Quite simply, it’s very easy for one to be overtaken with events
Nobody deep down wants their team to lose a game. It’s just a mechanism or a ‘vehicle’ used when a certain point has reached and there’s a desperation for something to change/something to give.
Every club is different in their own right. In the lower leagues, there’s a similar type of vibe.

I would love for him to lift that trophy Nine and I too would prefer Wenger to leave on a high with a trophy.

Pagan, don’t have the faintest idea what you’re talking about.

Sean, predicting Liverpool will lose every football match could be a myth – I’ve been on football message boards for 10 years and it’s the same old story hahaha. 😛

I sort of get the avoidance of English teams, but I think there’s an Oversight. We have beaten Man United at Old Trafford, I think in total of all comps since year 2000, 5.
We knocked them out of the Europa. That has to be a plus.
Seville is one team I don’t like in Europe, and Barca as I loathe them, but we should really be comfortable to face any team out there rather than place a team as some kind of a nemesis, lifetime.
As a side note, I noticed this in Snooker last weekend; Ronnie for some reason folds up whenever he has to face John Higgins, and really, John Higgins CAN be beaten as with Hendry, in his latter years.
You can go in with caution by all means, but being fearful and looking for an easy ride, won’t ultimately happen.

My myth in 1992 that led me to embarrassing myself after losing some kind of a sporting event at secondary school: The wind was blowing in the wrong direction – I remind a tiny bit of myself in Jose! “The Referee was Man Of The Match” hahaha 😀 🙂

6th March 2018 at 10:54 pm in reply to: Week 29 footy (Including predictions- Ars v Man C Included) #17397They just lost any bravery they had when Lakaku was ‘teeing’ that shot up. It was as if he was destined to find the back of the net.

Maybe a point has reached where the dynamics have changed and a lot of teams could be more than capable of earning at point at OT.
Man City at present have the upper hand. The question and doubt would be whether there would ever be a period of dominance surrounding just ONE team.
I can’t vision that happening at this moment of time as the league is more of a competitive one and a level playing field.

Alfie, I’m not clued up at all in this mate, but you’d think right at the start, these participants would sign some form of a ‘declaration’ sheet to abide by conditions set, and prior to actually going ahead with the event, there are medical checks carried out – e.g. routine blood tests.
It is strange that it’s taken this length of time for ‘authorities’ to now say “well actually, you’ve crossed the line”.

This has to be the best of the lot since the early 90s from Sky Sports. They’ve finally got this right. I wish it was Sky that had the Saturday Tea Time games and not BT as it’s a delightful feeling to have this as background music after your team has played live and won.

I’m with Mak on this point of a draw; first up, I wouldn’t be too disappointed with it myself, but with the way the team is now on the back of the addition of Van Dijk, and certain individuals establishing themselves well and finding form, factor in too, our recent run of results away from home and not being beaten since the Swansea defeat.
Without talking ourselves up too high, I do believe we have moved up a few notches and would be a good punt for a win. I don’t want to jinx it, but it’s something I’d say we’d be capable of and shouldn’t be fearful of the task.

5th March 2018 at 10:19 pm in reply to: Week 29 footy (Including predictions- Ars v Man C Included) #17261Matic changed the entire dynamics because United were moments away from being held.
That would have placed them on 60 points level with Liverpool, but behind on goal difference. Jose would be think more about going offensively on Saturday which would suit us. We need the win more than them, but walking away with a point wouldn’t be too disappointing.

5th March 2018 at 10:08 pm in reply to: Week 29 footy (Including predictions- Ars v Man C Included) #17259Best game of the weekend though inspite of the result from a non-Man U POV. Enjoyed the way Palace knocked the ball around comfortably.

5th March 2018 at 10:07 pm in reply to: Week 29 footy (Including predictions- Ars v Man C Included) #17257Really gutted for Palace. In reality the way United put the ball in the Palace mixer incessantly as well as probing, keeping it at 2-0 was always going to be a big ask. Really feel for Roy and really hope Palace stay up – a fantastic football club.
It’s heartbreaking and a draw would have been a fair result. That blast from Mata reminded me of Wanyama recently. Not good being on the receiving end of when you deserve something out of the game.
Hope we don’t lose like that this weekend.
