Wouldn’t surprise me Sean. Very few places that could afford him. Mbappe looks Real Madrid bound. City I think want that finisher/striker. Still haven’t replaced Aguero yet. Haaland would very much be an adequate replacement. Still can’t believe he’s only 21. Feels like he’s been around for ages. Better get these trophies wrapped up before another period of City dominance next season 😁

The fact that Man Utd still have a shout at top 4 is embarrassing. Boy is the league weak below Chelsea.
As for the final, good performance today. I do wonder if the plan has been to manage the performances in 2nd gear over recent months and now keep upping them as we reach the climax of the season.

Liverpool haven’t played well for a full 90 mins in a game for a long time. Can get away with it vs lesser opposition, but 5 goals conceded in the last 2 games should be a warning these performances can’t continue.
Nunez looks a very good player/finisher. Suspect he won’t be at Benfica for that much longer.

Hell of a game at the Bernabeu.

Funny you mention that Brian, as the one thing I can cling to compared to the similar situation 2 seasons ago, is that you don’t have Aguero this time. You may still have some exceptional players, but Aguero was a huge player for you in the big moments. In fact, had you had that Aguero yesterday, I think you’d have won yesterday.

After our first half, I’ll take that, though disappointed we didn’t make more of it in the second half, but City tightened up and won the midfield in the latter part of the game.

Adlab, you’ll be 3 or 4 up before long if this continues.

Our performance levels are still poor. Unless we up it, going to be a long day.

One ball over the top is undoing us.

I worry about Foden and the space he might get. Our front 3 have be on top today.

If you construct a league table from November 2nd, when Conte took over, up until the present day, Spurs are 3rd in the league, ahead of Chelsea. Spurs were 9th in the league before Conte arrived.

I think it’s in the nature of both teams to go for it today. I think whilst we’re on a good run, our performances haven’t been great, so we need to up it today. I think a lot depends on our front players firing today. But like others above, even if we did win, we still have some difficult games left, and the form Spurs are now in makes that game tricky.

Gerrard having a mare. That’s 4 defeats in a row now. Five in a row got Smith the sack.

Looks like another race to finish outside the top 4.

I think even Chelsea had a rush of blood to the head in signing Lukaku. Probably would have been better keeping Tammy Abraham.

Ed, I just think that the ingredients for success are so hard to bring together all at the same time that you’ll only ever get a few teams challenging at the same time. Which leads to some teams spending big to try and compensate for the lack of other ingredients, which often doesn’t get them anywhere. Then you have owners who can install a good setup but don’t want to spend too much. So all in all, have all these billionaire owners improved the competitiveness of the league?

Man Utd just look like they’re playing the season out, they don’t look particularly bothered about going for the top 4. Big reset in the summer for them.

Big win. As poor as they’ve been, just don’t see Everton going down.

Scrappy game. Both sides not great, but home crowd so important for Everton.
