Chucks and Spurs are my favourite people haha 😀
I heard both goals on the radio coming back from work and boy was I delighted. I could smell it in the commentary 🙂
Cucurella at fault for both goals. There’s just this spirit that drives Spurs.
I wouldn’t wanna be facing them in 2 weeks time as this will be one of our hardest test.
It goes all back to my favourite mantra in being “This is The Premier League!”

Chucks, the Best Encouragement I can give mate is that This Is The Premier League. You are at Home with Maddison. Plus you’ve beaten 4 in a row Champs Manchester City.

This league is so competitive and has me convinced haha 🙂
Still wouldn’t completely write off Man City, but looks like there will be a new PL Champion in 2025.

Could be a blessing in disguise this. Macca was on a suspension and Alisson, Jota, etc still not ready. This of course will be on a double gameweek, but probably better to take this out this time of the year as we have CL on Tuesday coming up so now we can rest out and prepare for this and Fulham the following Saturday.
Not too bothered about our point gap being reduced. People get too carried away in the first place and this just proves how quickly things can change.

Certain Derby Day fixtures and a weight of pressure too for certain managers recently under the spot-light.

6th December 2024 at 9:38 am in reply to: Weekend Football Gameweek 13 – Nothing Special :-) #216684The Premier League for the Neutral as it stands is just at a brilliant and a really competitive stage. I honestly wouldn’t have predicted those outcomes from last night; Brighton! I expected a little bit more.
Injuries I believe all round possibly playing part.
It’s not only the repetition game after game but my biggest annoyance subsequently after a bad result from the top is the word “bottlers”.
There’s 25 or so matches and it’s absolute madness not to think points will be dropped along the line. No game is straight forward. Happy overall to be where we are.
I like Darwin a lot but let’s be honest, he’s not the 20 goal guy we hoped for. Salah has gave us so much recently you would think an auto blank-cheque to secure his services for a little bit longer.
We need definitely somebody new at the Top. Hope our Sporting Director is in talks with Slot about future possibilities to strengthen us. We can’t be expected to lift a title with this squad when we are accumulating injuries.

5th December 2024 at 10:46 am in reply to: Weekend Football Gameweek 13 – Nothing Special :-) #216677Spot on D/H. Gunners don’t look like conceding. We are the best goal difference wise, but that could change quite easily. We need Konate back. Slot understandably is rotating. Lots of games to get through over the next few weeks.

5th December 2024 at 10:43 am in reply to: Weekend Football Gameweek 13 – Nothing Special :-) #216676Pretty much echo my thoughts from last night and Sean’s. 11 points or 9 points now trimmed down to 7. We draw at Everton and Spurs, that’s another 4 points dropped. The fixtures and the sequence of these can leave this impact if we don’t keep winning. Both Chelsea and Arsenal on very good form and a threat.
So-called pundits etc are provocative. It’s annoying but you just have to push it to one side and maintain level-headed.
Last goal was an error from Kelleher, but he’s human and he’s done so well for us in the absence of Alisson. We do need players back. The real good signs is our hunger and evidence from yesterday that we didn’t lie down and almost won all 3 points coming from behind.
Need a bit of a reset coming Saturday in ensuring we come away with a clean sheet. 3 goals is a little too many to be leaking.

4th December 2024 at 10:34 pm in reply to: Weekend Football Gameweek 13 – Nothing Special :-) #216670Sean mate 100% aligned with yourself. 3 Away from 4 before Boxing Day.
It’s not so much who we play, but the Fixtures set out turn by turn.
Happy mate overall Tonight getting 3-3 considering.
Jota Return hoping.

4th December 2024 at 10:28 pm in reply to: Weekend Football Gameweek 13 – Nothing Special :-) #216669Young Blue, in realism, I would Expect 8 Points from 4 Games and expect us God’s Honest Truth A Tough Game At Newcastle. Fortunate to draw. Every team naturally will be ‘Up For It’ facing a Team Top Of The Table; All Part Of Territory.
This is what I’m saying in not being an Idiot ‘Reading’ into so-called 11 or 9 point Table Leads.
This League’s the most in peak of competitiveness that means Competitiveness 😀

Zobo and Diaz missed. Nunez from convinced in moments just reverts back to unconvincing me.

Leading up to Christmas before Boxing Day, we have 4 league games:
Newcastle Away
Everton Away
Fulham Home
Tottenham AwayI still think we rode our luck a bit with Southampton. I’m not quite sure where people are getting Van Dijk being the all time best centre half. He has been brilliant sure, but he has a lapse in him. We need Konate back and although there are players that can step in, here lies the problem with our defence and injuries.
Gravenberch a Key player for us and probably now a regular starter and the new Gini. I would still like a Milner type of player to come off the bench, offer us experience and calmness and see us get over the line in games.
It’s possible to predict highly in percentages that we won’t get all 12 points. 8 Points out of this would be good. If Jota can return at this moment in time and get back to scoring, that would be a huge boost.

2nd December 2024 at 8:51 pm in reply to: Weekend Football Gameweek 13 – Nothing Special :-) #216657Finished on a 12 hour; extremely busy. Just looked at online sites elsewhere and I am so glad no other Liverpool fan in majority is buying too much into this Title Talk. Pep wins 3 matches on the bounce and before you know it, people will start to think a little differently or entirely change their tune.
I do see similarities to us in the way they play the high line and their midfield being overrun; Gundogen past his peak. No De Bruyne as a Regular; Bernardo too much responsibility to contain; wide men needed.
Gunners and Chelsea look threatening you have to take them as serious.

2nd December 2024 at 1:08 pm in reply to: Weekend Football Gameweek 13 – Nothing Special :-) #21665619/20 comparison made, but that was different as we had different players back then. Competitiveness was different.
I just think if anything, we’ve over-achieved slightly.
Things can change quickly.

1st December 2024 at 9:33 pm in reply to: Weekend Football Gameweek 13 – Nothing Special :-) #216654That’s it Sean. I still remember March and talks about the Quadruple etc. We need to see how we fare on Wednesday against Newcastle. Plus Everton will be super up for it Saturday lunch time, so points could be dropped.
The good news is that our defence of late ala Virgil in particular in solid form. Kelleher too; immense. Gravenberch growing better and better in that role. Zobo rolling up his sleeves. So these are good signs for us.
Plus of course, certain players returning from injury, but yeah, not to get carried away. Pep has won 6 Titles and Respect to him. At some point the very best go through a bad patch and experience that part of the cycle. Looks like this is where City are at the moment.

1st December 2024 at 6:20 pm in reply to: Weekend Football Gameweek 13 – Nothing Special :-) #216652Can’t believe it. Unless you count Dias and the De Bruyne ‘efforts’, there was virtually no shots on goal throughout the whole match as I recall from City.
Van Dijk’s almost best game of the season; though he has that slight mistake and thank goodness for Kelleher. Needed the second goal desperately.
Reminded me a little of when we played Man U at Anfield nearly 30 years ago on Sky Sports when we were sitting on a 1 nil for a long time only for Fowler to seal it late on.
I think Pep’s written off City himself. I don’t think it was sarcasm of any nature, but he knows at this moment in time, he can’t get a tune out of them. A few weird things seemingly going on behind the scenes; why didn’t Grealish start? Why isn’t De Bruyne starting? Haaland virtually absent.
Proud of Liverpool and good start to the month, but nothing is won and points lead can be lost quite easily. We need to focus this week on 2 difficult matches away from home. Zobo and Gravenberch very good today. Good to see Trent back and nice to see the return of Harvey Elliot. I’ll be a lot happier seeing Jota return.

1st December 2024 at 4:52 pm in reply to: Weekend Football Gameweek 13 – Nothing Special :-) #216642Sitting on a 1 nil lead and not adding to it was tenterhooks and needed to get through the first half which we have managed. Not a shot on target so far from City, so that’s an encouraging sign. They’re clearly missing width. Not sure really what Rico Lewis gives them. De Bruyne missed, Doku as well. Josko probably should have been selected to start, but hey-ho, it’s all good for us so far.
