Nine, @ 1:46,
a big problem with that comes from being extorted. And this comes from online tickets from 2nd and 3rd parties. Β£300 for ‘a set’.
I have no problem in principle for anybody from any part of the world to buy, but where does that leave locals?
It’s a certain type of fan too that we associate ourselves with from life experience and the picture we paint. Where is HE?
He’s had enough mate because he’s priced out.

22nd March 2018 at 2:04 pm in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18572When I think of John Aldridge as a former Red, I always think back to that moment when Liverpool were awarded a penalty.
The roar coming from the TV told me 1-1.
Aldridge and the rest of us underestimated Dave Beasant and he pulled off a save. It was Wimbledon’s day that left me with a horrible feeling in my guts.
But although it’s delightful to see ex Reds get excited, I do feel particularly in modern society where digital media is easily accessible quick in escalation, there’s karma waiting round the corner.
The examples in Leroy Sane, Gundogan, Benardo Silva and many more could give us a rude awakening!

I absolutely loathe what West Ham fans have to now go through with the London stadium. It’s a mess and I really feel sorry for them.
As far as the top end of the tree goes with English football, fans wallets are already as good as being priced out. Now they are doing this to their voices.
They are putting them in or building silly circular stadiums where the closeness with the player is lost. How on earth can you generate any form of atmosphere?
Places like Highbury and White Heart Lane mate were the lifeblood of loyal good supporters. The soul has been ripped out.

22nd March 2018 at 12:27 pm in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18562I’m glad that sort of ‘statement’ isn’t coming from our Manager.
I have read the extract of Aldridge.
From a armchair perspective, I’m not convinced the atmosphere at Anfield is quite there the way it was for example a decade ago when we played Olympiakos.
Plus, those old school Premier League games from the 90s definitely shook the ground when Liverpool played Man United. I’m not sure I’m seeing that and it seems the ground’s quiet.
I’ve heard better atmosphere sitting in the Kop at Leicester. And plus clubs from the Championship and lower leagues know how to REALLY make noise.

So you’ve either grounded him from his tv and xbox, or have tied him up and locked him in a cellar! π

Yeah, mate, good point, where is Mav?
I may look at doing a couple of bits and pieces after lunch, being on annual leave from today for a few days π

Nine, ok mate, fair dos and thanks for your reply.
I think in relation to Salah, Chucky and Nine, this is probably the time for FSG to stamp their authority with a lucrative contract and a very high weekly wage if they are to hold onto their player.
The agent of the modern game sadly is our demon.
I accept this is what a few clubs out there are up against, but for years now, I have seen us reach a level, then we lost a few of our best players, and then it all blows to pieces. Another new manager comes in, and it’s the same cycle over again. We’re not winning trophies and then we drift away too further from the ‘elite’ teams in Europe.

22nd March 2018 at 10:40 am in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18540Nine, I’ll give you full marks for at least being explicit about your own agenda.
I like honesty mate.
I have no idea how another club supporter would find their way through to a local Newspaper and pay attention to ONE column of opinion.

Pointless twaddle of discussion anyway, no headway made.

It was an idea, Nine. Okay fine.
I was showing some optimism on the back of an article, not something ‘I’ just plucked out of thin air.
We couldn’t sign Reus in 2014 for other reasons and now we can’t sign him because of his injuries yet people will point out the loss of Coutinho and I bet you my bottom dollar particularly on this forum, Teamtalk and the media, collectively will all try to unsettle Mo Salah.

Better still, why do some of you people take what ex-Liverpool players say with so much seriousness?
Not only that, supporters and forum users supporting Liverpool feel as though they can’t get excited about something, because there’s always opposition to drive in the negative wedge.
If the same opinion was delivered by Gary Neville, I wonder what people’s reactions would be then!
Seems, to me too, you’re quite keen on Sky Blue than Royal Blue!

I’ll try and be a little more careful the next time I feel optimistic about something.
After all, it’s a forum and nobody really wants to pat people’s backs do they?! Far too strenuous.
Good call Chucky mate, at least one of us looks on the brighter side of life.

As for this theory in rival clubs, I don’t fully buy into it and certainly wouldn’t fully buy what’s written on here. It’s opinion, not something from the horses mouth.
How many times has Wenger for example allowed his players to join a rival club?

Reus according to this article gave a ‘come and get me plea’.
I think it’s always worth considering alternatives as it would be a big ask for our front 3 to start EVERY game.

A 13.5 tog Duvet to wrap up in the winter and a mini fridge for those Lagers/Pilsners/Beers in the Summer.
That in itself would be worth the admission fee π π π

Dirty Harry,
looking at it that way, you might be right. Personally, 29 isn’t really any age to be put off by as Toby could quite easily deliver 5 years at top level, but perhaps for the amount of money potentially invested in both fees and wages, that might be a tag high on the risk factor.
It would be nice to acquire somebody of top quality to shoe-horn with Van Dijk with Matip and Lovren being back up players.

Chucky, I’m actually rather shocked at it mate because I thought he turned the corner in spite of problems surrounding his split from his wife and being addicted to painkillers.
It’s very easy for any of us to say he’s earning millions, but clearly, that doesn’t override adversity.
He hasn’t helped himself in all fairness getting into the state he did merely 20 hours from doing the Live show.

Not sure what you mean Chucky on Mr Levy. Are you suggesting he deliberately won’t sell to a rival club in the Prem?
Of course, if a certain Fantasy Football club want to price everyone else out by wages, then I’d expect none the less and I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.
Only our regulatory bodies can’t see past the pound signs and are too weak.
