Nine, I understand that – just get wound up at times and frustrated when there’s no common ground or something to share – nothing personal towards anybody.

There was allegedly some form of dirt stuck on a piece of yellow tape which was used on the ball.
My guess is that may be have been bits (very fine grit paper) of stuck on electric tape and used to create a more smoother finish on the ball to help turn when bowling (as the ball wears away it’s gloss over a course of time (and shape)).

Overridden!
Quite simply, my simple fault was not to attribute this into the Liverpool thread as a tribute,
though by habit, every topic turns into a ‘mass debate’ and doomed-gloomed.
I think if I set up a thread in celebrating Liverpool Football Club’s success, Chelsea and Manchester City would pounce.
Manchester United DO ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND.
Jeez, the thread was just to be happy in the joy of Phillipe Coutinho. Clearly, nasty, horrible and self-righteous people like leeches waiting in the wings in mili-seconds.
Yes, David Silva is the best on Planet Earth. Bryan Robson was nothing.

Bit of an oldie, but love this one. Really galvanising and Leicester City’s intro tune when the players walk through the tunnel and onto the pitch π

I completely agree on the point of people rather than the devices themselves and the way we immerse ourselves.
One kid I did have a conversation with clearly done his research and pointed out to me walkmans, mp3 players. Sure that was around, but against a Smartphone, it’s a different kettle of fish and those in the 80s and 90s were largely used for recreational purposes. Not many people had Pagers and Mobile Phones themselves when they were first out.
I’m looking at attitudes, plus Social Media. It’s everywhere, like Big Brother.

24th March 2018 at 8:34 am in reply to: Netherlands V England – Friday 8pm – ITV – Come On England! #18654I thought we did well.
Not sure why we had a shed load of subs.
I think maybe some international teams are just by name and in reality aren’t all that.
We should give ourselves a real chance when it comes to this year’s World Cup. I think to myself maybe now or never because as far as players coming through, there aren’t that many, that’s the scary part.

Jim,
not sure how we even reached here mate.
I certainly didn’t want to.
My sole intention was just the forever love of a former player.
Perhaps I should have stuck this one in the Liverpool thread hahaha

23rd March 2018 at 11:10 pm in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18638So what happened in 2014?
Where is the link?
Where is the evidence?

Jim, that’s just general friendly talk mate between two people/fans I like to think.
Of course David Silva is special!
Should they really be compared and what has brought this whole nonsense on in the first place?????????
Should we just forever be inferior and pander to you when celebrating quite simply a former Liverpool Football Club Player.
Crikey!
What is the world coming to?!

23rd March 2018 at 10:59 pm in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18636WIB, Just read your reply now mate, as I’ve paid attention to a great night of Snooker.
In agreement.
I don’t think on the evidence of everything so far re this thread, I’ll bother any further other than to say maybe the Editor can look into to the what I see deliberate doom and gloom and spilling quite frankly of jealousy.

23rd March 2018 at 10:51 pm in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18635Seems to me a little bit of jealousy in those not being either Man City or Liverpool.
Lol, there’s so much quite clearly irony and deep down underlying resentment.
What forum people, and perhaps they should look at themselves.
Well done, because quite frankly, I don’t really TRUST a great deal on here as far as it goes.

23rd March 2018 at 2:19 pm in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18622I’m with Sean on this one.
I don’t remember anything from 2014 too. And I would have done and that would have been on mainstream news.
Yeah, and it does seem that opposition fans selectively want to pluck this piece of detail out and paste on here to make out that we’re a bad bunch of supporters.
This is spoiled for now my mood π

23rd March 2018 at 11:41 am in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18609I think a lot’s been said without anything really happening and there’s plenty of time before the first leg even commences.
This thread epitomizes it and has sort of triggered the ‘infighting’ or disagreements between different sets of posters. No real need really, as we’re a very small community as it is.

You channelled your energy in pulling me up on something I chose to share and what it a clear question?
FYI, we’ve yet to have so far as many responses from work lot but a couple did answer and were more supportive of the internet.
These people are young people and haven’t been around the block like myself and therefore have not had the life experience from being in the world pre-internet.
My point of view is that we are now more than ever centering our lives around a ‘smartphone’. I see people walking down the street and more engaged in their phones. Some don’t even have either the capacity or the ability to be able to make eye-contact with confidence to another human being and strike up a conversation.
In my view, we have been swept far too deep into the digital world. I recognize in relation to a lot of day-to-day tasks and challenges, the Web is important to them, not to mention the world of work and the implications on our economy.
I’m in an industry where over the last 2 years, there’s been adjustments to be more digital and I work where I face people everyday that are our customers. It’s all now more about quick service and we rely on our digital mediums to support our business.
I just feel at times I’m more and more swept into a rat-race. I do feel for those in the example of having to work for Amazon and the working conditions of staff members there that work round the clock just so Johnny out there can receive his order on time.

“untalented morons”
Well they’ve been in the tv and showbiz industry as a pair on a number of different settings for 25 years.
But hey-ho, let’s not allow this or anything positive to get in the way that the individual connected may be have a genuine problem in his personal life.
Sure I condemn all his actions behind the wheel and it’ll be a long time before he’s considered a return given the fact of endangering his own safety, pedestrians and other road users.
All in all, Ant has held his hands up and I’m sure more than anyone, he is well and truly sorry for his actions.

A whole club could be bought for a lesser amount.
Yep Pax, I think unfortunately, that’s going to be the way forward. I don’t particularly like the ideology of it myself and the bubble-burst is very much around the corner.
But I think we’re going to see FSG go firm on this one and with full force of business acumen. ‘Moneyball’ could be coming to an end π π

22nd March 2018 at 2:53 pm in reply to: MΓΈlby pretty sure Liverpool will beat City in the CL #18578Nine, true mate, and that’s the classic case of supply and demand.
Chucky, that’s also true re the bit about wanting the best players, but pricing up tickets at extortionate rates to ‘fund’ for the now sky-high fees and players wages is beyond comprehension against many of the examples we see in the modern game – ala Alexis Sanchez.
For some clubs, they are able to generate income from more than one strand and we’re seeing more the luxury of tv money.
For other clubs however, the gate money is a vitality. Maybe this opens the up the subject of introducing safe-standing for a very small quarter of the stadium, where they can charge as little as Β£10 for a ticket.
I’m led to believe the cheapest ticket for the Foxes falls around Β£28, maybe a little less for an Adult. They also have right at the very top of the kop end, an area specifically for the old school hardcore fans decorated with scarves and memorabilia. You can see quite clearly too that the noise is pumped from them in majority and plus they instigate all the songs and chants.
