Do our strikers not practice shooting in training?

Hell of save by Kelleher there.

Yeh not many goals in that attack or strength to get past people though Gakpo is better in the box. Might be an Endo goal that wins it tonight.

As I said on the other site, if we can keep the spine of Alison, Van Dijk/Konate, Endo, & Salah/Nunez relatively intact, we should be ok, i.e. when we had neither Endo, nor Salah or Nunez vs Arsenal, I knew weβd struggle. Thatβs not to say the other injuries arenβt concerning and going to cause us issues, but I think that spine keeps us solid with enough flair to worry the opposition. But we will need some players back soon to help spread the load of games.

What a time for Kane to join Bayern…
π¨ Terrible moment for Bayern with their 7th defeat this season β 11 defeats in 44 games under Thomas Tuchel.

Another early kick off doesn’t help.

Can’t figure out Man Utd this season. I think they can all look completely at sea sometimes or they can play some really nice stuff (like I thought they did vs West Ham last week). They’ve clearly got something in the team but are perhaps just a confidence team – i.e. when they pick up some points it can really lift them, but then lose a few and it can really deject them. I suspect Hojlund scoring a few now is helping with that confidence.

Didnβt see the game, but it looks like it changed with De Bruyne. Think heβs the main difference for City vs the chasing pack.

Have a good one Sean. Itβs good to get to a game whilst Klopp is still managing. I suspect tickets will now be harder to come by as the season dwindles down.

Thing is with that though Banjo, your stock is only high for so long. Even if you have to leave yourself, better to do so whilst your stock is high than wait to drift back into mid table until you’re not so hot anymore.

If Mourinho goes back, Chelsea will have gone full circle.
I do think Klopp will have a break, though the national job in Germany would be a sort of break after the day to day intensity of domestic league football.
If Tuchel becomes available in the summer I could see him at Man Utd.
I’ll be surprised if Alonso isn’t at Liverpool next season.
Thomas Frank a good manager but does it say much about his big club ambition if he’s been at Brentford for quite a long time now?
If Chelsea & Man Utd do opt for managers with more top club experience, will that mark the end of this long term pipe dream strategy of developing young players under a manager with little experience at a top club?

I never considered us to be contenders this season nor did I see Arsenal being contenders either. As Sean says, we are top because of Klopp’s ability to squeeze everything he can out of a group of players. With players coming back it’s possible in theory we can maintain that siege type mentality Klopp installs but there would pretty much have to be no more mistakes. As for Arsenal, yes they played well, but they lack world class players up top to sustain any title challenge for me. I’m actually with Carragher on their celebrations, I think they were a bit embarrassing acting as though they’d won the league yesterday. I can’t see them winning anything this season.
As for City, for all of the money they’ve spent on players over the years, they’re still dependent (as all top clubs are) on a very few players to get them over the line. I think Aguero was the difference some years ago. And I think De Bruyne is the difference now.

Wouldn’t surprise me to Mourinho back in the Premier league. There are so few proven big club managers with personality, someone will take a punt on him. Why not Chelsea?

Ed, Van Dijk plays with a bit too much arrogance for me and is too casual at times. But like last season the root cause today for me was a lack of protection in midfield and being poor up top.
I agree it’s City’s to lose. We have an outside chance but need everyone fit and probably then some.

Arsenal aren’t good enough to win the league imo. We need everyone fit really to have any chance. City be enjoying that result.
