On the domestic front, Cardiff beating Brighton in the big relegation clash. Gives them hope if they win. Next up for Cardiff…Liverpool.

Nine, it was a great achievement by Woods psychologically speaking in terms of where he’s been at. I just think sometimes the real story of the actual tournament itself gets lost in the headlines as though Woods tore up the course to win by 12 shots like he did in 1997.

Woods unsurprisingly gets all the headlines the real story of the tournament was more that Molinari floundered as opposed to Woods being particularly great.

Looks like Molinari has had a bit of a mare whilst the footy was on. Shame.

It’s as though we weren’t suited to holding on to a slim points lead – think of the away games vs Man Utd & Everton. We didn’t know whether to stick or twist. Certainly no problem with what the plan is now. We’re just going for it.

This TAA non handball supposed inconsistency – BT Sport flagged up the much lower reaction time TAA had to react vs Rose so that’s why one was deemed handball and one wasn’t.

Barca looking a bit too casual at the back.

Steveo, that’s fair enough. I’m just simply pointing out as you also do that it could create new problems. Regarding the inconsistency, a big problem is this wording of the “natural silhouette” of a player which could be interpreted differently depending on the individual. So it still can boil down to a subjective opinion. It could still have been argued for example that Rose was in a natural silhouette considering the action he took. So I think that needs looking at. There is ambiguity in the rule itself.

Problem is Steveo, they are also actually changing the game as a consequence. Unless they iron these problems out, defenders will now avoid going to block shots altogether. This could have unseen consequences – for example, could attackers (who are known to be good strikers from outside the box) start getting man marked to stop them ever shooting in the first place? Just thinking aloud here but there can often be unintended consequences with such things, particularly if you take one of the previously legal options for a defender off the table. Surely something will replace it?

Looking at the Rose incident again (below for anyone who missed it), UEFA might as well make the rule “thou shall not attempt to block any shot with the body any more” because it’s impossible not to block a shot with your hands right by your sides. That’s the practical consequence of putting this rule in.

Agree Nine, it’s great TV to unwind to when coming in from work. Rory been getting close in recent years, he’s due one at some point.
