Which begs the question, if it was so close, where were the lines?

I’ll take it Banjo, but I do think VAR has really done us over today. Even the offside goal decision looked odd.

Diaz should have buried that. Shows something that we’re a man down but should be 2-1 up. Bloody bureaucrats ruining the game…

Interestingly Tifo just did a recent video demonstrating Jones was making a lot more tackles and his role changing a bit and how important he was becoming. I still think that decision was very harsh but it probably again demonstrates weβre lacking specialist players who are experienced in tackling.

Again, no context of the incident taken into account. Stupid bureaucratic way of just looking at the end result and being spooked by it and thinking red card. His foot slipped off the ball.

I think he is in trouble Adlab. Are things much different from them under Ole? Nearly Β£180 million on Onana, Antony & Mount and players Ten Hag wanted. In what way are those players taking the club to the next level?

Where does this leave Ten Hag?

Absolutely typical of the league that Brighton can go and beat Utd 3-1 at Old Trafford, then lose 6-1 at Villa. Is this just a case of the highs and lows of the modern pressing game of when it works, it’s great, but when it doesn’t it’s awful? Even Klopp has been on the end of a hiding at Villa.
The reason why Pep rules supreme is because he’s one of the most balanced managers in the league offensively *and* defensively.

Don’t know Ed, he is a proven attacking coach though, and if you have a good attacking coach it can really build and breed confidence into a team. Most of the best teams in Europe tend to play with an attacking verve.

Wonder if Hansi Flick will be managing in the league at some point this season?

Called 2-2 (or 2-3 π). Another result that helps cement Angeβs credentials at Spurs for me.
Good win for us. Attacking wise weβre looking back close to our best after last season.
As for Chelsea & Utd. Just donβt get why these clubs have effectively decided to go on βjourneysβ by bringing in young players for the future. Clubs like that should be building for the now. And good players for the now donβt necessarily cost the earth.

Indeed Threeps, Dortmund was the perfect initial move for Bellingham in that it’s both a competitive club that plays in the CL *and* he was also going to get lots of games which I doubt he would have done at a big club in our league. Indeed you sometimes wonder how many top young talents suffer by being lured in by a big club only for them to not get any games and end up on the side lines before later being discarded. Young players really ought to have “guardians” appointed to them to help guide them in their career but who have no financial incentive to do so.

Bellingham is already a superstar Steveo, even if he is only 20.

Yeh just to make it clear about Postecoglou, as I said Iβm not saying Spurs are the real deal yet, more that he looks a much better fit for Spurs compared to recent managers and the players are clearly playing for him, enjoying it and getting results. Iβm under no illusion that theyβll still be some bumps along the road, maybe some big ones ahead. But the whole place just looks happier.

Wouldn’t call it new manager bounce Sean, he’s completely changed the way they play and it’s delivering. It just feels like a mist has risen and he seems a breath of fresh air. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll suddenly become a top team, but he clearly fits their profile better and the players look happy again. Considering where Spurs have been the last few years that’s a type of success in itself. But also, the effectiveness of a teams attack is a big indicator of where they’ll finish for me and they look to have a nice flow to them and Maddison has fitted them like a glove. Even Richarlisons starting to score after last season’s poor return.

Is it too early? He’s been working with those players for longer than 5 games, they’re clearly implementing his style, the players look to be enjoying it and have responded to him, they’re getting results and the fans very much look on board with it all. Of course they’re still early on in his reign, and of course there’ll be bumps in the road, but he’s clearly having a positive impact on that team which is the main job of a manager. You saw similar signs early on with Klopp that things were changing for the better. Now it’s to be seen how far he can take them, but I think you can always gauge fairly quickly how successful the transmission belt is from the manager to the players. Good appointments tend to have positive impacts fairly quickly. It’s whenever I hear that a manager “needs time”, I think, why? What’s going to suddenly change if there’s not been a great deal evidence of change before?

Postecoglu has injected a massive amount of positivity and flair into Spurs. Don’t think anyone’s saying they’re the real deal yet, but Spurs have finally found a perfect fit with him after the debacle of recent appointments. And that positivity is generating a lot of confidence which inevitably is instilling a winning mentality. Arsenal you’d think will still be favourites as they are further in to their development and are a more solid, balanced and polished side, though they’re certainly not perfect or unbeatable and I think Arteta can sometimes be too clever for his own good. Add the derby into the mix, with both sides playing with confidence and who knows what will happen. Could easily see a 2-2, or a 2-3. One to definitely look forward to.
