I’d say Tuchel’s side is coached more not to make mistakes, which is the key aspect of winning games. As I’ve said before Liverpool under Klopp when we won the title weren’t great to watch because it was all about keeping possession and ensuring mistakes were minimised. Now Liverpool are better to watch but are more open and making mistakes. In that sense, winning can often be boring no matter who the coach is.

Yes not scapegoating Pogba Sean, just saying defensively with those players playing they’ll always be it bit more open. A proper manager would have let Pogba go long ago, but it’s as though they’re still hoping he’ll live up to his fee.

Sean, playing Fernandes, Ronaldo & Pogba together always a risk for Utd. Effectively 3 players you have to carry.

Ronaldo still the best finisher in world football? Every ball to him in the box usually results in a goal.

As in many things in life, is it not who you know that ultimately sets your destination? With Paratici having worked with Conte and having a relationship with him, is that not ultimately the thing that has set this in motion? Even if he doesn’t quite look the right fit and won’t have the funds he wants.

Lucky, I think when Conte said after winning you the FA Cup “You can say what you want, but I am a serial winner.” That would suffice for his ‘Linked In’ personal summary. π

If Daniel Levy was working for Daniel Levy, he probably would have been sacked by now.

You’d have thought what with the debacle of the defensive injuries season, the club would have ensured a similar problem didn’t occur in midfield, particularly as you say with several of them usually missing chunks of the season.

Gini maybe didn’t have the best of season’s last year. But not replacing him was unwise. And as great a servant Milner has been, we shouldn’t also be so dependent on a 35 year old veteran in midfield.
