It’s always disappointing when a good player wants to leave your club, but for somebody to go on a BBC program and with thrust, engineer a move, that will always go down as being disrespectful.
Though when I see him in City colours, I don’t constantly get reminders of that, so I must have moved on, haha π
In relation to the thread itself, I refer my last reply on here. It seems to some there are too many ex-Liverpool players giving an opinion in public that is rubbing some opposition supporters the wrong way.
I’m thinking karma! π

19th March 2018 at 7:14 pm in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18444I think a little too much has been read into Molby’s opinion. Whilst it’s encouraging, it naturally causes a stir against opposing opinions, so ones who are excited and optimistic somehow feel forced to reign it in.
I refer to my earlier reply of thoughts and have all the admiration and respect in the world for city.
But it’s something I’d like my team to go for and relish this challenge. Whatever is said in and around the media, shouldn’t really cause any psychological impact.

19th March 2018 at 4:05 pm in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18435I’d be a tad hacked off with this if I was a Man City fan, but this is just coming from 1 former Liverpool pro, and he’s given his reasons, although, I don’t really see playing the first leg as an extra advantage.
We have known to be complacent and squander leads and being in winning positions.
City genuinely have an array of talented players and that is an understatement when you consider the ‘veterans’ in there. They have Winners medals and they have a Manager who has won trophies.
The best case scenario from an LFC perspective is to ensure we get a foothold with a positive result and minimal away goals conceded – ideally a clean sheet altogether. At the Ethiad, we’d have to really knuckle down and perform immaculately.
Away from home against the top teams we’ve not delivered as far as the league goes, and I do feel besides our front 3, we don’t have a game-changer like City that can come on as a sub.
It’ll be down to how much metal one team has over another, and the mental state of it too.

Nine, yeah mate, was fortunate to visit Villa Park years ago – a great traditional ground.
Ah right, I don’t know anything about Twickenham.
Loved your guys old shed end from the TV screens and when it was sort of in the process of renovation in the early 90s. Seen a few games from you tube, and brought back memories in young Gavin Peacock π

C Man,
you’re right and I fully agree with Pax too.
This was sort of an admittedly mischievous and a fun thread I put out π
4 Goals though in the Snow.
Could Messi deliver the same on a cold night in Stoke, haha π π π

Nine, biggest blunder in them ripping those Twin Towers apart.
It’s sheer greed and they’re just wanting to enlist more city workers of the capital to dig into their wallets. That just doesn’t seem right to me in relation to Spurs playing, or any team playing a Semi at Wembley.
Traditionally, these semis were played at Old Trafford and Villa Park.
Just enjoy and go for it though mate.
I think Pedro should start haha π π

Nine,
Hazard was putting in a lot of ‘kilometers’ in the left-back area. He was very supportive too. I’m sure today he ran one whole length of the pitch, but unfortunately he didn’t get picked out when he was waiting at the far post on the right.
Yeah, I know what you mean mate.
Willian made the most of the space in the middle freed up and Morata got his perfect through ball.
Yeah, it wasn’t the prettiest of games to say the least, but Pedro’s header summed it up that a win was plucked out by Chelsea and of course, that’s taken them into the Semis.
Cheers

Tottenham deserve a Cup Final appearance in my view – hope they make it. From a fanatical POV, they need to nail a trophy like an FA Cup because it’s been to much of a wait and they are for me a quality outfit, but underachieving.

Finally in the warmth after freezing myself off for a 120 minutes!
I have to say first off, I was disappointed with Chelsea’s quality of football today on the pitch. You can see clearly how energetic Eden Hazard is and he holds the rest of those players like glue.
Victor Moses, lazy, and casual and best on the wing. Morata delivered a superb finish, but he is too featherweight for my liking against a physical and a gritty outfit like Leicester.
I think both sets of formations clashed as far as the midfield went, so Chelsea in the first half in majority were just playing for the wide areas in Moses, and then trying to set Hazard free down the other flank. It was only on the counter did Willian burst through the centre and threaded a beautiful ball into the path of Morata. One guy at the back I do rate highly is Marcos Alonso; he holds the back line well with Azpilicueta.
Chelsea very much allowed Leicester to grow in the second-half, and the home side’s grit and determination paid off with Vardy’s snatch shot. The Foxes are pain to watch. All they were doing is playing side to side and Vardy didn’t even see the ball in the first half, it’s more hopeless than hopeful.
Pedro was a big difference for the Blues when he came later on. He is driven in pace and his persistence paid off with a header effectively out of no where.
I have to say the Referee was a poor show. The fact that he only awarded 1 minute of injury time during the second period of extra time summed his display up perfectly.
Kudos to the Chelsea fans. I must say in my heart I enjoyed Morata’s finish and the way their fans cheered and celebrated at the away end.
Super cold temperatures and Conte will I’m sure be thankful his side are in the Semis.

that’s probably why they left it a bit late.
Leicester-Chelsea is going ahead for sure.

So the Derby game got called off today, but Cardiff fans had already travelled the day before and naturally, some had overnight stays. 2018, and fans still have to experience lack of communication and firm decision-making.

The first goal of Salah’s yesterday was just textbook. He is so gifted to be able to dribble his way in those tight areas and find the back of the net – reminded me a little of Torres against West Ham at Upton Park circa 2009.

Nine, it’s not too bad on these shores mate. Chelsea people will be looked after and M1 is usually more restricted on speed.
