Who says you can’t find players in January?

He certainly seems to tick our boxes…
Worth emphasising re #LFC interest in Luis Diaz that highlight reel is great, but heβs a lot more than that. At FCP gone from being impact player to essential starter, scorer of great goals to consistent goalscorer & workrate is excellent (thatβs working under Conceição for you)

He is Sean, I was just making light of the term in this context.

I do chortle at the word “hijack” in transfer stories, as though Luis Diaz is on a plane to London, but is seized on by Liverpool staff who force the pilot to land at Liverpool instead saying “You’re signing for us now!”

Yep, Paul Joyce normally very reliable.
Liverpool are looking to finalise a Β£37.5 million deal to sign Luis Diaz after hijacking Tottenham Hotspurβs interest in the Porto winger.

And like Roman at Chelsea, it arguably works for them. Watford have dropped out the premier league only once since 2015.

Ranieri gone at Watford. Watford have gone through 9 managers I think since Klopp was installed at Liverpool in late 2015.

It is frustrating HH. I think we’ve gone a bit too gung-ho at times this season to try and make up for last season. But we’ve been making mistakes because of it. Just signs we are starting to gain control again of games again like vs Araenal and for the first half hour today. Just can’t yet seem to put it together consistently though the way we did in 19/20.
I have a horrible feeling we might just start pulling things together again, but end up losing to City by one point again because it’s too late π

Lovely goal by Ziyech. Postage stamp goal.

Spot on Sean on the previous page, outstanding again for the first half hour, but then we drifted away for much of the rest of the game. Sums up our season – we have elements of our title winning season in us, but also elements of our early Klopp era in us with mistakes. Can’t really understand why? We just can’t seem to concentrate for a full 90 minutes anymore.

What I don’t get with Arsenal is why they seem to have gone down this road of buying lots of young promising players without buying any world class ones. I know when Rodgers came into Liverpool, on the surface you could argue the club did similar – but the club had still recently bought Suarez. They also bought Sturridge, Coutinho, etc along with promising young players. Arsenal don’t seem to have done this, so they just don’t have the quality to compete at the higher levels, and because they are still a big club, that then puts the pressure on Arteta. If Arsenal had fallen way down in recent years, or had even got relegated, I could understand the direction they’ve taken. But it’s almost like they’ve deliberately pressed a full reset button on the whole club as though they’ve been through a crisis. In short, they have not acted like a big club should – that doesn’t mean they should have gone on big name spending splurges – but they should have still targeted world class players. Their approach seems to have been too safe and cautious.

That was a very good performance. And it didn’t look too gung-ho either. We generally kept the ball well. It looked more like one of our title winning season games. All very controlled. So it does beg the question, why haven’t we seen that throughout this season?

Kelleher impresses again. Really have few fears now if Alisson is out.

Just don’t have the quality up top to finish the game.

Not surprised Gordon starts. After our poor showing up top in the home leg, he’s worth a punt.

Spurs certainly have a set of games in hand racked up.

I suspect Frank Lampard is going to be 3rd/4th favourite for every PL job outside the top 6 that comes up, but will never actually get it. Think he’s best going to the Championship again to rebuild his career.

Roberto Martinez now 5/4 favourite for the Everton job. If you can’t install an ex player, there’s always nostalgia π

Duncan Ferguson 7/2
Wayne Rooney 7/2
Frank Lampard 7/1
