I know you’re calling for consistency, probably not wanting to see this..
I’d have a huge problem with seeing this week in and out. For multiple reasons :

1) We should be setting up situations where attack is favoured over defence (without making a mockery of the game), and I feel this would give defences the ability to nullify their duties to defence space, to a point.
2) This isn’t basketball, but this “interfering” rule seems to be getting closer to the idea that football is a non-contact sport.
3) We then have to start seeing indirect free kicks in the box for when defenders do this. I don’t remember ever seeing this… so I take issue with the lads on ESPN or NBC or whatever it was (steve nicol and the Scottish fella). They’re talking about it like “OMG it’s so obviously not a goal .. UGH!!”.. It was a bit nauseating.

At the end of it all though, I don’t want to see a new meta arrive where teams are relying on a tactic where they are over-using what Endo did. I’ve seen no signs of it though in all my years as a fan, so it was weird to see them clamping down on us for it.

I don’t know the name of that ref but rightly or wrongly, I have his face burned into the back of my brain for being really unfavourable to Liverpool. whatever about the goal, I felt the general calls were what annoyed me most. He gave Liverpool no protection and Caicedo was allowed to foul and foul and foul… what was that about?

He was the worst and the lads all ganging up on Bradley because they thought he was the weak link… ref gave him no protection, instead a booking.

I’ve loads of respect for the decent chelsea fans but their team are nothing but scum and I in no way want to rub it in the faces of said decent people but I totally would with Caicedo and co. He was just out to try to end our PL challenge by injuring players and he achieved that. It’s not out fault you wouldn’t even talk to us, you merchant.

I dunno how my fellow Liverpool supporters felt about all that but I see us as being very threadbare now. I think we’re into crisis territory and the ongoing lack of protection that we’re getting as teams are just going for injuries…

Ya, it will be the thing that ends our title challenge. It isn’t every week that we get the chance to play a team that is as weak as Chelsea.

You know, when I had a good look at that later on replay, it looks on purpose. The way he’s looking away just comes across as the way that players sometimes try to mask their intentions.

I don’t think Chelsea can afford to sack him, Mav. They pushed their finances to the limit to sign certain players ahead of us. Money well spent! lol

They never should have sacked Tuchel, Mikus. He’s not perfect but he’s better than Poch. Chelsea were better before they went spending loads but as much as I may like to ham it up a bit, they do have some quality players that a top manager would get more from.

Maybe changes would still be needed but they’d be tweaks rather than wholesale changes.
As great as it might be to see this kind of cash injection fail, we won’t have Klopp soon. We’ve got to roll the dice now again and you never know what you’re gonna get.

TY Mav lad. I dunno about th other lads but I was stressed out. I’m sure you could tell.
It didn’t help that my streams were CONSTANTLY dropping. I was trying to use the exercise bike as I watched the match but I was literally having to refresh or change streams every 2-3 mins on average 😛

worth it though.

Amazing to come away from extra time with a victory, without needing penalties.
Heart beats money on the occasion.

Before the match, I was confident we’d do it but after the 90 was up, I thought we were in trouble. I thought we looked tired, we got an injury and some of the subs were bringing in reserve players but that extra time performance was amazing.

Look at the brilliant players on that Chelsea team, looking dejected. Caiceido looks like he made the right choice but if he cant show up on a day like this then I’m glad that he prefers money.

My streams were a nightmare, so I didn’t get to hear Nevilles line there (even if it was sky that I was mostly watching it from I think)… but I kinda wondered if he might invoke the “you cant win anything with kids” memories somehow.

Kelleher was amazing. Konate, Van Dijk also. I have to say that I don’t ever want to see Gakpo leading the line for us again. He’s far better as a supporting role forward.
I still think he’s a good player but he’s not the focal point. it just doesn’t suit him at all.

We were the better team overall AI think but that last 10 mins or so was heavily Chelsea. We’re just knackered. We don’t have the options off the bench…

Not saying we definitely can’t do this of course but it’s not looking good for us. I think Klopp made the right call in preserving the few players there for the PL.

Win or lose, Chelsea players are basically playing the last game of their season. We have a an incredibly tough period ahead for us.

I still hope we can manage it though. I’m not one of the snobs who turns their nose up at the domestic cups once a team has made the final, especially.

Gakpo needs to wake up alright but ya, we’ve done alright considering.
I still think it’s absolute madness that Bradley got booked there. He did nothing at all against the rules of the game. I suppose he should have been pleased for multiple chelsea players harassing him and fouling him. He nearly got kicked in the face before that by Colwill. and he’s taken out of it and stands up… that’s a booking right there alright.

Teams are definitely trying to injure us more lately because they see that we have nobody on the bench. Ref gives absolutely no protection. not even a booking for Caicedo, who then went back to fouling afterwards, nothing then either. Not our fault he preferred the colour of money.
