carries on, the bubble eventually will have to burst (unless regulations are brought in).
I don’t blame Coutinho. This is now the mind and soul of a modern day player and as supporters like it or not, you have to be prepared at the prospect of losing your best player (unless he’s Steven Gerrard at his peak).
The Manager and Top Bosses shouldn’t be surprised and should have pre-empted this along time ago with the player. Didn’t Coutinho sign a new contract? Would there have been some kind of a release clause?
This is my problem with this entire scenario: If you have a transfer window designed, then every deal should be completed BEFORE the start of a new season. Traditionally in the past, the end of March was the final completion for transfers.
Clubs now don’t even take team photos. Lanzini for me would have been at least one possibility of a replacement and the best fit. The whole logic of building your squad and layering up with like for like players is to support these instances as well as injuries and suspensions.
It should never just be about one player. The business in the defensive part hasn’t been productive albeit one full-back. It should also too be implemented as a collective responsibility on set-pieces and individuals need to be vocal and be confident facing challenging situations otherwise, we may as well lay the goals on the plate for opposing teams.

Haha, impressive Paxton 😀
I picked Solanke and Klopp didn’t even use him!
Anything ranging from 75-100 points is top.

Incidentally, I end the first week of Fantasy Football on 59 points, with the highest so far being 107 – not too bad I guess lol 😀

United look like PL Champions already. While we’ve been banging our heads against the brick wall with Kieta and Van Dijk, Jose buys Matic and Lakaku. Never mind making a statement, it seems already, he has the pieces he needs to complete his jigsaw.

I’ve only been aware of this site’s existence over the last 48 hours and that’s purely because of the new season and everything as I haven’t been too bothered about football or going on message boards, so not aware of interface layouts, but I wholeheartedly back you Ed on the assertion of how individual club boards should be developed and managed particularly without interventions of other sets of supporters.
I can try and empathize with the Paxton, but unfortunately (for some), it’s the luck of the draw in relation to how many have subscribed to the site that follow ‘A’ particular team.
Unless awareness grows over the course of time, then the likelihood of the demographics is going to contain United, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool.
Teamtalk now looks like a redundant site – ghost-town and like a closing down sale especially when you consider the point of time in a brand new season. Hopefully, time and investment will be dedicated to this site which I echo on my comments yesterday to say it’s absolutely impressive.

Lakuku has had one stroll of a debut. It helps when you have a player like Matic in your line up.

True, completely forgot about that and it’s a play-off we must win!
I truly hope too there are no injuries, otherwise, next Sat could be problematic.

2 wonderful players but Suarez just edges for me – some of the reasons highlighted already by people here – e.g being able to make his own goals out of nothing – one against Norwich at Carrow Road springs to my mind when Kenny was in charge of us – mind you, he’s had a fair few goals at Carrow Road; take your pick lol 😀

Thanks Ed,
I would love for that part of the feature to be able to click on each individual team and thereafter be able to view their fixtures for the entire season. That would potentially save me from having to visit the BBC football site which is now pants after the changes they made in the summer.

I don’t know what was happening in relation to our defensive unit. This discussion though is probably better for the Liverpool message board, because we end up duplicating conversation lol, ha 😀
We were basically unorganized, half asleep and thinking that part of the game would take care of itself. Wrong JK! Your responsibility sir to sort this out!

Well, this weekend so far has seen a different and an unexpected return of results from certain fixtures, though I do feel if Rafa doesn’t set his team up right, then Newcastle could potentially get a pasting from Spurs.
I would like Hernandez to return to OT with a goal- that would be fab and to see the look on Jose’s face, hahaha 😀
Can see realistically a United win, but based on everything that’s unfolded this weekend so far, you just never know.

P.S. Lallana was definitely missed. Don’t get too why Henderson doesn’t come forward to support attacking play.

What I do find frustrating is that in relation to the pre-season the squad was thrown in the deep end and playing full-blown competitive football against quality teams. We did well too through out albeit 1 defeat (I think).
I was ultra happy to see Jon Flanagan return to the fold. JK is not standing in the way of offers coming in for Alberto Moreno, so why on earth was he even selected in the starting line up? It’s madness.
We had opportunities to kill that game off on the basis of chances falling to Salah and Wijn. Wijn is too lukewarm for me and doesn’t show enough aggression and ruthlessness in his game. This is what we lack, alongside leadership.
I love JK, but his team selection was baffling. We needed Solanke to come on for us and grab a 4th goal. We have not learned our lessons from last season in these type of games where the opposition wont lie down and yesterday reminded me of Bournemouth.
I just knew in the back of my mind that even in the final moments, we’d succumb to all the Watford huffing and puffing and concede, and we did.
We should beat Palace next Saturday and I think we will, comfortably inspite of them being our bogey team at Anfield.
