Yeah, I think you’re right Mikus. Nuno’s a better fit to play more pragmatic emphasizing more on set-pieces, defending and using the counter-attack as their golden opportunity to punish opposition.

These guys really should be treated with the respect they deserve. Our only defeat so far at Anfield too.
Forest take the lead and in fairness, you can smell a goal coming from them.
I’m pretty sure too their Catagory A fixtures at City Ground of the up and coming matches have sold out. Nuno really brought something to this team.

That goal reminded me of Fernando Torres π Wish Nunez was a lot more like him though. And yes, we miss a number 9.

Villa so far have responded knocking on the door, so it would only be a matter of Time and therefore, we need to be CAREFUL. Other the UPSET is on us!

6th November 2024 at 9:01 am in reply to: Champions League New Format and First Phase Matches #216392I’m actually quite glad this tournament has has a shake up with a new format. Villa along with Liverpool the only team left with a maximum record and guess what: Villa the only team still yet to concede a goal.

6th November 2024 at 9:00 am in reply to: Champions League New Format and First Phase Matches #216391Sean, you are right mate. That was sheer accentuation under the circumstances defining the word support, even when things aren’t going so well. The atmosphere did crank up in the second half so full marks to the Supporters.
I don’t know what it is but how well under Slot has Curtis Jones become. Gakpo and Diaz as well. Nunez and Zobo still question marks, but there are other players really improving.

6th November 2024 at 8:56 am in reply to: Champions League New Format and First Phase Matches #216390Alfie, granted there are players that need to move on and you need a Manager to be bold enough to let them go for the Benefit of underpinning effectively a deconstruction and a new start.
There are youngsters and players with potential that can stay and will grow with guidance and time; Garnacho and Hojlund as 2 examples. Timing is good re the Appointment of Ruben. I don’t think you’ll be able to get any better and hopefully going forward, he gets a full backing. There’s obviously been lots of managerial changes down the years, so the players know they can no longer hide and need to stand up.

6th November 2024 at 12:17 am in reply to: Champions League New Format and First Phase Matches #216385Probably not straight away Alfie, but I’m convinced this time round, you’ve bagged a good one. Maybe I’m clouded by Lisbon’s performance tonight. 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1 may suit United, especially when playing on the counter.
Encouraging to see a young Manager coming into the Prem. The landscape may well change latter part of this decade.

Chelsea’s situation is effectively unique; there are virtually no injuries other than 1 player and Sancho not allowed to face United. He does make a difference.
Enzo essentially needs to place emphasis on selecting a consistent 11 whereby he formulates a nucleus to then build from. He’s not too far off. What’s happened to Chilwell? A whole lot better than Cucurella!
I think they are in progression and are Capable of achieving Top 4. The way this League is in my eyes, it is open. There is more pressure BELIEVE on Liverpool and City than there is on the chasing pack; it only takes 2-3 slip ups of a run of 6 games. 5-10 point gaps can be made up in time.
This is why in recent years, the benchmark has risen to the meteoric 90 point mark.

Listened to 606 earlier and a little like yester evening there was a few bad vibes and calls of a ridiculous nature. I was never a fan of the guy when he was a player, but the position has been filled so I can’t put together any logic in sense on the saying the Ruud Van Nistelrooy was cheering and being passionate because of being after ETH’s job.
It’s down to obviously Amorim (you would assume) in whether he is kept on and I actually do hope he does. He clearly has a heart for United; more than some of those players on the pitch!
