Nine, I would take that now mate with open arms. Nowadays the way the industry is, not many Managers now hold any real length of service beyond 2/3 years. Maybe at that point that could be an opportunity for a certain Steven Gerrard to step into some very big shoes.

28th December 2017 at 5:37 pm in reply to: "He's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming, Van Dijk's coming home" #10286Chucky, if the defensive faults are addressed and if Jurgen can formulate a defensive unit, then that would make us a lot stronger than vulnerable.
I would say though, Mignolet still has that howler in him.
I was thinking about this though and in all fairness, we’re probably talking potentially a good 8/9 years since Liverpool had a really good steady defensive unit. We’ve had players come and go but we’ve papered the cracks.
In fairness too, our Manager needed to get his skates on addressing these matters because in the long run it would impact his tenure and if he can get it right, he could stay with us for years to come.

When I tried to watch the game on tv yesterday and saw Sterling’s goal, the whole thing reminded me of 13/14. Everything’s just clicking for City.
We have similar styles but I think mentally, City are a tad bit more tenacious than Liverpool and know and are able to grind out results.

Kim Wilde and a 1980s Page 3 – Linda, hahaha 😀

I have to protect my Mum and Dad. I love my Brother as he is on ball and was calm and cool with them; he broke the news to me, and I love him Candy 1992 Liverpool Football Club – Steve McManaman.

27th December 2017 at 4:22 pm in reply to: United will need to spend more money to catch City as will everyone else! #10122That’s absolutely true.
You need to be able to formulate a team with the right blend that will suit to the chosen playing style and also have the flexibility to other ways of playing.

27th December 2017 at 3:54 pm in reply to: United will need to spend more money to catch City as will everyone else! #10120I’m struggling to get my head around this and my reasoning is down to the array of players United are already equip with:
De Gea
Matic
Herrera
Mkhitaryan
Pogba
Martial
Rashford
Lakaku
IbrahimovicIs it really a case of wholesale changes or just fine tuning?
They’ve been pegged back which I find hard to pinpoint as to why but maybe it’s a matter of just simply being outplayed by Pep. Is Pep’s squad better or stronger? Maybe not, but he knows and is getting the best out of those players physical with their sharpeness/agility and quickness, that’s the secret.
He’s insisted I would imagine on those dropping their weight if it meant they would be enhanced in their speed – even by 5%. I don’t think a lot of the time Jose’s pragmatic approach does him any favours particularly when choosing 6-3-1. The whole idea this season was turning those draws into defeats.
Maybe there could be an area to work on ala the Defence, but they already have one of the best Keepers in the world. How much more buying can be done against 3 different Managers since Fergusons departure?
Rebuilding takes time.

Just one or two cockey on here and ruffle my feathers think they’re on the top step and think they’re a little big for their boots and there’s no way they’re better than me at playing the game! And Argentina too – know that team top to toe from Mexico 86 and I love the game dearly.

26th December 2017 at 9:43 pm in reply to: And this is why: The Table now against those vital points dropped #10048Nine, appreciated, don’t worry mate it’s all good.
Maybe it’s light-hearted, and banter, but in percentages, it comes across as people making a mockery every-time I champion my club.
This type of innocent conversation I would have either during my School years or having a Pint down my local.
I was merely innocently pointing out that if we didn’t draw to Everton and West Brom, we would have been in a much better stead of affairs.
That’s the reason why I make threads like ‘Bus Parkers’ because it frustrates the hell out of me from those essentially being adept of any foundation in my view of the Premier League – what are they doing there in the first place?
As least an example like Wimbledon mixed it up and we knew where we stood with them.

26th December 2017 at 9:30 pm in reply to: And this is why: The Table now against those vital points dropped #10043They were representations from most recent results not results from August 9.
10 years of being on Forums and I’ve never been taken seriously, but laughed at and made a mockery of from something I truly believe in.
What’s worse, not ONE fellow Liverpool supporter or so-called Liverpool supporter has ever backed me, which makes my ‘task’ even more uphill.
It’s a decent and a valid point.

26th December 2017 at 9:20 pm in reply to: And this is why: The Table now against those vital points dropped #10039I’ve deliberately deleted something I wanted to stress given that my thoughts have been made a mockery of by the same people.
I don’t know who or where to join. As people keep telling me: Liverpool aren’t actually that capable.

I would say I am extremely grateful for this win be it 1-0 or 5-0. We’ve had games like these where we’ve been held, made to feel frustrated, then be outdone against the run of play so based on that, it was fundamental we got through the gears.
Just got to keep this momentum going and hope we can replicate 3 points against Leicester.

Probably, but they’ve dropped 4 points in the space of a few days which you have to say is good for you guys and Chelsea.
Results like these from your competitors means that the this part of progression takes care of itself and a new win would mean a bigger point margin which gives you a bit of luxury.
