I’m hoping little Banjo is smart enough not to read the Daily Express – can you even call that a Newspaper?!?! Rrrrraaarrghhh 😀 😀 😀

I think at this point, there should be a cut-off point. I just find this a little over embellished.
An inquest now just because Willian wasn’t awarded a Pen?
Is this seriously what this games come to now?
I really need a different thread (Sigh).

Prince white Yord, it just seems convenient for some of these people to jump on the bangwagon.
I get that there are there to be a ‘Pundit’, but there’s just far too many of them knocking about on various broadcasting networks. They just do my head in and are allowed far too much air time.
As for ex-refs, I don’t mind Howard Webb, but wouldn’t really give a great deal of credence to Graham Poll given his own history of causing a stir or two.
Ultimately, it’s easy for those not involved or no longer involved to judge others and that’s what bugs me about this. We have VAR in place now and what we need is realistic suggestions and solutions to help promote a more accurate game of decision-making.

Sometimes, some pundits just annoy me and Shearer being one of them. They are lazy. “Shocking this shocking that”
But not one of them will go out of their way to physically help a Referee. This actually is the worse sport for all the excess ‘punditry’ and chat that comes with it.

Villian one was dubious, though after seeing the replays on the BBC website, my heart says it’s a Pen.
Pedro on the other hand was a let down, so you can understand what might have driven and influenced the Ref into making that call on Villian.
Nine, that’s true, and my point is that it’s not the Tech to blame, but ultimately, the Person operating it which means it’s not fool-proof in accordance to the example of Villian.
Alfie totally agree mate. At that point of time, something sensible should be agreed and I wouldn’t think it would take that long too. I would like this too if allowed to be a habit because it will then place in the mind of the Ref just how easy it is to make a wrong call (by mistake) in real time.

That’s as good as it will get people. What more do you want? There’ve been cries for this for years and now when there’s finally something in place, fans are still finding fault!
Alfie, good point on how the person viewing advises the Ref. One possibility is for the Ref to coincide with the Assistant and view the footage collectively – best course of action.
I’m not bothered at all about disruption or how long it takes as long as it’s serving it’s purpose to support better overall decision-making and cut out the dishonesty some players out there clearly want to exhibit and think to try and get away with it.

Nine, one of your own supporters right now on Talksport has condemned your own players – this being for Diving.

Chelsea are through though, so maybe VAR isn’t so bad now haha.

Seems human-nature to me. This happens in Cricket. Tennis-wise, I believe each guy is allowed 2 or 3 calls.

Chucky has more chance of passing Little Banjo through his Medical and thereafter treating him to a Walls Icecream 🙂 🙂 🙂 Not a bad start for January. He could become a played valued 1.9 😀 Celebrations or Quality Street 😀
Meanwhile, what is going on at the Emirates?????

I’ll split this into 3 subjects related to this:
1) The Waiting: The speculations and the uncertainties in between a player leaving a club to reach his ‘destination’ club basically drives one bananas in an event of trying to bring in the individual sooner.
Leipzig are going to try and keep the Padlock on Kieta as much as they can. But clearly, beyond what has already been agreed in principle, anything beforehand means a price to pay. Sadly that’s the way the footballing world works.
It’s could be argued upon Kieta being brought earlier could provide us with a luxury of strength and a well-balanced squad. However, that comes with a price. That region of 13-20 million effectively is a lot of money and money that can be saved and used wisely.
I felt we paid over the odds regarding Van Dijk. He was an underlying goner (and Liverpool bound), but Southampton deliberately held out and fair play to them from a business point of view because they squeezed a small chunk of an extra few million out of us (from his original estimated worth).
Summer 2016 was a fruitful transfer window for us on Player Sales. We generated good business on examples of Jordan Ibe and Joe Allen. Giving in to ransom would undo all the good work and from a book-balancing point of view we need to fill FSG with confidence that we’re clever when in comes to spending and we’re not just frittering away millions like loose change.
2) From point 1), All the recent drooling over Sanchez brings me to my belief in always drafting two, three, four different transfer targets. I know that’s easy to say and contradictory given our hearts set on Van Dijk and Kieta. But have more targets enables the whole concept to be more open-minded and above all, healthy. Loosing out on a target means that we’re not dwelling and spraying over us any negativity because as far as recent history goes, we’re capable of bringing in top quality.
3) Just a final point regarding the Defence. I felt under Rodgers, this was masked with our staggering attacking ability. After Suarez leaving and Sturridge being plagued with injury, our true colours were unearthed.
I genuinely believe now, we are more closer to finally forming a stable unit than ever since probably 2010 which is a long time and taking on board the turmoil of ownership and managerial changes to date.
A radical change to bring in a Top Quality Keeper is needed and that would promote the perfect fit of a defensive unit that’s been longing to being addressed as mentioned in reality for a considerable amount of time.

C/Man all true and good comments mate.
I was just thinking along the lines of Insurance whether there should be something in place to regulate and promote accurate reporting like a Defaqto. At the very least the ‘sources’ we would know beforehand who they are and how credible they are.
Somethings this kind of thing as far as rumours go just spiral out of control.

A slice of Angel Cake and a Cup of Tea if I win 🙂
Nine, I get where you are coming from mate, but my thinking is that they’ll be made to work for the Title and I don’t think any team going forward will make it any easier for them.
