It seems to me we’re approaching our style of play and direction on the pitch back-to-front.
There’s a natural emphasis to attack, which is of course a fundamental aspect.
But the saying goes, all great teams essentially are built from the back.
Judging on the evidence of last night, the body language otherwise spells nemesis and not wanting to be there when it comes to defensive duties. All of us collectively treat this as a confrontation rather than embracing it with panache.
Largely this comes from the GK. Be it Karius or Mignolet, over a course of ‘a’ season, neither combined will cut it. That must change fundamentally.
A lot of the time, there’s simply no looking up and communicating on who is doing what.
Which brings me on to say, I really can’t see vividly the distinction in positional play. For instance, we need a guy to play in front and protect the back 4, clearly. So is it Can, or is it Wijn?
Ox-laid for him started should be the driving force in the midfield area automatically.
These roles on individual players need to be made clear from the off. We don’t need a box to box if there’s supposedly full-backs in place over-lapping the flanks.
Rodriguez had a field day strolling if anything like a knife through butter. Our defence was just feeble and effortless. People make a point of being bullied, but I’ve seen on evidence, it really doesn’t take a great deal to rattle us.

Sound point by one of the Callers on 606 tonight. Nine, I think it may have been you mate making the point about Rugby. This is obviously a novelty in football with the trialling of VAR, and there has to be Guidelines put in place as to how players from both sets of teams should be conducting themselves.
One rule should definitely be not to crowd a Referee otherwise a 10 minute sin-bin system could be implement as a sanction.
Cheers

Yeah, should have been a Red that. This is where we need VAR!

A bit stupid really. How can Sane be offside?! This rule’s smeared a bit because he wasn’t even interfering with play!

That was a world class finish – wow.
But it’s been disallowed.

GΓΌndogan and Silva starting – get ready for some wonderful skill, flare, and natural ability.
Great to see those memories re Nathan Blake – wow, can’t believe it’s 24 years!

I did read somewhere 300 or so million supposedly to be spent collectively on De Gea, Kane, and Hazard.

Not all of them Goats, so it’s not a generalization. I’m saying certain individuals seemingly have always tendered themselves to be one bad result or two bad results away from telling us the “I told you so” and unravelling everything that is supposedly wrong with the club.
I’ve rarely see them getting behind the team or forecasting a positive prediction. If anything, it’s them who capitulate!

I would only feel aggrieved if the VAR system was not corrective.
If we get a goal ruled out by VAR for offside then so be it. You can’t complain. But if there were regular bodge ups, then I wouldn’t be happy and I’d be calling for it to be scrapped.

I’m referring to our own so-called supporters, Goats. Ironically, the opposition fans are writing more constructive comments and I’d much rather they were here (who’d have thought I’d be saying that! Haha)!

I’m working next Sat, but would have considered that. It’s about a 25 mile drive as I used to study at Trent – miss those trams π Meadow Lane I’m led to believe is one of the oldest grounds around.
Good to see the work in Broadmarsh – finally some investment.

We had no sound on, so couldn’t figure out why one of West Brom’s header was ruled out.
Obviously in majority, those decisions went in our favour which was pleasing.
For Cricket, this is effectively used really to serve one purpose: OUT or NOT OUT.
Football on the other hand has more complexities. Those stood in the stands wondering what’s going on, I think on the screen there should be stipulation of what’s happening on the tv screens:
EG: Goal ruled out for offside. Just a short sentence outlining what has happened and the reason. That way fans aren’t lost and don’t feel disrupted.

VAR is fine in my view. I’m hoping too it’s here to stay.
I wonder what might have been had this little Gem was around decades ago.
I don’t know why people complain about how it takes and the so-called disruptions made.

The rubbish I’ve read from elsewhere even if people are entitled to their opinions. It’s as if they want us to fail.
Btw I was one of the who mentioned about 2nd place. Though it is attainable mathematically, United’s buy in Sanchez coupled with us losing Coutinho realistically is going to be unlikely.
I just don’t like the way we’re talked about by the same people and I’ve seen this now for several years.
Some people visiting forums show very little optimism through their entirety. I honestly wonder what satisfaction and fulfilment they gain in their life.
Don’t they want to win any trophies or the League Title?

May have missed a trick not signing Jay Rodriguez. He worked well with Lallana when the pair were both at Southampton.

Oasis I missed out on.
I don’t like the fall out anymore than Million others, however, with Liam going solo and relaying the brickwork fills me with sincere optimism and JOY π π

Jason calls the current Liverpool team as ‘Brendan Klopp’ insisting there has been little or no change irrespective of Jurgen Klopp being a replacement.
Now then, I know Roy Evans was able to get a tune out of the players Souness wasn’t, but some you just know just simply have to be binned full-stop!
Moreno is as bad as Bjorn Toure Kvarme – hash-tag- half-a-sleep and dozy!!!!!
No wonder Pardew sees this as an opportunity to unlock a Safe!
We actually presented if anything more of a feeble side which for Liverpool is a Cardinal Sin!
