Well, much improved recently albeit against 2 teams not in great form. The Madrid game should tell us how much of a corner we’ve hopefully turned. Do still seem a bit nervy at the back.

That’s based more on hope than faith…

Think this goal might be short lived.

In that case Ed, Boehly should have just bought Brighton instead 😁

I would think so Banjo, though I just don’t think this team is capable of going on a run this time. Too many areas of the pitch in transition.

I think Potter should have thought more about taking the Chelsea job when he did. Chelsea trying to play the long game or not, you only have so much time at a top club if results aren’t forthcoming.

Why didn’t City do this when we were competing with them? Sigh…🙄

It’s the cutting edge that City have which gets them over the line over most seasons. They’ve scored 12 more goals this season than Arsenal with a similar defensive record.

Yeh I sympathise with that gj, not a penalty for me.

Poor by Arsenal, but still an exceptional finish by KDB.

Yes we’ve been here before this season with the team digging out a performance only for it to fizzle out again over the next games. In recent years I think the fear factor of our attack allowed us to press less as the opposition tended to keep back somewhat. So we really need to get the attack working well again as I’m not sure we have it in the tank to press so much in every game for the rest of the season. Diaz will help but Klopp really needs to find a fluid and effective system up top.

Bajcetic has been one of the few positives this season.

I just fear its going to be more of the same with that team, but we’ll see what happens.

As we’ve all recently discussed on another thread, we know money is only one of the ingredients you need for success. You also need the right CEO, the right manager, and the right head of recruitment. We also shouldn’t pretend that Man City’s success wasn’t still partly built on hard work and blood, sweat and tears when it very much was. The thing about Man City is it may well be the case that they didn’t actually need to spend the amount they did to achieve the success they did. You don’t need to bring in a world class player for every single position. When you look at the players offloaded from their academy like Sturridge, Trippier, Sancho – these players may have helped sustain the future of the club and even helped them to have won the CL by now because a lot of winning the CL to me is that you need players that are part of the fabric of your club to win it. And players like Foden may have developed even quicker than they have done had they had more opportunities earlier on. It is this wisdom of using such players we need to encourage all clubs to adopt.
