I really can’t fathom the projection of negativity towards Man United considering they are in poll position, 12 points with only really CSKA Moscow to play. Basel have reached to 9 points on the back of tonight, so just really trying to process in thought what the fuss or any remote furore is about – Q???
United WILL qualify. If anything, we ourselves are feeling more of the dejection despite finishing and remaining top of the pile!

Anyway, putting Liverpool to one side, I’m looking forward to the Juve-Barca game tonight – definitely under 2.5 goals hahaha 😀 🙂

Paxton,
sadly it’s a kick in the nuts for us and reminds me a lot like Crystal Palace. Some of those out there really felt it and you only have to look on the example of Firmino’s face because all the work and the quality undone.
If those turn of events were reversed, perhaps a few out there would be praising Liverpool for their comeback – I for one would have done.
It seems to me Jurgen knows there’s a problem. If I use the analogy of trying to squeeze miles out of an old unreliable banger of a car, then that’s what we sort of are. The irony is though that in the past, we had real senior defenders playing for us like Mark Wright, but even though he age reached over the hill, he could still do a job for us and in that unit, we really lack experience.
It’s no wonder Jason Cundy labels our Manager as Brendan Klopp. There are similarities there, and I feel the reintegration of Alberto Moreno this season is a fundamental hindrance and a backward step.

21st November 2017 at 9:50 pm in reply to: Champions League first phase: Seville v Liverpool – Tues 19:45 #7812Seville are our nemesis and seem to either get one over us or hold us back.
It must be more of a mentality thing. A win really would have been nice as revenge and banish all the badness ala the Europa Cup final.
Unfortunately, more than ever, there’s a big part of our DNA that spells whilst we score goals, we will concede goals against some raised spirit, grit, and determination. Even if their goals scored are ugly and scrappy, our fragilities will be exposed.
The last game is at home so that’s always a positive and we still have an opportunity to finish top, although Spartak purposely will make life hard for us. Some perspective though despite the way the second half panned out tonight: We are still top and still in a position to finish off the group stages in poll position.

Moments from nailing not only qualification, but Top Spot.

21st November 2017 at 9:07 pm in reply to: Champions League first phase: Seville v Liverpool – Tues 19:45 #7806Surely not written in the script.
There are 11 Liverpool players, but the one individual who really is a rabbit in the headlights is Alberto Moreno. We are succumbing to the loud crowd and the heightened intensity.
We need a Leader on there instantly to calm and slow it down. Otherwise, we’re just going to capitulate.

Often dangerous in our case when taking overwhelming leads.
The opposition find their way back. Let’s hope we don’t squander it all.

One more goal would surely put us out of sight.

It’s 2 and it’s the Roadrunner 😀
2 nil when you consider Seville themselves were unlucky not to bag their 2 opportunities.

Yeah, nail on the head Blaze Power.
So 12 games in these are the clubs so far affected:
Crystal Palace
Leicester
Everton
West Ham
West BromLeicester are a little bit higher, but the common ground with the rest is that they are all in the mix at the foot of the table.
Swansea already had their Managerial change before the start of the season and I wonder if they’re next.
Nothing like this meanwhile has happened to any of the clubs at the more higher end of the table.

Pax, get where you’re coming from there – especially those who walked away with huge pay outs for stuffing up our national team.

Brian, I would seriously consider him as a Liverpool number 2 working alongside Jurgen, but can’t see that happening as there’s already a management team in place.

Quite a fan of Heart 80s since my purchase of a new top quality DAB Radio 🙂
This a bit of a random one and as it’s soon edging towards December just had this upbeat melody a little stuck in my head from Billy Ocean. The Song: Carribean Queen

Chucky, that’s what I like about this. From a neutral point of view it’s refreshing to see a different team out there in the mix even though only 12 games in.

Chucky, I totally get that mate. I was just coming from the angle of filling the big shoes that Fergie left and trying to reignite that continuity of winning trophies including of course the league.
The money side of it sadly spoils the aesthetics, and plus we’re unlikely to see in the modern era now, half a dozen of youngsters being unleashed onto the main circuit of senior players, but it’s the way the industry is.
Though I’m not using that to excuse the spending, but supporters and owners are looking for an instantaneous turnaround when it comes to important matters that need addressing.
That’s why I hope for example, Jurgen Klopp is allowed to serve his full 4 (years I think it is) that he signed for.
It’s unlikely Jose is long-term for United and we’ll soon see yet another managerial change there.
Maybe perhaps ‘great’ is over-egging the pudding, but winning the league is always an achievement when you consider the serious competition that has come from both Chelsea and Man City.

On the evidence of events from yesterday as much as defiant I have been on this subject, the way City unlocked a well-organised Leicester defence showed to me a lot of Barcelona under Pep.
It’s obviously taken him more than a year to get to know the Prem, but it seems he has key components he needs to be able to execute his style of football.
I can resonate to talk now come about on City being unbeaten all season because Pep on the other end of the pitch seemingly has addressed to Goalkeeping matter he needed to put right.

61 points so far out of my fantasy team, and win a football accumulator too – not a bad weekend 🙂 🙂 🙂

Really pleased with our lot today. We didn’t give Saints that opportunity to get a single effort on target which speaks volumes about trying to make Anfield a fortress. Salah was just ace and I mean that from the point of view in supporting the back.
I was switching between this and the Leicester game. Until they were pick-pocket, Leicester did really well. Once the second goal went in from Manchester, that was it and there was no way back.
I’m not sure whether that Jesus goal would be deemed as offside, but hardly saw any protests from any of the Leicester camp, and there was no flag raised so from that it must be kosher.
Man City are in a league of their own at the moment, so it’s understandable why the predictions are set the way they are, but I’m wholeheartedly encouraged and happy in the way the table has shaped for the rest of the chasing pack right up to Burnley – it really makes healthy reading.
🙂

Mav 73, you’re a better man than I am mate, nice one. I don’t really mind in essence too much who wins it if my team can’t win it as that’s how I’d like my mindset to be with ease, freedom and just to be able to enjoy it.
But as time has gone one and I grown older and having not seen Liverpool win it for 27 years, I’ve perhaps grown a tad bitter and precious – I wish I wasn’t like that and wouldn’t want to be, but love the club dearly and the best feeling when they are top and are winning pieces of silverware.
It’s always refreshing to see somebody who hasn’t won it before win it so this was my reason for choosing Spurs. And I wouldn’t begrudge United winning it too if they did as it would be a great achievement having gone through the transition and the rebuilding process.
Cheers
