Might be worth a punt on an outsider, especially Spurs at 14/1.

Yeh Ed, things arenโt quite as bad as I thought with Man Utd. There is something there. So I wouldnโt go down the Allegri/Poch route now (who are more defensive). You basically need your own Klopp who will play the Utd way and be able to build and develop on what you have. Problem is such people only come around every so often.
But better to keep things as they are rather than make another rash change with someone with a very different philosophy.

Man Utd the form team in the league. Bizarrely, I think what is helping them is that there wasnโt really much expectation this season, so there isnโt much pressure on the players. But whatโs the end game here? Youโd expect the form to end at some point. You canโt build a team just on momentum and runs. Man Utd need a better manager to evolve this team, not create a revolution or upset the ingredients they have. Donโt see many candidates out there who would fit that bill at the moment. So Ole will continue until someone better is found. That would seem the best strategy at the moment.

Gerrard & Torres
Fabregas & Costa
Bruno & Rashford?Maybe not comparable yet, but a top class midfielder & striker can get you pretty far.

Afraid I did see that coming. It’s games like this that we miss Van Dijk & also we’re missing the likes of Jota. It’s why we’re struggling to pull away.

Big Sam is basically the Jose Mourinho of mid table. Surprised heโs been out of work so long.

Willian is an interesting one. Is he not one of those players at Chelsea that usually put a shift in regardless of what the rest of the team were doing? So what’s happened at Arsenal if so? Poor management? Or is it just that he’s in his twilight years now?

Mak, I’m referring to a liberal order (represented by both main parties) that is failing on its own terms. The egalitarian education system only advantages children who happen to live in rich areas, the mass drive to university has saddled a generation with large debts with not much to show for in the standard of qualifications, the law and order again is failing in poor areas where crime is failing to be deterred because the police no longer patrol the streets on foot and there are very soft punishments, and the economy continues to only work for the rich and those who have assets vs everybody else all the while the national debt continues to balloon.

Brexit is more of a symptom than a cause. The exodus of the working class from Labour actually began under Blair with New Labour who purposely tried to change the country in many radical ways, with neoliberal corporatism and uncontrolled immigration just several of them, both of which were harmful to the working class. But because people vote tribally there was always just about enough of a residual vote to keep voting Labour. However, that pretty much went with the referendum when Labour voters were free to vote against their party. And the Tories have now grabbed this vote. Brexit is primarily a reaction against a liberal order now in intellectual decline. So the type of Brexit we get isnโt important as grasping why people voted – something the liberal establishment still has yet to grasp. Instead, the free trade zealots who still think Britain is some kind of significant power have hijacked the policy and given the country doesnโt make very much, itโs hard to see how there will be significant benefits. Weโve talked on here about things like apprenticeships and that is something that has to come back as well as investment in trying to restart some kind of manufacturing industry to replace the neoliberal corporatism that infects much of it, something which has been able to take a huge advantage with the devastating measures taken to allegedly control the virus. Until any government grasps these things, things wonโt improve.

At this stage last season, after 14 games Liverpool were on 40 points (9 points more than they are now). Man Utd were on 17 points after 13 games (9 points less than what they are now).
So what you have is a double effect of Liverpool dropping 9 points & Man Utd gaining 9 points from last season, so far.

Perhaps not Ed, but the mere fact you are now third favourites canโt be escaped from. For all its faults, there is still something about this Man Utd team. Strange but true.

Well Carl Heneghen, professor of evidence based medicine at Oxford university is asking where the evidence is that the new variant is โ70% more transmissible than the old oneโ. As has commonly has happened this year, the government is being led by panic not evidence.

There is more balanced analysis on all this, but you won’t find it in the mainstream media which contains a lot of hysteria.

You canโt really blame people who were visiting family (which should be a basic human right) given the short notice of the lockdown – it compressed the window available to leave London.
